  1. Hi, Welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum. I'm wondering though why you're not in the Intro section for five posts? Vaping flavors do try to match tobacco tastes, but being that taste is really subjective, everyone has a different experience. If you go to the Suppliers link, you'll see the various tobacco e-liquid for purchase. It's going to be a trial and error sitch and personal preference. If you haven't already tried a 555 or a VT Dulcis or Tobacco, that's what I would recommend. Others will perhaps offer their tobacco suggestions. Gluck!
  2. Yes, thanks for posting. If you've ever watched how a shell con game works, this would be it. As I've said before, this is all about money and power, and absolutely not about public health.
  3. Very interesting letter. Clearly the FDA legal team is laying the groundwork for stiff regulation, but my sense is they're also thumbing their noses at the e-cigarette industry imo. I'm wondering though, could this (letter) backfire and/or could it be grounds for an appeal in the upcoming case? I would definitely have to do some research on this, but would soliciting the E-Cigarette Association be of any value now or down the road? The FDA appears deaf, but bringing this to ECA's attention and other interested parties, would that give us more of a voice? The letter made me wonder as I was reading through it, how extensive was and is the FDA's testing of the known carcinogens (and yes, pharmaceuticals) in analog cigarettes as far as in "a manner consistent with protecting the public health". It's hypocritical beyond any words.
  4. On my way to trying lr's, haven't removed a bridge/wick, tho have looked at the videos. If I drip more than 2-3, liquid is all over the place. idk...
  5. Hi, you know, I've read the 10 to 12 puffs per 3 drops of drip several times. I know I'm not flooding my attys, but it seems when (and if) I pay attention, I'll drip 2-3, then vape 2-3 and then it's time to redrip...hmmmm
  6. Hi, your most recent questions have been duly addressed. Congratulations on three days of vaping! I was as incredulous at not having to smoke another analog the day after I received my 510. As I may have already mentioned somewhere, I now use an eGo, and I love it more than words can express () I have plenty of backups for my 510, but now I'm ordering backups for my eGo. Just when I think I'm ahead, there's nana's post on just how many backups would be best...still, what I'm spending on these backups is less than what analogs were costing, in more ways than one. Don't hesitate to post as more questions pop up. There will always be someone here who will answer them!
  7. Very good move to get the kit. Initially, all you'll have to think about is e-liquid, attys, batteries, and then a little down the road, backup e-liquid, backup attys, and backup batteries! Gluck! We will want to know how it goes! PS: I LOVE the TJ quote at the bottom of your posts!
  8. And, of course, what have we learned today? Yes, always to be ahead in ordering e-liquid. Part of what may have happened is the seller/manufacturer makes claims as how long the cartridges with filler last comparable to analogs. Most likely you've already become familiar with direct dipping straight into an atty and cartomizers, an atty/filler combo that is refillable and lasts anywhere from three days to however long it will taste okay to you. Hope your liquid gets to you quickly. I'm pretty sure it will only happen this once !
  9. Well, you know I wish I could help you out, too. I have been using cartos fairly regularly for the last couple of weeks. I'm loving how convenient they are. I don't have to hover over the atty. LR's are my next frontier.
  10. I soooooooooo want one...I just ordered two spare 650 mAhs...sigh of sadness.
  11. My first time! Very well done on many levels. Thomas Paine forgot some people: "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom... Must like men [AND WOMEN] undergo the fatigue of supporting it." PS: I think I might be the forum's resident feminist lol
  12. Wow, this is a great video. Thanks for posting it! That doctor needs to go on tour!
  13. Hi, +1 for Uma! I don't think you'll regret purchasing the eGo. It's a pretty amazing device. Let us know how it goes for you!
  14. Hi, welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum! It's great that you found us! I 'hear' your frustration with the first-time out-of-the-gate pv you purchased. I also recommend the Joye 510 to begin with, if it's very important for you to simulate analog smoking. I suggest you read up on it, here in the forum, and online. There is a ton of information. Taking the time to research pv's paid off for me. I now use the eGo which is really just a chubby 510. The longer battery life cannot be beat. Ahh, e-liquid. The suggestions here for diluting what you have are spot-on. I know from personal experience that it is difficult to vape a flavor that just doesn't taste like what you hoped for. If there is any way you can return your unit, and start over, that may end up helping you in the transition from analogs to vaping. I also thought it was amazing how quickly taste and smell returned for me. Hang in there. Things will work out with a little perseverance.
  15. It was worth tuning into this show! I wanted to understand what is going on and try to stay current with the issues. The overall message for those who didn't listen in is don't panic, but pay attention!
  16. Hi, I'm not posting this to be politically provocative. The system of lobbying Congress is perpetrated by both political parties. This article was in yesterday's New York Times, and what it demonstrates, to me at least, is how little say we will have in the process that is now going on with regard to regulation of the e-cigarette industry. It's rather long and in some places a little boring, but if you can get through it, the article is a primer on how legislation is passed in this country. Just a FYI piece for those interested. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/12/us/politics/12boehner.html?_r=3&hp=&pagewanted=all
  17. Hi again, I was "new" a little over three months ago and had all these questions, too. There is lots to know and learn in the beginning. I started with a Joye 510, 24mg/VG. I coughed and felt light-headed at first. As I went along my body was also detoxing from the crap in analogs. Actually, I think nic is out of the bloodstream in about 72 hrs. Anywayz, personally I like reading about the equivalent nic intake between analogs and e-cigs, but frankly it doesn't matter much to me. Imo, vaping has become a singular experience. I suggest trying a VG juice and a PG juice. I suggest trying a lower nic level. I now vape 18mg/PG, and am completely satisfied with that. Some, I've read may have an allergy to PG. There's a bit of experimentation that has to happen with vaping in order to find what works best. Good luck and most of all have fun with this. Don't even hesitate to ask away!
  18. Hey, that IS the best story I've heard today. Congrats to you and your friend!
  19. Hey, that was fun! And quick and easy! Take that FDA!!!
  20. I loved what you wrote to the FDA! It was succinct! You know what's interesting in their cease and desist letters to the five suppliers is all the presumed testing they've done on them. It's so bogus. Just thought I'd give you a
  21. Hi, I love my little shorty widemouth Delrin DT on my eGo. Madvapes and other suppliers have them. I use them with cartos, too.
  22. Hi, also wishing you a pre Happy Birthday! And a happy pre eGo! Good decision to stay cool, calm and collected! Take heart, I have a feeling this will all work out, and btw govt. operates in slo-mo. All those old geezers!
  23. Hi, we have the luxury of so many choices in e-liquids. Yes, VG (vegetable glycerin) produces a lot of vapor, but some say it sacrifices flavor. I've not always found that to be the case, i.e, Clouds of Vapor 16mg, all VG, Oriental Plum...a wow vapor and very flavorful. I have a Dekang 18 mg Almond, all PG (propylene glycol), that is way short on tasting like Almond or anything for that matter, but creates balloons of vapor. VT Dulcis is a PG that creates a lot of vapor. You can get a combo of both VG and PG from certain suppliers. I've not felt that a combo gives me more or less vapor or taste. Vaping is really a different experience imo. You will read over and over that taste is subjective. I think in the end tho everyone discovers their favorite e-liquid!
  24. Hi girldragon, I started using VG and now use pretty much a straight PG. For some, vapor is important, for others, taste is. I'm still experimenting with ejuice. It's just some are good and some aren't. I got some 18mg/PG Dekang Almond today. Lot's of vapor, but absolutely no taste. So, idk...
