  1. I've been hearing about e-cigs for awhile, on the news, on the internet, etc. Someone in the lab I worked in said he had tried one and hated it (he got the blu) and it didn't work for him, so I kind of passed. But for awhile now I've really wanted to quit or cut down. I've been trying to get more active and just be healthier overall, and it's tough to do cardio when you're coughing up tar every 5 minutes. I've been getting bronchitis 1-2 times a year since I started smoking, but even during my bouts of bronchitis I would ::have:: to smoke 1 a day. Then I'd get better, and go up to 3...4...5...10...you know the drill. Anyway, I was looking for at quitting options when on a forum I frequent someone said they completely quit smoking with an electronic cigarette. They had one of the more expensive brands from a big company (No 7 I believe) but hearing that it had worked for someone got me googling. I kept going but couldn't find any legit reviews on any of these things for awhile, until I was looking through how-to and review videos on youtube and came across one of Chris's, which led me to the vaportalk forums. Now I have a 510 and have gone from 8-10 analogs / day, to 5-8 analogs / week, which is basically only when I hang out with my smoker friends. And an e-cig is quite a conversation starter at parties! Now whenever I go out I get "Is that one of those electronic cigarettes?" "What is that I've been seeing you puff on?" and of course everyone's gotta try it!
  2. I don't know about your kit, but my kit came with a wall/car/USB charger. Like the main cable is a USB charge that plugs into an adapter for the wall, or an adapter for the car.
  3. Low resistance is to simulate 5V, which is to give more heat and a stronger "throat hit" right? Because honestly, I don't really like my smoke hot, I'm a fan of a cool drag and a lot of vapor. Even with cigarettes I was always annoyed by the heat.
  4. I got my 510 on Thursday and I'm thrilled! Since it arrived I have had one analog, it's been over four years since I've gone a day without one. I still get a craving for real cigs though, but so far I've been able to pull through. How long did it take you to completely stop smoking analogs? Also, how long did it take you to stop craving analogs? Yesterday was really bad for me, I basically forced myself to stay inside all day to prevent lighting up. While I'm getting the nicotine, I definitely feel as if at times I crave all the other stuff that's in analogs. Today's been fine though.
  5. I'm going to be investing in some more attys tonight. My 520 PCC kit came with 510 mega attys and I was wondering: are the mega attys just longer to accomodate a longer cartridge, or do they last longer as well? Meaning, is their overall life span longer than that of a regular cartridge?
  6. That's a good point. Although, IMO, since the products are being advertised to give nicotine they would probably initially ban the device and then sellers would have to get together and market it as being a "nicotine-free smoking device" or something like that and then they could get it back on the market. Like how head shops are legal because their products are advertised as for smoking tobacco. And after reading some of the statements from the court cases it all seems to be in the way it is marketed.
  7. I got the 520 (510 mega) with a PCC and have been vaping what I consider to be very frequently and only change the battery once a day, tops.
  8. Does it actually look like this will be banned? I heard somewhere it looked promising that it won't be...
  9. Well, I guess it doesn't matters so much anymore, I just ordered my 520 PCC kid from wordup, a 5 pack of cartomizers and a bunch of flavors from vaportalk. Thanks for your help, I can't wait for my packages to arrive!
  10. snubber, the kits at vapor4life sure are pretty, but is there any reason to go with those over the 510? I mean, I can get cartomizers for the 510 so what's the deal with these? They also seem more expensive. Do they just have a sexier PCC and more color options?
  11. Yeah I'll probably go with 24mg and cut it down to what I need. I was looking at the cartomizers sold by wordup, they're here. They say "soft tip" but also have an option to buy a "soft tip filler needle" so I'm rather unsure. Should I look at another supplier for the BOGE cartomizers?
  12. Schlitz: I'm definitely not going to be buying any "tobacco" flavored liquids, that's for sure! The only thing I want tobacco-flavored is tobacco. And I'm already really picky about what kind of tobacco I smoke, I really can't imagine finding a flavor that tastes like my preferred blend. Thanks for the advice on the places for samples though, I'll certainly look into it. And on the subject of liquid, how do the strengths compare to real cigarettes? Is there any sort of comparison to make? I just have no idea what strength I should get. I can be quite sensitive to tobacco, I know back when I used snus I had to be careful not to leave it in for too long or I'd get wayyyy light-headed.
  13. Hey, so I've been a regular smoker for 4 years now and I'm looking for a healthier option without having to give up my beloved nicotine. Also, smoking inside! Now one of the things is, I want to SAVE money by doing this. I've been rolling my own cigarettes since I started smoking which makes it much cheaper than packs. Currently I spend ~$10/week on tobacco, filters, and paper. The last thing I want is to end up spending more on e-cigs than on tobacco. However, the look is also important and I DO want something that looks like a cigarette so I'm leaning heavily towards the joye 510/520 over the joye ego. I'm leaning towards jumping right into direct dripping at home and cartomizers for driving/going out. I want a PCC kit for going out so my battery doesn't die on me. Currently I'm looking at buying (from wordup): PCC joye 520 kit: 2 mega batteries 1 atomizer 5 empty carts 1 drip tip 15 mLs eliquid And: 1 pack of 5 cartomizers (wordup has new "soft tip" cartomizers, anyone know what the deal is with that?) with filler needle 1 extra mega atomizer Does that sound good for now? Somewhere around here I read that you should buy 5 atomizers in your first order, is that really necessary? How long does an atomizer generally last? At $10/atomizer I really don't want to spring that much! I'm also looking into making my own e-juice. I love science and love making things like this, so I'm really looking forward to it. So I'm going to get a 5 mL bottle of nic nicotine as well. Any opinions on VG versus PG? I'm leaning towards VG because it'll be easier to find in stores, and there's less potential for allergic reaction.
