  1. This is what happens when procrastinating from home... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKI2mPGuKnU
  2. That seems about par for the course. I did that at first also, and then found a couple a really like, and stuck with that. On occasion I will order up some new juice on recommendation. Those other juices won't go to waste though, as I never know what I'll be in the mood for. It's also nice to have a spread around for friends that want to try. Most people that I let try my favorite juice don't care for it at all, and I don't want that to be a deterrent, so I usually let them try a 'sure thing' juice like a fruit flavor or a caramel.
  3. I thought I was going to be wanting to smoke cigarettes bad at first, so I ordered up 24mg. This is also hard to compare to smoking cigarettes. I used to smoke camel lights, and I started off with 24mg, and found it to be too much to vape all day. I have tried everything from 6mg to 24mg, and I usually fall around 12-18mg...sometimes lower, and sometimes higher. I usually try to keep a 24mg with me when I go out to a show or bar (i.e. having a beer or two) just in case I get an urge. If you're planning on getting DIY supplies, you could always just start with 24mg and cut it if it's too much. I don't have that kind of ambition, so I usually just keep a variety of strengths in hand
  4. Welcome! I know you're going for that 'cigarette' look, but I will tell ya first hand, you're not going to be happy with that battery life, unless you want to have 3-4 batteries sitting around being charged all the time. I would say I vape moderately, and I can get the ego battery to last me all day. That being said, the PCC will help you considerably with your charging needs. I have only used a 510, not the 520, so maybe there is a significant difference in battery life, and I'm sure someone will be able to help with that question. I would suggest that you get at least two atomizers. I have atomizers that are still kicking from when I started vaping a couple months ago, and I also have atomizers that have popped after a few days use. It's always good to have spares. As for the cartos, mine will last me 3-5 days, so you can conservatively bank on a pack of 5 lasting a month, give or take a few days. Find the BOGE brand soft tip cartos, they work great, and are easy to fill without a syringe, even on the go. If I remember correctly though, Low Res cartos do not work well on 510 kits, so make sure you get regular resistance. I have purchased regular resistance cartos at ivape and vaporkings, and they work great. One last note, make sure to save some room in your budget for trying lots of juices. When I started, I thought I was going to be vaping strictly tobacco juices and invested in several bottles of tobacco flavored juices. They now are sitting in my closet. There are many vendors that offer sample packs to see what best works for you. TTTeLiquids, Freedom Smoke USA, Velvet Vapors and many others have really reasonable sample packs. It is hard to give an estimate on how much juice you will go through, but I was a pack a day smoker for around 12 years and I go through 10-15 mil a week. Make sure you keep stocked up. I haven't tried making my own juice yet, but it does seem to be quite economical. I've tried PG, VG, and all sorts of blends. VG is too thick most of the time to work in cartos, so keep that in mind. I prefer PG based liquids, it just works for me. I only really enjoy the VG juices I've tried at a higher voltage, as it seems to pop the flavor a bit more. Search the forum, there is lots of great info here. I'd be lost if it weren't for all the great help on this forum! Feel free to ask any other questions, watch lots of videos, and best of luck!
  5. 66% iVape.net Sweet Caroline 18mg mixed with 33% Peach 18mg from velvetvapors.com In the office. Vaping in the office. In my favorite chair. No one is here, I think I'll have a nap. Happy thanksgiving
  6. I wanted to see how the inside looked on these. If they are promoting the fact that you can 'top off' your cartos by including the drip tip, I'm wondering if they are set up differently. I figured, if anythng, these should work well at 5v, so worth the purchase.
  7. Y'all see these? http://shop.nhaler.com/Drip-O-Mizers-Dripomizers.htm They went up on Drew's site today. Have no idea what the deal is with them, but at 3 bucks a pop, I'm curious enough. I ordered a few, and I'm interested to see how these things work.
  8. Working all day! Gotta love pointless contractual work obligations. I'll be relaxing in the office. Bringing my favorite reclining chair (poang) and a book.
  9. I for one haven't saved a cent...and I couldn't be happier about it! If I wanted to save $$ I'd switch my insurance to GEICO, but as for now I'm happy to reallocate my funds to a new hobby. Have fun!
  10. When I first started, I really did notice a considerable soreness in the throat region. Very itchy and dry. After reading in the forums, I decided to try a VG based juice to see if I would encounter less irritation. To be honest, I didn't really enjoy the VG based juice as much as the PG. After a few weeks, all of the discomfort in the throat just went away. I rarely have a dry sore throat anymore. All I can think of, is I also was having some allergy issues at the time, alongside from kicking a long habit of cigarettes. I vape 10-15ml a week, and I'm feeling great. Hopefully this will pass for ya.
  11. So, I've been using my LR BOGE Cartos religiously for the past couple weeks, I absolutely love them. I also ordered a bunch of regular cartos as well. Today, I grabbed a regular boge carto, filled it, and threw it on the ego, and Meh. It's not giving me the satisfaction of the LR cartos at all, not even close! That being said, I've ordered my first 5v mod. I've been told that running a LR carto or atty gives a pretty close representation of vaping at 5v. Someone please assure me that I will be able to pop those regular resistance cartos on my new mod and it will treat me like those LR's. Thanks!
  12. 18mg is my choice right now, but I also ordered my first kit from vaporkings and their juice. If I remember correctly, vaporkings stocks dekang juice, which is known for a massive throat hit. I felt the same way, and I remember, I was also sick when I received my package. I thought for sure it was the PV that was keeping me sick, but it ended up being the combo of a cold, and withdrawl from analogs. It will get better. Revisit those juices later, and in the meantime, try new ones when you can. I find old juices I didn't like and now I enjoy them. It's pretty cool.
  13. Nothing worse than when you can't get anything to work! I feel like every once in a while I have an off day where nothing will work right. That being said, I really have to second the vote for the LR cartos from Vaporkings. After watching several videos, I decided to get a syringe and use it to fill them. It worked fine, but was messy for me. Since then I have found the condom method to fill them, and it works fantastic. I get a ton of juice in there, and it will last me all day. It's also super hassle free, and no juice going everywhere. The only adjustment I've made to the fill method is that I plunge the top of the carto into the juice into the cap as opposed to the side that connects to the battery...it just works better for me. ***I try not to get juice into the tube in the middle. It just runs down to the battery and leaks everywhere. Try the sides and see if that works for you. Also make sure that you get enough juice in the carto so that you don't hit dry spots.*** Don't give up on those cartos, I promise you'll find your sweet spot!
  14. My first carto lasted about 7 days, and the next lasted 4. Usually when I lose flavor or get a burning taste, I just toss it. I have also experienced what I can only describe as a 'dry flavor spot', where I don't get any flavor for a few puffs, and it kicks back in. One of the many great things about cartos is the price. If after 3 days of great vapor on a carto, I wouldn't have an issue tossing it to the side and filling a new one. Most vendors tell ya that they will last about 3-5 days. Have a great weekend!
  15. I have to chime in, those vaporkings lr cartos ARE THE BEST. I don't know what it is, I've ordered from a lot of places, and these just do the trick so well. Outside from that, I've recently had a problem with a battery, and Rob from VK took care of it super fast. I've ordered from lots of places, but honestly, vaporkings.com has really sealed the deal as far as my business is concerned.
  16. The battery came as a part of my Joye eGo set that I purchased through vaporkings.com I used it on my commute home from work with no issues, came home, took it off the atty, and it's sitting on my counter flashing uncontrollably. I think it may be a little late to contact about the warranty, but considering that I've been alternating batteries, it really hasn't seen more than a couple weeks action...it's very odd.
  17. I found a resolution that I believe will fix the issue 100% of the time... I ordered a new battery
  18. So, I'm sitting here at my desk at work, minding my own business. eGo sitting on my desk, standing straight up on it's end as usual. All of a sudden, it sounds like mel is cookin' up some eggs at his diner, I look over, and the ego battery light is flashing all willy nilly and the atty is sizzlin' away. I quick grab it to take off the atty, and it is hot like an iron! after unscrewing it, the battery continued to flash and fire. Then it stopped. I put on the atty, added a drop to it and it vaped fine. Set it back down, and 20 min later, here we go again! Battery is a little over a month old...anyone else ever see anything like this happen?
  19. I just wanted to post a follow up on this, Been going strong on my first one for over 7 days now, and still performing, no issues. They have really exceeded my expectations. I have noticed that the center tube is starting to brown out quite a bit , and I really have no problem retiring this one early. I'm anxious to pop on a new one, and see what the difference is from the end of this cartos life, and the beginning of the new one.
  20. Try Sweet Caroline from iVape.net, it's fantastic. His other juices are great too. I've also enjoyed juice from the following vendors velvetvapors.com, I think they have great fruit flavors, but not too keen on the sweets. vaporgalaxy.com, I've had the whisky and the pepsi. Both are really clean. As always, it's a matter of preference. I've only been at it a little over a month, but I am quickly learning that you get what you pay for when it comes to juices. Good luck, and let us know what you find!
  21. Awesome, I saw the mods section at eStix was empty, I will hold off til the weekend, thanks!
  22. What's a guy have to do to order up a mod these days? I swear, it seems like every supplier that carries anything that I'm interested in is out. I'm ready to move forward with a 5v device, and after doing research and reading several reviews thought that the Mako Maksi would be perfect. Now, I can't find any available. It seems like most sites that carry a quality mod are always out of stock. That being said, I'm looking for a 5v mod under/around 100 bucks w/battery and charger. Am I asking for too much? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
  23. I also notice this exact same thing after using mouthwash in the morning. Just brushing teeth = still tastes okay. Add mouthwash, and it's all vape flavor off for several hours. I guess different things trigger it for different people.
  24. Let me start off by saying, I've only been vaping a month. Nothing fancy, just my eGo. After dripping, I didn't think I would try anything else. I've enjoyed dripping, and using attys. While looking for toys I thought I would pick up a pack of the BOGE 510 LR Cartos from www.vaporkings.com. For the price, I thought they would make a nice backup in the event of an emergency. I also picked up a syringe for filling. As usual, my shipment came in 2 days after ordering. I really like the fact that they are labeled 2.0 OHM on the carto. It's nice to know off the bat what I've received when I open the package. For my first experience, I loaded the syringe with 2ml of 18mg Sweet Caroline from iVape.net. Popped off the rubber tip and I pushed the syringe down one side of the filler and slowly pumped in the solution until the top started looking like a slush. Held the 2ml perfectly. I like the fact that these can be filled in a pinch without the syringe, but filling time with the syringe was really quick. I added a trip tip on my stainless steel eGo, and it actually looked kinda cool with the black space between the eGo and the stainless steel drip tip. Took the first pull off the carto and... nothing. Tried again, and great flavor and vapor. This experience lasted for the next 3 hours of heavy vaping with no signs of any degradation of flavor or vapor. Each pull felt like the first. Today is day 2, I've topped it off w/o the syringe, dripping slowly down the sides, and it's working flawlessly. Drippers, next time you put in an order for goodies, please pick these up. Thanks to Dayvape for driving this point home over and over on the forum, I probably would have never picked these up otherwise. Dripping is decent for trying new flavors, but I think I've pretty much settled on my go-to's for liquid. Having these cartos is like a whole new experience, and you really can't beat the price.
  25. I'll be the first of many to recommend the Joye eGo. Check the suppliers list here on the forum, I have ordered from several of them with fantastic results. Enjoy!
