  1. Three days in with the Ego C Atty and jury is still out. Requested the LR blister pack with kit, and almost sorry I did. The LR reveals a very slight burn of my vanilla vapes. Not enough to cry over, but it's there. Other all day vape cannot be burned with anything in the 3.7 range, but it seems muted and not as flavorful in the LR C Atty as the Ressurector (or Boge 2.0), if you will. Love the atty set up and it's a snap for maintenance. No mesh around the ceramic cup and coil is able to breath freely with little leftover juice for flavor changes......it's a cup and a wire. Per the Ego T Type A, this thing seems to run through juice like no other and I cut the nic 4mg for future orders. Draw is smoother, more pronounced, and the tightness is gone. Battery is same conclusion as the OP and seems improved for longevity. To do it over again? I would stick with the standard resistance atty because I'm almost willing to bet (this is the sweet spot) not to mention the cooler vape and longer batt life. Been waiting for the improved version of the Ego Tank and Joye listened to the consumer. The result is a much improved experience and easy as pie (in comparison) maintenance. Hard to tell at this point but my guess is this......the unit runs so well it does NOT need the LR atty. Standard blister pack is on the way and we'll see. Type B cylinder unit at 2.0 capacity will not roll out until early 2012. The beat goes on and this is one good unit for now. Stay tuned.....
  2. Not sure about the links....but genuine Joye (no matter where you find them) is the absolute best way to go. I would not run atty's off a Joye 3.2 battery. Carto's run the best and atties can be a PITB if your not drawing 3.7 off a true mod battery. Not to say you can't....but my expereince is this: Ego= Carto Atty= Mod device and true 3.7
  3. This explains it directly. In the first couple of days, the tank will be pretty spot on for flavor. Once condensation sets in, your running water into the vapor and flavor drops. Just my opinion and experience.
  4. At one time it was Ego T as primary delivery device. They work great for about 2-3 weeks and then go south really quick. At 10.00 per LR atty, and never knowing when they're going to need fixing........I found these to be the best. http://crystalclearvaping.3dcartstores.com/15-Clear-Mega-Dual-Coils-15-ohms_p_44.html Dark liquid, heavy VG, and all manner of delivery problems? These keep trucking right along and you have a choice, black or clear. I run the black for incognito but the clear ones are the best for filling because you can actually see all aspects of saturation. For some reason, the clear run best for flavor (though it's slight). Must be the same difference as drinking soda (or micro brew, if you will) out of a glass or a can. Sounds like you have the typical newbie problem with the tank. I would move on (as others have suggested) and get with cartos. Would strongly suggest not running the 1.25 off the Ego. However, if you take it easy and hit short and sweet.....the 1.5's here are golden.
  5. Kentucky Vanilla is top shelf vape juice. Quality is there (and being a vanilla lover) has this mix breaking into the top five for me. While I cannot rave about the Kentucky Premium on it's own (too much of a nutty taste for me) there is a very nice quality to this juice while bringing forth the best of Bluegrass Tobacco. However, when you place the vanilla in this excellent base, it really shines brightly. Highly recommend the KV. AS FOR THE SUGGESTED CAVENDISH BLEND FROM VAPE THE ROCKIES?!?! FRED HAS PULLED THIS MIXTURE FROM THE WEBSITE DUE TO FEEDBACK ON NEW PROCESS SUPPLIER. Reports have been coming in that anyone who loves the Cavendish sweetness of tobacco needs to beware of the process change and certain vendors are scrambling to get the original ingredient back in the mix. Fred will not place this back on the site until he can get with a true Cavendish supplier who has not taken the current short cut. Sorry for the recommendation and this is truly an outstanding mix when proper ingredients are available. Just a heads up for whomever it may concern. It's not the vendors fault in this case.....it's his supplier of mixing ingredient. That's two Captain Black suppliers (that I purchase from) to be victimized so far and I remove the previous accolade.....for now.
  6. Great post and here's the skinny/jest.......keep it simple and my advice is also the 510 connect. Once you purchase an Ego, the 510 threading will offer you tons of options for delivery devices, and no need for adapters. Can't stress enough what others have stated: get the Ego and a pack of carts for around 8 bucks and your 2/3 the way home. Juice will come and is the most fun if you have kept steps 1&2 simple. If you complicate battery and delivery device.....it can be heartache for the pocket book.
  7. Loved the tank for quite a while, and best flavor outside of direct drip for me. Got to noticing the drop in performance came within a 2-4 week period and then the fussing began. Learned all the tricks through trial and error and kept several of them just under peak performance for another few days, or even weeks. Well worth the purchase and a great vape when their spot on. Would never regret owning and using them for a stint. Still have 3 of them rebuilt but they sit with the advent of the Echo-e and no hassle vaping. Hoping they come out with a V2 tank system with a few improvements. I'd jump right on it....
  8. This would be two opinions forthcoming? Please let us know what you think and had to try the kentucky vanilla myself. Straight vanilla vendor will be hard to beat, but we'll see.
  9. I for one would not recommend either inquiries. Your Ego (purchased here or otherwise) will totally out perform what your looking at. Your looking at anywhere between 150mah to possibly 380mah as compared to either a 650, 900, 1000mah Ego. You may tire quickly in charging batteries every two hours vs once per day. Cartridge holds the juice. Prefilled cartridge just means someone placed their own juice into the cart vs you filling a blank one. I find no advantage in buying pre-filled carts, especially when starting out. If you end up not liking the juice.....your off in a hurry to buy some blanks and juice anyway.
  10. Another vote for juice being the most difficult. Only thing I would add is the cartomizer (delivery device) should be kept small volume IMHO. Nothing like filling a 3.0ml juice carto with something you don't like? Get some 510 Boge 2.0 and you can toss them (or rinse them out) after trying your juice. Nice carts here for trying juices as well. http://crystalclearvaping.3dcartstores.com/15-CCV-Mega-LR-17-THE-RESURRECTOR_p_47.html Good luck and great people here to assist in your journey.
  11. Have 3 flavors coming from Vermillion River and should be here in a couple days. Spoke with the main man over there today and can't wait to try them. The only taste I've never grown tired of is Captain Delight from Vape the Rockies, and is my hands down all day vape. If you enjoy tobacco blends and Cavendish processing of sweet leaf pipe vape?......this is great stuff. Anxious for getting the Kentucky from VR. I'll watch this thread and possibly chime in with an opinion in a few days.
  12. Yet to expereince one dual coil which outperformed a single coil....given the matching ohms to resistance. If asked directly? I'd advise a new vapor person to stick with 2.0 Boge, with standard Ego type battery. JMHO, DC has done nothing to impress.
  13. Nice find Jeff. I had to run to the site and found them at 119.95 for the blemished. Hmmm.......may not find that again for a while. Nice deal.
  14. Agreed. Have a couple of paperclips for this purpose. Run it through the battery end while wiggling it around a little. Sometimes this will actually move the vertical wire just a bit and it will hit better than new. Vaping and carto's = must have paperclips.
  15. Welcome. Kinda new here myself but been vaping for near two years. Yep. That 3 piece Joye is long gone but worth every effort. It's a nice forum and people here are genuine for help. Congrats!
  16. This is proven big time true. Always use condom method on first fill when possible. Obtaining a few clear carto's had me convinced even more, as filling them with Luer cap bottle showed just how much of the filler does not get juice into it on the initial fill. Very nice advice from King to flip them over (battery side up) after filling and let them sit for at least 10-15 minutes.
  17. Your welcome Jen. We're behind you here and will help all we can. Goodness knows I leaned on many a vapor person when starting out. 90% of Joye tank atties have worked out great for me, but I did have one as you describe and it's a bummer for sure. When I saw the thin rope, it was apparent this particular unit was never going to be right. I just took the next atty that went south....and put the wick plate from it, into the troubled bad wick unit. Sometimes I'm in the mood to mess around with them in this way....sometimes they hit the graveyard box. Especially after watching the battery get saturated, sticky clean up, and juice cost loss. Nothing a warmed brownie and dollop of vanilla ice cream won't cure? (and back up cartos) Vape on...........
  18. I agree. Your troubleshooting advice is exactly how I would go about it. Gotta switch stuff around with these things in order to eliminate one by one. Having taken several of these apart it became real obvious the lack of QC at the plant. Some of this "rope" wick should have been discarded towards the end of the run as it got too thin for placement in the spike. It's a very innovative design that needs a bit of tweaking. Hope we get a version 2? Sometime down the road? Vape on and thanks!
  19. While mjradik is correct in all points on the tank, and definitely the silicone cap advice......I can say for almost certain your wick is down way too far in the spike. This type of flooding and leaking is excessive for the tank cap to be the issue IMV. Nothing will solve this except pulling the plate and carefully pushing the wick back up. Some of them are thinner in composition and wick volume (rope is not thick enough) and if it's also down in the spike, it's trouble in Denmark. You will fight this until frustration forces you to pull the plate, or replace the atty. At somewhere between .60-.90 per ml for liquid? It may be better to replace the atty. Each leaking and flooding is costing you 1-2 ml of liquid and this wick may not have the heftiness to ever be quite right (which is why it slipped down on you in the first place) even after the wick adjustment. Wish I held better news and I agree to have some cartomisers on hand for these situations. Tank as primary device=back up cartos. You'll get it all down, and tank atty is awesome when working correctly, PITB if not..........
  20. Agree with Brian. Remove the inner baffle from the mouthpiece tank, for sure. I then leave the outer one on and use a Q-tip to remove condensation from the tip......when necessary.
  21. I'm with John, and very happy with this vendor. The Ressurector has replaced the beloved Boge 2.0, due to increased juice capacity; and even though it's lower in resistance.....it gives off a cooler vape for me at 3.2 volts/Ego. Mod vaping at 3.7 is a nice sweet spot. Dual coils have not revealed any advantage for this vapor person. The 15 carto deal and free drip tip is a hard to beat deal. Fast ship, nice customer service, choice of steel or black cart combo, and overall top notch seller. Very legit.........
  22. Here's a little trick with the Ego T.......Wick adjustment on these can be tedious when starting out. If you notice one is clogging up and hard to draw? It's flooding and needs the wick pushed up in the spike. However, instead of doing this, you can run the higher VG (50/50 mix) and it will slow the feed down. If it's dry burning and giving a foul taste? The wick is not feeding fast enough and needs pushed down in the wick tube. Solution is to run the higher PG (thinner mix) through this atty for speeding up the feed. It's one of those push/pull type of things, but often the described attempts can save you from pulling the plate and messing with anything at all. Most of them are set just right (genuine Joye) and you can run either mixture just fine. And being a pure water drinker myself?......I still take in a few extra glasses a day since vaping. Hope this helps and congratulations on your accomplishments. Vape on.......
  23. Baby Rib juice? Now that's something I'd like to try but would not risk ordering it as it would probably not edge into the top five. However, I have been surprised a few times (both pleasant, and unpleasant) and taste is so varied............. Far as buying juice too expensive in the beginning? It's not such a bad thing if your getting off analogs and searching for the right combo. I spent way too much on stuff in the beginning but it was well worth throwing the nasty's away. Even now, some people will see the Ego with delivery device and wonder what that thing is? They have never seen an e-cig that does not look like the mall walk, or normal white analog type electronic. Thank goodness for the forums and people who are in the know and can help? Vape on............
  24. Steeping is simply allowing the juice to age as in a good wine. Some juices (and complete vending lines) almost require a few days/weeks of aging process for the ingredients to gel and produce the targeted flavor result. Most all of us have purchased a juice which tastes near awful upon receiving, but after a few days or weeks becomes most delicious. We know those juices by now and during this aging process I will personally grab the bottle every once in a while and give it a shake. Probably for no reason other than mental anticipation? I order from 3 different vendors that require this process, and a couple which do not.
