  1. You're welcome, Patricia... glad I could help you out! See, Tam, it's not just your money I can spend
  2. The Kanger sub-tank comes with a 0.5 Ohm and 1.2 Ohm OCC head-unit. The Provari will not fire anything below 1.2 Ohms, you would only be able to use the 1.2 Ohm coil-heads. Also, if the coil head is not 1.2 Ohms or higher it won't work on the Provari... so there is a slim chance the coil will be 1.18 or something like that, and will not work.... not what you wanted to hear, but I thought I should toss it out there I've not tried the Kanger subtank either, but I want one... If you want to go that route, have you thought of a small box-mod like the IPV-mini? Right now you can get them for $40-50, and they use a single 18650 battery... very accurate, will work with the 0.5 Ohm OCC head, and will fire up to 30W, which is better performance than your Provari, in a hand-friendly size/shape. Kanger also has a K-box, which was designed to work specifically with the subtanks... 40W model is on sale at 101Vape.com right now for $27! A subtank and new mod would run you $60-70, depending on if you bought the full-size or mini subtank?
  3. "The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money" -- Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of U.K. No, he's not off his meds... he's following suit with the rest of the greedy politicians in this country, and attempting to turn the USA into a Socialist Nation. Sin-taxes are nothing new, and government's always look for the "easy way" to generate revenue off the backs of the sheeple, rather than "how to generate jobs for people and increase their overall wealth". It is a known fact that wealthy nations generate more tax income (at lower rates) than poor nations, even if you tax them at 90%... just ask anyone in France, or Greece! If e-cigs were not a booming consumer product, they would be nowhere near the radar of our greedy politicians! They see a cash-cow, and an opportunity to sin-tax them like tobacco and alcohol, when they are neither, nor are they nearly as "sinful". Personally, I think his idea to tax the hospitals (the very ones who provide that healthcare to the poor), is the exact same end-result as forcing hospitals to accept less pay for their product. Along this same logic-path, it is the same as telling a single job-group that minimum wage doesn't count for you... or telling a single job-group (like teachers, who's salaries are generated by those same taxes) that they will have their taxes doubled... just because we (the gov't) says so!!
  4. Wow, it would be sweet to score some product right from the factory From what I've read, Sony actually made the VTC4, but contracted-out the VTC5 to other battery manufacturers, and their production varies in specs, based on the contract. Also, since these are made as "industrial cells", there would not be a "commercial logo" or identifier like we associate with "Duracell", etc. It would be fantastic if you can find out the real story behind the Sony batteries, straight from the engineer in their Power Division! I'm sure we'd all like to have a definitive answer on the Sony Unicorn...er ... batteries. You've got our attention!
  5. Yep, Tam is correct... When I started vaping I was downing two pots of coffee a day and vaping was drying me out like crazy... headaches, cotton-mouth... ugh Now I still have my two (big) cups in the morning, but switch to water through the day (drink roughly 2-liters daily, minimum)... and still have a Mt Dew occasionally, too... and I'm much happier! If you're going to flavor it, adding a little lemon juice is good, but try to avoid things with sugar, like kool-aid... it doesn't hydrate you the same, and you'll actually go to the bathroom as often as you would with tea or coffee
  6. Just FYI, if you do any shopping on Amazon, they have Samsung 25r's from reputable sellers, including from Amazon w/Prime shipping... and they are cheap, too. I picked up a 5-pack recently for $32.50, which made them $6.50 each! They also have 2-packs (for $12.99 Prime), 4-packs, etc.... all the way to bulk packs of 25, 50, or 100
  7. The number one give-away is the seam... real VTC4's don't have seams in the wrap I'd have to guess, you probably have a fake, but how good or bad of one... hard to say?
  8. Hmmm... I think that might have been directed at me?
  9. I still use the BOGE XL from time to time... I like the longer ones because the vape is not as hot as they are with the standard length. Like Tam suggested, give those a try before you put money into mech-mods, high-end VV/VW mods, 18650 batteries, charger, Ohm Meter, and of course the actual RDA (and all the gear that you need to actually build coils). The disposable atomizers will give you a feel for it without having to build a coil or drop $100-200 on everything to get you fully into direct dripping. Also, yes those atomizers will work well with your MVP or a basic eGo battery
  10. ^^ Those are the ones I was talking about ^^
  11. I've considered the Cloupor mini... they are small, too... roughly the same size as the iStick 20W, whereas the IPV-mini are roughly the same size as the MVP, yet feel much better in your hand I may have to buy a Cloupor mini to replace my iSticks as they begin to die off... or maybe something even better will be developed by then?
  12. I can't help myself either... I've got four of the darn things now (or will have soon)... 3 minis and 1 mini2... but they are sooooo nice!
  13. Nah, you don't have to... I just twisted "your" arm with a sweet deal on another IPV-mini
  14. I've tried several (over a year ago), and found NJoy to be the best of the worst, so to speak... although their batteries suck.... well, all of them do, actually. Have you looked at maybe purchasing a cartomizer kit with the tiny 320mAh batteries, or maybe a small Kanger mini or T2 size tank? They'd be closer to the cig-a-like size, but you'd have control of the juice, rechargeable batteries, and far more durable...
  15. If anybody is looking for one of theses 40W Kanger box mods... 101vape.com has them for $27 right now!! http://101vape.com/variable-voltagewattage-devices/597-kanger-kbox-40-watt-18650-mod.html
  16. That came with it?? None of mine came with batteries... is there a good chance you have a fake Sony? Check Fadora's website for a huge description on spotting fakes, and see if yours may be... Sounds like it might...
  17. Some "therapy" and therapists are "unique"
  18. By the way, I'll be composing my letter of complaint to the following, over the weekend: University of Wisconsin President University of Wisconsin Director of Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention University of Wisconsin (both named researchers) FDA National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health As well as my congressmen/representatives I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I read these crappy "studies" and propaganda news reports almost daily, and I DO respond to them (and those who waste my tax-dollars funding them). I'm fed up with my betters in government maligning facts to suit their agenda of Control, Power, and Wealth (for themselves), in the name of "public safety". Just like cars... if the government were truly worried about "public safety", all cars would be required to be equipped with roll-cages, 5-point safety harnesses, breathalyzer ignition cut-offs, and all drivers/passengers would be required to wear fire-suits, helmets, and neck-braces.... just to cross the street!! Furthermore, I'm all for personal choice in helmet laws for motorcycles... but if you're going to legally allow someone to ride a motorcycle without a helmet (while wearing flip-flops, shorts, and no shirt), then you (gov't) have no right to cite me for not wearing a seat-belt in my car, which by-the-way has 11 air-bags, fuel-cut-off, active head-restraints, impact absorbing steering column, and crumple-zones! Hypocrisy, I say! Sorry... I got back on my soapbox again... </rant>
  19. Oh, I'm sure there will be "counseling" and "coaching" going on... but it will not be the encouragement to push e-cigs, push the proper nicotine levels, push for "likeable" flavors, etc. etc. etc.... A support group? How dare you? LOL... They want to encourage smoking, not e-cigs
  20. Tesla started out with their own lines of mechanical mods (m-series), then moved into regulated devices.... now they are in the cloning game, and make some high-quality clones of popular mechs... as well as their own brand of mechs and and regulated devices. I have their Copper Dragon, which is gorgeous and well made. I just refuse to use it because it looks far better on the display shelf than in my hand
  21. Wow, and I just re-read the last quote in the article... (now I'm peeved) “There have been a lot of concerns that kids who wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to nicotine have used e-cigarettes because they’re not thought to be risky,” Jorenby said. “That will result in many kids ending up smoking cigarettes.” Statements like this from researchers clearly indicate their intentions for performing the study, and their bias towards a conclusion. I would not be surprised if their conclusion was not already written, and they just need some 'gubmn't money' and time to waste. Let me translate the last statement by Jorenby into non-liberal/progressive-ese... We want to prove that vaping leads to smoking, because the theory is that "kids" will be drawn to vaping, thinking it's safer, and they will get hooked on the nicotine, and move to cigarettes because vaping won't provide adequate nicotine levels to make them avoid smoking. So, their conclusion will be (based on poor data, faulty premise, and inefficient equipment) that vaping leads to smoking in "children". There are just sooo many issues with this...
  22. I'll be interested in seeing what e-cig materials they provide in the study. We all know if they provide Blu or NJoy, etc. the results will be highly skewed to the conclusion that e-cigs are not a cessation tool, or at least that they do not provide any incentive to stop smoking. If they allow users to have REAL equipment, and a full choice of the market's juices, I feel that all "smokers-that-vape" will be "vapers" within a few months But, I am sure if that happens, they'll call the study "inconclusive" or "tainted"... request another $4M to repeat the test using "tighter control groups and methods".
  23. CBT is over-used... In marketing it means Consumer Based Testing IT world... Computer Based Training... Psychotherapy... Cognitive Behavioral Therapy BDSM... _ock and _all Torture (fill in the blanks, lol) Education... College of Business and Technology There are dozens more
  24. Which Tesla model did you get? They have some really good devices, IMO I think you'll enjoy it.
  25. The grant is for a five-year study from the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration, Jorenby said. Already I'm skeptical... all the $ is tainted, just like the study will be. If you need proof of the "study to prove the results they want"? Read this statement from the article: "One thing that has been overlooked is even though the FDA does allow e-cigarettes manufacturers to make claims that they will help people quit smoking, there’s no evidence that they’re effective smoking treatments, Jorenby said. A lot of people who smoke e-cigarettes for that reason end up using both products", he [Piper] said. The FDA allows holistic and herbal manufacturers to claim anything they want... and have for decades (at least 40), without shutting them down for false-claims. Talk about your double-standard!
