  1. Not a problem. I have been exactly where you are. Actually it was Uma and a couple others who have me advice on picking up my 1st eGo kit over 2 yrs. ago. Very similar to what you got except there wasn't any VV options then. Lucky dog!!! Lol!!!
  2. Wow. I've heard of knock offs but this is going too far. The name of the website is even a ripoff. I know some vendors have tried to reverse engineer a juice that is really popular but I've never seen a vendor go to such lengths to steal business from someone's hard work.I wouldn't give them a dime even if Brandon closed up Alien Visions for good. When I saw this post I originally thought it was a typo. How some people sleep at night is beyond me.
  3. Hi Uma! The only reason I didn't recommend a tobacco isn't because I don't like them cause I love a good tobacco. For a new vaper though I think it's easier to find a fruit flavor or bakery flavor. Tobaccos automatically have something going against them when it comes to a new vaper. The preconceived notion that tobacco means that it tastes like a cigarette. Well you and I know that a cigarette flavor is impossible. To truly appreciate a tobacco you have to first understand how we taste vapor. To me vapor is more tied to smell than taste. When we taste a strawberry we get texture, juice, temperature ect. When we taste vapor none of that is present. Wrapping your brain around this concept allows us to appreciate a good tobacco. A good tobacco to me will taste like good pipe tobacco smells or how a freshly opened pack of cigarette or cigar smells. I just think as a new vapor understanding that is asking a bit much. Lol.
  4. I vaped Boba's exclusively for over a year. It is ONLY available in 100% VG. Actually most of their juice is 100% VG. They do have a PG line but even then it's only 10%. Boba's falls really flat in clearomizers and also genesis attys. All you get is the honey note. It really shines in an atomizer and honestly I love it in a carto tank. Unfortunately is is a carto killer. Only lasts 3-4 days tops before ya need to change it out. Still on my top 5 and can't see myself ever not having some around. I also like that you can't pick the PG/VG ratio. It's like really fine dining restaurants where you can not alter a recipe. Yes we all know the adage of more PG more flavor and more throat hit, more VG less flavor and more vapor. I could argue the case that this isn't always true, but that's a debate for a different day. I bring it up to ask a question. All of those vendors who have every ratio manageable do they change their flavoring percentages to accommodate for how these different ratios effect flavor? If not what is the juice supposed to taste like? What ratio did they use when creating the juice? Now some vendors disclose what their standard is, which is helpful. I have yet to find a vendor that discloses that they do add more or less flavoring depending on PG/VG ratios.
  5. Nope the kit is perfect. You did great. Keep in mind that even if you don't like the flavor of the juice that it doesn't mean vaping won't work for you. There are literally 1,000s of different flavors. You might want to pick up some blank cartomizers to refill yourself with whatever juice you want. The brand most of us like are made by Boge. Here's just one link. You may find them cheaper as there are tons of vendors who carry them. http://old.310vapers.com/e-cigarette-accessories/e-cigarette-cartomizers/bulk-deals/boge-lr-cartomizers-15-pack-mix-n-match.html# Here is a great carto filling tutorial. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PICBRi37Zs0 Also try and stay away from tobacco flavors as they really don't taste like a cigarette. A lot of vendors have sample packs so you can try lots of flavors. I'd I have yet to find someone that didn't find at least 2-3 flavors in their "a little bit of everything" sample pack that they love. http://www.aliceinvapeland.com Now only do this after you order samples from a different vendor first as Alice In Vapeland takes up to 2 weeks to ship. They are very popular and a very small organization.
  6. The way I see it is this. If I spend $200-$300 on a mod I can surly justify a $30 drip tip. Kinda like eating fine sushi on a paper plate or putting plastic wheel covers on a Ferrari. $30 is less than we spent on smoking in a week. Lol
  7. It's like all these mod makers know it's tax time. Lol!!! If I can swing it cool. If not I'm sure the next "shiny" is right around the corner. Some of Gepetto's stuff just isn't me. The devil and horror stuff just ain't my style. I do appreciate it though. It's just with pieces like that I think it should go to someone it fits to truly be appreciated. I'll only try for pieces that speak to me. The two above do. I would love to own either.
  8. It's by Stiff over at vapor wall. Just concerned with the timing of everything. The Orion V3 is soon and he's making a limited run of these that I may or may not make be able to swing. I'm not missing the Orion that's for sure. If not I'll just have to save up for a Gepetto pipe. or Man is a genius! Vapable art!!!
  9. Oh and also you can use a pair of tweezers to crimp the coil around the backside of the wick. The idea isn't to get the wick closer to the post as it is to have as little room as possible when the coil leaves the surface of the wick to the positive post.
  10. It is and was my all day vape for quite awhile when I first started vaping. Think I have a bottle of 24mg strength in my tackle box actually. My favorite RY4 had to have been from Backwood's Brew. I don't think you could actually call it an RY4 (even though they did) but it was damn tasty. They no longer make it though for some god forsaken reason.
  11. I saw that while I was there making sure my links were right. What I found out after trying London is that while it does taste the closest to a cigarette I no longer like the the taste of cigarettes. Doesn't mean I don't like tobaccos because I love a good tobacco. Been stuck on the NETs at Heathers heavenly vapes lately.
  12. So as most quasi veteran vapers and newcomers will soon come to find out, some flavors are hard to really get right. This post is really a two part topic. What ejuice flavors are really hard to nail, and what luck (if any) has anyone found of finding those elusive gems. Let's start with the obvious. Cigarette flavor. Now I'm not talking about tobacco flavors cause that is a completely different topic. The closest I have found is London from http://www.want2vape.com Vanilla. I have yet to find a true vanilla. Most taste chemically and artificial or just like sweetener. Coffee. Another tough nut to crack. Partially because everyone has a different idea of what a good coffee should taste like. We all prefer our coffee taken differently. Every coffee I have ever tried either tastes very artificial or the burnt gunk at the bottom of a pot of cheap diner coffee. Chocolate. Now a lot of people swear by this chocolate chip cookie or mocha whatnot. To me 99% of them taste either really chemically or like really dark chocolate or worse even bakers cocoa. Yuck!!! Now I said 99% because my search for that elusive sweet milk chocolate has ended. Belgian Cocoa from Halo is light years ahead of any other chocolate I have ever tried. It really is the chocolate you always dreamed of. http://www..com/chocolate-eliquid.html
  13. I've tried Bobas on 32g,30g,and 28g but only with 400 mesh. All of which aren't nearly as good as a carto tank. You're right Bobas would probably shine on the spheroid. Holding off on the spheroid till I get my pipe.
  14. Funny thing is one of my favorite juices I can't stand in a genny. Good ole carto tank produces the flavor I like for that juice. I can't stand Bobas in a genny. All you taste is the honey note. No spice from the tobacco, no gram cracker. It just doesn't work for me.
  15. Just got some juice from heathers heavenly vapes. $13 for 30ml is a great price. Not to mention their juice is awesome.
  16. iPhone apps Tapatalk forum app EJuice app (has a DIY juice calculator Pulse news reader Frequency video aggregator Flipboard turns Twitter, Facebook, and Rss feeds (including VaporTalk) into a magazine like layout. Oh and all my apps work on my phone. Don't cause my phone to crash and are designed for one version of an operating system, not 5. No wonder Android has so many issues. Who can develop for 5 different operating systems at once. Lol sorry had to.
  17. Well you have a lot of really good questions and congrats on making the effort to quit. I haven't had a real cigarette in over 2 years. This really does work. It is not a gimmick. So let's get into your questions and then I'll make some recommendations. First let's talk about the difference between the eGo-T and eGo-C. The eGo-T was the 1st tank style eGo. The "T" stands for tank. The mouthpiece is the tank for the device. The cone and atomizer are built in together and screw into the battery. Inside of the cone there is a spike that pierces into the mouthpiece. The liquid goes into the spike which feeds into the atomizer. The eGo-C is the exact same system except that the cone and atomizer are separate from each other. Making replacements cheaper to buy. Now on to the bad news. Both have their flaws. The tanks are really, really small and need to be refilled quite frequently. You also can't draw on them very hard at all otherwise you get this annoying whistle and it can cause leaking. They are also known for dry hits. So what's the difference between atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers. Atomizers basically are a tube with a piece of silica wick at the bottom that sits in a ceramic cup. The wick is wrapped with wire that heats up and vaporizes the juice. The downside to this is you need to drip 4-5 drops on the atomizer at a time. Vape the liquid away (about 8-10puffs) and repeat the process. Not very conducive to driving and you can over drip which causes leaking. Cartomizers were created to address the constant dripping issue. It's relatively the same size tube as an atomizer and it also has a coil that heats up the e liquid but that coil is surrounded by a poly fill material that holds more juice. You can also get cartomizer tanks (often referred to as carto tanks) which is a tank that surrounds the cartomizer, the cartomizer has one or more holes in it to continually feed the poly fill inside the cartomizer. The downside is that many people find the flavor of an atomizer much cleaner than a cartomizer. Honestly not enough to outweigh it's convenience IMO. You may get a batch where a couple are bad but the good news is that they're cheap. Clearomizers are the idea of putting an atomizer inside of a tank. They do not work consistently enough for me to recommend any of them. They have all had wicking problems and one will be amazing and the next one you will have to throw away after 5 min. of using it. The atomizer can't sit on the bottom of the tank as if it's completely surrounded by liquid it's flooded and can't produce vapor. Soo you have to put it above where the juice is, but then you have the problem of getting the juice from the bottom up to where the coil is. They try to accomplish this by having long strands of wick going down into the tank. Only problem is that the whole system is fighting itself. Gravity is trying to keep the juice going downward while the wick is trying to work juice up to the coil. Resulting in dry hits. The vivi nova works the best out of all of them but you still get some that are bad out of the box. So automatic and manual batteries. Automatic batteries require you to inhale to activate. Unfortunately they aren't sealed and juice WILL eventually get down in the battery causing it to short out. Always go with a manual battery. So on to my recommendations. I would stay away from the eGo-T and eGo-C kits. I would recommend a couple eGo twist batteries, charger and carto tank. The ego twist is a lot like the standard eGo batteries except you can adjust your voltage between 3.2 to 4.8 volts. Higher voltage creates more heat and more vapor. eGo Twist starter kit I know I said to stay away from the clearomizers but the kit is cheaper than buying the batteries and charger seperately. And this way you can decide for yourself. Here's a pretty nice tank. It's made of glass as some juices react with plastic tanks. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Triple-V-Pyrex-4ml-Premium-Tank_p_71.html"] They also carry cartomizers on the same site. And you'll need a carto punching tool to put holes in your cartomizers. It's not the best carto punching tool but it's cheap and it'll work. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Cartomizer-Punch_p_15.html"] It may seem like I'm pushing valleyvapes but I'm not. Honestly never even shopped there. Was just looking for a cheap starter kit and they just so happened to have a nice carto tank setup. Just trying to save you money not having to pay shipping from 5 different places. If you need anything just PM me. Worst case scenario is we do a Skype call to make sure you're good to go. I'd say good luck but it really isn't that hard.
  18. Weird went to edit my last post and it created another. Damn tapatalk. Well guess I'll do it this way. These guys are using clay, tru stone, carbon fiber, wood, and kanthal wire. Now we're talkin!
  19. Gotta get me some of these. Now those are drip tips.
  20. I was just giving him a hard time. I know he doesn't do it anymore.Yep it was easier to pass up as it was right before Xmas and the kids come 1st. Glad I've figured out what I like also. Especially after all the garbage that didn't work at all. Remember when there was talk of e liquid gel?
  21. yep love Scott too but if I have to watch him oxidize another wick when he does a genny or hybrid review I'm gonna scream. Lol! Did you notice in his DID video that he wrapped it wrong? When he attached the wire to the ground post the long end was to the outside instead of the inside closer to the positive post. As soon as he did it I was like well that's gonna be a hotspot. Love him though. I actually have that exact same white drip tip he always uses. Lol! As fAr as the Ikarus is considered I was one of the first 20 on the list. I backed out because I wasn't too keen on the aesthetics of the top cap. I know it sounds petty but when you're forking out that kinda cash for a mod ya gotta love it.
  22. Rick is also someone I pay close attention to as a reviewer. He is a bit of a Jim fanboy but that's not really fair to Jim because there is good reason Rick likes his products soo much. He's just that damn good. Lol.
