  1. The Poldiac is a new mechanical mod by Jim over at http://www.mmvapors.com It is being touted as the hardest hitting mechanical mod on the market by quite a few reviewers, due to it's .999 silver plated brass contacts. Silver has the best conductivity of any metal. It comes with 18650,18500, and 18350 tubes and pants (we'll get to that in a min.) You can choose between satin and polished stainless steel for the top cap, button body, shirt (again we'll get to this in a min.),body tube, pants, and end cap.The button is a true mechanical switch but the design is brilliant. The button is located on the side of the tube but can be positioned at either the top or bottom of the device. So what's all this talk about shirts and pants? The tube that slides over the button housing is called the shirt, where as the tube that slides over the body tube is called the pants. Jim is now offering brass shirts (7€) and pants(10€ for each tube) in satin or polished finishes. The Poldiac BTO (Build To Order) retails for 179€ ($234) with international shipping. Truly stunning craftsmanship. Here is a pic of mine. And here is a pic of it with the brass shirt and pants. (Image courtesy of the DID thread on ECF)
  2. Awesome. Can't wait to see more D20 mods.
  3. Yes but you can roll many wicks with those sheets. Not to mention different size diameters and lengths, solid or hollow, thin walled with a large hole or thicker wall with smaller hole. Oxidizing isn't hard and only takes 5 min. It is nice to have the option though. Thanks for the link.
  4. I second the Poldiac. That's my next mod. That and the Orion V3.
  5. I just had the exact same thing happen to me. Found another AC adapter laying around and I'm up and running thanks to this thread. I had a back up trust fire charger just incase. Ya know what they say. Backups! Backups! Backups!!!
  6. Wow didn't think this thread would end up this way AT all but hey at least we all learned something. Lol! The lavatank is made of a polycarbonate tube that is known to crack. There is a list of known juice that cracks tanks and that there are pyrex tubes the same diameter that do fit the lavatank but don't have the links for either sorry. The caps are made from acrylic pen blanks but a larger diameter. Spun on a lathe and hand crafted. Each one is a one of a kind work of art. They are the best working tanks too. Never have leaking problems, they're easier to fill than any other tank I've ever tried, and ya don't end up with juice in your mouth like a lot of the DCT tanks.
  7. It isn't a drip tip. The Ming or vase top is actually part of the top cap of the tank. It works really well. Doesn't leak and is really easy to fill. I actually have a 2nd one now that is pawn style jonboy also makes.
  8. Just had to share this. I got my very 1st lavatank from jonboyUSMC on ECF today and it's amazing!
  9. Problem with a hammer and drywall screw is that if you're not careful you can get a big dent before puncturing the carto. When you try to fill the tank the o ring at the bottom can't make a seal resulting in it leaking everywhere. Not to mention it sliding to one side of the carto when hitting it with the hammer. With the saddle clamp method I can do a bunch of cartos in just a couple min.
  10. Yep that's it. Strange! Link works fine on my end. Thanks.
  11. Saw this video and picked one up. Best $7 bucks I've spent on vape gear in a long time. I love this thing! http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=At2g8QaYp0s
  12. You're right Brian. I just assumed we were talking about a DCT. My post above only works with a DCT MAP tank.
  13. I did this too on my second carto. Nothing ya can do about it. What I do after filling the tank in draw on it without firing and you'll see bubbles coming out of the punched holes. The air is getting replaced by liquid. I do this for a couple min then I top it off with a couple drops. Haven't had a problem since.
  14. Love the article. He tells it how it is. Unfortunately this does not make for nearly as good news as saying that it will kill you. News producers care less about the truth and more about ratings.
  15. If you want really good VG liquid Alien Visions has a lot of 100% VG juices and they carry my favorite juice Bobas Bounty. Clouds of Vapor has an organic line that is 100% VG too. I just ordered their butterscotch that's been getting rave reviews in the community. A lot of vendors will customize their PG/VG ratio too. Especially if you say you're allergic to PG. The problem with that is that some won't adjust their flavoring to suit. They just use the same ratio of flavoring that they use with their PG juice and a lot of times the juice ends up tasting pretty weak. I too prefer a high VG ratio to my juices and I buy from Alien Visions.
  16. If you really take care of the cartos using bobas ya can get 2 weeks out of them. I vape my tanks bone dry. To the point where the carto starts to taste dry. Blow out the rest of the juice and refill. I love my DCT and I hate cartos with a passion. That polyfill taste wasn't there with the dual coils. Just as a heads up. Make sure the polyfill is FULLY saturated before giving it that 1st fire. I was impatient one day and fired it before it was really saturated and boy is that taste nasty. After she's burnt there is nothing you can do to make it taste any better. What I do is draw on it as if I was vaping but without hitting the fire button for a couple min. Lift off the drip tip and if you can see just a little juice at the top of the carto you're good to go. Just a couple drops on top and ya should be ok. At this point though I usually slide the tank back up and fill in the space that's been made by filling the carto.
  17. Yep the bullet is the 9mm hollow point. Just got mine in with black and white tips. They look cool. Use them on my DCT cause there is no way to drip in them. Ya can get them here. www.vaporcaststore.com
  18. I would say some variable voltage device like the Provari or Darwin. You can dial in the perfect setting to get the vapor and TH you want. A word tI the wise. TH is largely dependent on the type of juice you are using.
  19. I try to stay away from LR. My provari doesn't like them very much. Sometimes I get E1errors on even 3.5v.
  20. I sent him a message so we'll see. Anyone else ya can think of.
  21. Thanks Chris. I hit him up on twitter but I noticed he's not there too often. I'll try Google+.
