  1. I just read that this is an upgrade to the MVP2.0...like an MPV2.5. It isn't the MVP 3. I am not sure of the validity of any of this. I guess since I am reading it on the internet it has to be true...lol Some of the comments on reddit seem to say they upgraded it because the new one will not be ready to ship before Christmas. Others say they are probably trying to move some components that they have in stock ahead of the release of the new version. I guess they could reflash the chip and put a recessed 510 all of the other components remain the same. I am with you! The button (placement and hard push) and the tall ego threads were the only complaints I had with my MPV. Everything else worked great! I am pretty sure this is just a modification to sell some, rather than fire sale them when the new version arrives. I have not been able to find a estimated price, but unless it is cheap, I will pass. I just got a spring loaded 510 to mod my MVP2, and 11 watts works fine for me.
  2. I just read about this, and I am hoping this is not going to be the new V3. I still like it! I was just hoping it would have a different button/screen location. I do like the recessed 510. http://www.tasteyourjuice.com/wordpress/2014/12/04/innokin-announces-the-mvp20/
  3. It seems like I have to relearn it each time I want to add a photo. It is different every time the board software updates. If you click the little down arrow by your username in the upper left corner, it will bring up a menu. In the menu click gallery. Once you get to the gallery there should be a button in the upper right corner that says upload. I think you may have to make an album and then use the upload link. It seems like it takes quite a few more steps than necessary, but that is how I have been doing it.
  4. I have really wanted a Hana box for a long time, but the Hana is just too expensive. I kept looking at the clones, but I understand that there are good ones and bad ones. I finally gave up. I did order a Hana enclosure, and have started gathering parts for a DNA 30 build. I have never built an APV but I have built a few electronics projects. I let y'all know how it turns out, in about a year, if it is anything like my normal projects.
  5. I just looked at the Hobo V2 and I see what you are saying. What is those holes on top for? It looks like it presses really far down on there! It seem to have a low chamber height which would make great flavor. I bet it would be kinda hard to build on with the tall sides on the juice wells. I do like the way it looks though. I have not been using my dripper much. Really only on the weekends. I hate to invest too much more right now. I have spent so dang much lately on new vape stuff, it is going to be hard to offset it with Christmas gifts for the wife!
  6. No, it holds great. It makes some cool builds. I just thing the added springyness of the the twisted wire made it hard to build. I couldn't get the coils adjusted the way I wanted, and get the ring on at the same time. I probably should have torched them a while longer. I made the coils too tall and they nearly hit the lip inside the middle section. I am leaving on the road in the morning and won't be back until Friday. I am hoping that I am a little calmer by then. Despite my frustration, I have really enjoyed the setup, great flavor and lots of vapor. I wish I had left off a coil on each one though. I think the .4 range works best for me and it is a high .5 nearly .6. If I wouldn't have gone overboard for Black Friday I think I would get one of these: http://www.eciggity.com/clt-v2-rda-by-infinite/ The CLT V2. It looks easy!
  7. I really like the looks of the AR mods. I do not have one though... As for the Big Block. I know I was sure bragging on it the other day, but I am a little down on it right now. It is vaping fine, but the ground ring is just getting frustrating! It never bothered me until this weekend. I don't know if the twisted wire had something to do with it or what...
  8. This makes total sense. My ADV which is a fruit/drink flavor, only works in tanks for me. I like coffee and creamy flavors in the dripper.
  9. It basically makes your mechanical mod a Variable Voltage (electronic) mod. Here is a link to one. http://www.madvapes.com/the-kick-by-smok-tech.html I don't know anything about them, I have never used one. I also have never done anything with this company, it was just the first one that came up on google.
  10. I am not for sure, but it may be used in combination with the other tubes to fit 18350, or 18500 batteries. More than likely though, it is an extension to add a kick to your mod.
  11. That does look good! I really have not looked at that one. I did a seach and found a lot of V2 it looks easy too. It is strange how those little flavors come out with different setups. I really love my ADV flavors, but I can't stand them in a dripper. I have tried my high VG blends in my tanks and they are tasteless.
  12. I made the dual twisted on a whim the other night. It was super easy. I just chucked an gun cleaning patch holder in the battery powered drill and a c-clamp on the bench and went to town... It was kinda fun. I am going to have to get me a better build deck, like the Plume Veil. The 454 is getting to be a bigger pain than it is worth to play on. I like the fact it has a 2 positives and 2 negative screw holes. I guess I am getting old and grumpy...
  13. Right. I knew it was, I just have not bought any flat wire yet, and even if I had it, it looks like so much more of a pain in the *** than the regular twisted to make!
  14. I am not a cloud chaser either, but sitting in the den I can make it impossible for my wife to watch television. (I would never do it on purpose ;-) ) I use a 20PV/80VG 9MG/ML juice. It is so thick that it strings out of the bottle rather than drips. I have just started using a dual, horizontal, 2.5mm, 28ga twisted, coil on my 454 Big block that runs about .5 ohms. I have it wicked with Rayon. I have it on a 4nine clone with VTC4 Batteries. I don't know if the twisted wire makes a huge difference in the clouds, but I can tell you the flavor has improved over my regular 26 gauge coils. I really want to try some of Comp's Tiger wire, I hear tiger wire is much better than twisted.
  15. I should have been more clear. I don't mind clones, but the electronics are the heart of the mod. Comp is right, the DNA chip is supposed to be far superior to the cloned one. I have a friend that has a couple of clones and he is very happy with them. I am in the market to buy a clone now since I think I have settled on the IPV3. It all depends on how portable the IPV3 turns out to be.
  16. Remember you usually hear the complaints, or people asking for help when something goes wrong, but, not many people post when everything is great. I think another reason some people complained so much about them is there are a lot of Hana Clones out there. I personally have really been looking at them, but it isn't in the cards right now. (I'm just about to order an IPV3) I really like the size and the looks of the Hanna and it feels good in my hand. I really like the mini, but the full size with the 18650 would probably be more practical for me. I hope you enjoy it! As a side note, I really wanted to get a Hana instead of the IPV3 I am getting, but because of some deals I have made, the IPV is going to be the most economical choice.
  17. I agree. I wish people would start calling it PG Free or Max VG. Unless you are vaping pure VG, it is not 100% VG. As soon as you add a flavoring or nicotine to the VG, it is no longer 100% VG. Tam was correct. (as she normally is) This was copied from their FAQ page.
  18. I hope it works ok! I watched a 48 minute video about it on YouTube. I think I can do it. I am not sure though. I was a little board tonight so I made a few feet of dual twisted 28ga. I made a dual coil setup to go on my 454 big block. By the time I got it finished, I had nearly pulled my hair out. I normally don't get so frustrated, but tonight I did! On the bright side, it's vaping awesome...lol
  19. I am having the same trouble with the high VG stuff. I got some 90VG/10PG the other day and forgot to tell the shop to double the flavor, it is basically unflavored. I guess I am going to have to stick with the 80VG/20PG 9mg/ml Double Flavor in my drippers. I like the throat hit from the PG. I hate that you didn't like it. I really wish I knew a better answer, but I have Paid it Forward with hundreds of dollars of juice that I just didn't like, most of it ordered off the internet. I can't find a solution other than order sample sizes....
  20. Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  21. The VV can be charged while put together. Just plug a usb plug in the bottom (like you would on a cell phone). It will get easier. I went from 2 -3 pack a day to about a half a pack in just a few days. I then got down to 2 a day for a few weeks and then I quit. Don't try to go too fast. It will happen. Once you get to know your setup, and find different flavors analog cigarettes will start to taste bad. Stick around, and ask questions. There is a lot of great people here ready to help! By the way, Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  22. Could you provide a link to the one you are looking at? I have read that there are certain ones that do not have a standardized 510 connection and only work with the RDA in the kit. That wouldn't be such a terrible thing if it was a good RDA, but the problem would be checking your ohms. It wouldn't fit a standard vaping style ohm meter. You would have to have a very high quality digital volt/ohm meter to test coils. It looks like a quality mod. I would be mostly concerned with the floating 510 connection quality and the paint/coating on the threads. I don't know what the inside of the button looks like, but Infinite clone looks like a quality piece. It might require a little work to make it hit hard such as cleaning the threads and possibly upgrading the switch to magnets. (if it isn't already) The EHPRO version is said to not have any coating on the threads. I am obligated to say to do your research, read all the stickies, buy an ohm meter, and ask questions!
  23. If you need genuine stuff you are correct, many sites, and local shops sell knock-offs for full price. Some do it without even realizing it I bet. Vapor Talk has a store and you can get most of what you need there, and it is genuine. http://www.vaportalk.com/ It might save you a bit of money over the manufacturer. If there is something you need that the store does not have, many people will suggest places that have a good track record. This board does not have the most posts per hour of all of the boards on the internet. I will guarantee you that you will get some of the best information, from some of the most patient people you will ever meet!
  24. I also forgot to mention that you are welcome to come back here and ask questions. There are many great people here that are willing to help. When it comes to mechanical mods, making your own coils, and doing it safely, there are no dumb questions. Mechanical mods are very simple, but, they require a lot of attention from you to use them safely. The reason they work so good, and are so (possibly) dangerous is they have no safety. Improper builds can at best ruin equipment, and at worst cause injury. I am not trying to talk you out of using them, I just want you to be aware of how careful you need to be!
  25. I recommend you read and study this page: It will give you a basic understanding of why volts, ohms, and watts matter and relate to each other. Here is one on batteries: You are correct. The first thing you need is a good ohm meter. It is mandatory. Wire and wick: I bought a spool of 32ga 30ga, 28ga, and 26ga each A-1 Kanthal I get it from Temco. I really only use the 26 and the 28. Wicking i use organic cotton balls from the drug store, and rayon from Sally's beauty supply. Then use these calculators to help you calculate your coils: http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/ I would recommend a small precision screwdriver set. These are great for the screws on the RDA and also winding coils on. Small drill bits work great for winding coils too. You might also consider a coil winding jig, and a micro torch. They just make things easier. Kanthal comes pre-annealed from the factory, but torching it makes it a bit easier to work with. The coil jig wastes a bit of wire, but it is very easy to make pretty coils. Oops, I forgot you will need some small pliers, tweezers, and clippers to trim wires. For batteries, I suggest the 18650 Sony VTC3, VTC4, or VTC5. Be very careful where you buy them, they are highly counterfeited. Here are 2 very trusted sites: http://www.vaportalk.com/product-category/ecig-batteries/ecig-mod-batteries/ http://www.fadoravapor.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=16_54 There are many other batteries out there. Many of them will work fine, but when you are first starting out I would recommend sticking with name brand, and trusted suppliers. Don't forget a good charger. I like the Nitecore brand. I don't have enough experience to help you much in the area. I only have 2 types. I use the Tobh clone, and the 454 Big Block clone, both work great. They both are not the best for beginners. The Tobh has to be modified, or build off center for airflow. The 454 uses a ring for grounding and can be hard to build on. I recommend YouTube and watching RipTrippers and Pbusardo's video. I think they have some beginner videos.
