Is it a subox Nano or a Topbox Nano? The only difference is the Topbox Nano is top fill, and TC.

If it is TC, if you hit the fire button 3 times it will change modes, similar to the old days of hitting the fire button 5 times to turn it on or off.

OMG you are SO right. My other 3 are subox Nanos but I had ordered this one later and it is a Topbox not a Subox. I want to thank everyone who pitched in your knowledge and advice. Because of your help I went and pulled the Topbox out of the dead drawer I put everything I don't know what to do with and followed your advice and successfully pushed the fire button 3 times and WALA! my Topbox now looks familiar like my Suboxs. I like this type of setting much more then the other. So that this does not happen again, if I understand correctly, I need to press and hold the up and down buttons at the same time until I see a picture of a lock on the display? Once again thank you all so much. I just don't know what I would do without yall : )

  2. For over a year now I have changed from the eGo type batteries to boxes and currently Kangertech Subox nano. I have never had this problem before and hope I never do again. I have always used my batteries/mods just as they come in. The only readings I know are somewhere from 10 to 45. Somehow on my black one I pushed the wrong button too many times or for too long because the only readings I can get on it now is 200 to 300 and I cant use it because it is too hot. I see some of yall talking about there being different modes they can be set in and I think that is what I have done. Would someone kindly tell me how to get my device back to original settings. I sure would appreciate it.

That's odd. I've got some VT e-liquid here that's almost 4 years old and other than being a bit cloudy, looks almost the same. It shouldn't turn black...

Hi Chris. I received the 2 bottles of juice I purchased on the going out of business sell because once its gone its gone and its my FAVORITE. But the  Born date of both bottles are 2014. Has no expiration date. I guess I don't have to worry about letting it steep. LOL

  4. Thanks a lot for the great information. One thing the article talked about was taking out your coils and cleaning them. I have in the past cleaned  coils that are working perfectly and I have been using but if I was going to change liquids and wanted to get the old juice flavor out, I will put a clean one in at the moment but put the one im going to clean one up until I need another coil. I have always been told to rinse with hot water, soak in alcohol overnight, rinse thoroughly with hot water again and let dry completely before reusing. Other then that if I can make a coil last until I am changing juice and it has already served me a month I just change it out to a new coil and trash the old one. If problems like leaking juice, tasting bad or burnt taste, etc. I figure cleaning wont fix that so I put a new coil in and toss the old. These coils are getting so expensive these days. I use to buy a box of 5 for less then $5.00. Now there 12.00 to $15.00 for a box of 5. If you see anything that looks like I could be doing better please advise. I love advice. : )

Maybe it has something to do with the type of juice I buy. I only buy sweet bakery or cappuccino type juices. I have had a bottle or two that does not get THAT dark. Since it burned up my coils like they did I just through them out. So Chris would you still vape juice that is 4 years old as long as it stays clear and does not turn very dark? Most bottles will tell you when the liquid "was born" but no expiration date. Also, with the fact that the places I buy my favorite juices are going out of business would it be safe to buy as much as I can while I can without any worry of it expiring?

They are identical in function... the square OCC are the older version, and the round SSOCC are the newer version with an all Stainless Steel case construction.  The wire inside them are the same regardless of the shape of the coil-head casing, which is probably Nichrome.  If the o-ring seal at the bottom is red, then it is Nictrome.  Blue = Ni200, Black = Clapton (Kanthal), and Pink = SS 316L (for TC)

I personally prefer the square ones with horizontal coils, but they quit making those, and moved to all vertical coils.  But rest-assured, both coils you received are identical in function, and the round ones let you get in a few extra drops of juice in the tank... because they take up less volume.

Hey Earthling, I have not been on the site as much as I use too and I am happy to see you are a Moderator. You were always on the forum giving great education about everything anyway. The color of the o-ring at the bottom of the new ones are red. What is the best color to buy? I've never seen a choice of all you listed above when I bought the coils. I'm sure you know my preference already but I like a tight, not airy drawl. Hot is good but not hot enough to burn my lips. Even the drip tips that came with the Subox Nanos, that I was told was to decrease lip burning still burns my lips and I have to cut it down. Tender lips I guess. Do you have any suggestions on what drip tips are the best for this problem? Thanks again for all your help. Your the BEST!

  7. When I purchased 4 Subox Nano kits I also ordered 2 boxes of the coils they recommended and I have not had any problems, My supply got low so I purchased 4 boxes more boxes from the same site.

The first order came in boxes labeled Kangertech OCC and were square. The second order came in boxes labeled Kangertech SSOCC and are round. Are these both coils for my Tanks and is one type better then the other? Thanks for your advice.

  8. Back when I first started vaping about 5 years ago I was using tanks like Provari and I remember we had a lot of discussion about how the elder vapors suggested to just throw the coils away that came with the tanks as replacements because they were no good. Does anyone still feel the same is true now?  I  bought  4 new top fill tanks for my Subox Nanos and I used the replacement coils that came with the tanks and already after just 2 tanks of juice the coils are tasting burnt no matter what I try. Anybody else still having that problem?

  9. WOW, great question. I started smoking when I was 12 years old and smoked until I was 50 years old. I had tried gum, patches and medicine and nothing worked. On my 50th birthday my girlfriend pulled into a convenient store and brought out one of those single vapor sticks (cant remember the name) and said "just try it". I right away knew that I could replace smoking with this vapor stick and I threw away the pack I had and never smoked again and that was over 5 years ago.  WHORAY!! 😊

  10. Thanks a bunch yall. I still have the o - rings that came with them in their kits because unfortunately I do not know how to change the. But all of your suggestions gave me an idea. First, Im going to try to find a Utube showing the directions on how to change the o - rings and one on how to put a tank back together once it is in multiple pieces. I have 3 new ones coming from the Vapor Store that Im going to put on the minute they get here because they are top fill. Is there any change I need to make to the tank to use the top fill? Yall are the best. Thank you!

  11. Good morning Christopher. I found, what I hope, are the correct tanks in the Vapor Store yesterday and they were top filled, which is great and I ordered 3 of the only colors you have available so if you do find some white or pink in the warehouse would you swap out the colors out for me? Top fill only. If not don't worry about it the ones I ordered will do. The only problem is that I needed pink, white and purple but all that was available was black, stainless and purple. I really like these subox Nano mods and tanks. I think I just bought from a place that sold me clones and that's why all my tanks are falling apart. And from listening to the response I received from fellow vapor talkers a lot of people like them so would it be possible to add the pink and white tanks? I think that covers all the colors. Thanks for listening.

  12. A while back I purchased 3 of the Subox Nano Kits from another store and the tanks have not held up well. I need to buy 3 replacements and noticed in the Vapor Store that they have the Subox Nano tanks that are top fill. The ones in the kit were bottom fill. Will the top fill tanks work with the mods that came in the kits? I really would prefer the top fill because the bottom fill is what is breaking down on the bottom fill tanks. If they will not work for my mods please any suggestions as to where to find the tanks I need I really will appreciate it.  Reply as soon as you can as I am down to 1 half, leaking working tank. And thank you for the help.

Yes, storing your e-liquid in the fridge is a great way to make it stay fresh longer... but only if you don't plan on vaping that bottle for a couple of years.  I do keep my mixing supplies in the fridge (and freezer) to prolong their lives, but we're talking GALLONS of supplies, not 30ml bottles.  now, if I mix a batch of 1-liter of e-liquid, and find I don't like it after I've vaped it for a couple months... I may store the remaining dozen 60ml bottles in the fridge so they won't go bad until I decide they're worth vaping again... but even when I mix up my ADV (yes, usually in 600-900ml batches), I don't store them in the fridge... they're on a shelf in my office, which is cool and dark... and I'll normally go though those 10-15 60ml bottles in a few months... so they don't go bad while waiting to be vaped.

As for batteries... the old-school dry-cells made prior to the 1970's did "last longer" if they were kept cool, like in the fridge, but today's more advanced Alkaline batteries aren't helped in the least (usually harmed as @Bebop stated above) by putting them in the fridge.  As long as they are kept cool... like normal room-temps... they'll be just fine in storage for more than 5 years.

On a side-note... I bought a box-lot of vintage cameras a few years ago, and the Brownie camera flash had EveryReady batteries in it... from the early '50s... and they STILL WORKED to power the flash bulbs, and hadn't leaked in 60+ years of storage in someone's basement!

Yes, Earthling, that was the learning years from my dad. 70's and 80's. Thank you for getting me straight on that issue, you and Bebop. I wont tell my kids know that yall said that though. They are grown and when they come to visit they make fun of me for keeping my batteries in the refrigerator. And I will always say" Daddy told me that and daddy was always right". I miss that old man. Thanks for the info about extending the life of my juice. I'm big on buying up on juice when they offer great holiday sales so I have some in there that is over a year old but they are in dark bottles and never been opened. Halloween is coming and I'm on the look out for the sales to hit anytime.

Light, heat, and Oxygen are the things that degrade a juice.  Nicotine is usually the first thing to go (dark color) due to Oxygenation.

Generally, juices are good for a couple of years after they are mixed, and yes, if you keep the lids sealed tightly, dark colored bottles, away from heat and light... they will last longer than 2 years... how much longer?  I guess it will depend on the flavorings, VG/PG ratio, Nicotine %, and of course, the quality of your ingredients.

Do yall think it would stay fresher in the refrigerator since heat seems to be a degrading factor? I know my dad always kept his batteries in the refrigerator because he said it made them last longer and now I keep all my batteries in the refrigerator. Thanks for the reply guys!

  15. I know that it is best to leave juice in a dark cool place to help it to stay good longer but I was wondering if I keep the plastic wrap on and never open it until I've used up all the opened juice would it last longer? Also, does the dark bottles help it to last longer? Not all juices put an expiration date on them and every now & then I'll grab a bottle that's been open in the drawer for a long time and it will be thick as syrup. Now this juice I HAVE to use in my Kangertech Subox Nano tanks with the big coils. They stop up my Protank and Kangertech coils in one tank use. Its true the taste does get better with age. I've never had juice long enough that it tastes bad.

  16. Hello All,

I have learned if I can hold off until holidays I could get juice and equipment a lot cheaper. So, if Admin does not mind I thought it would be cool if we start posting sales that you come across here. I know the places I shop, always online, send me emails if they are having a sale so when I see them I will pass the information over to yall through this post and I will appreciate it if you do the same. This way everybody can save. HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN!!

Agreed.  I think the Horizon Arctic is the only tank that uses the Arctic coils.  I have tried them in my Herakles and Silo Beast with no luck.

If you happen to have any Atlantis coils in that "save for when you need it drawer", those will work in a lot of tanks.

Cool. Thanks for the great information. I have never bought a Horizon Arctic tank so I guess there they will stay unless one comes into my future.  They look like they would be expensive too. Have a great day

  18. Hey Tam. It looks like some Eleaf MELO tanks that I have that are still in the box but the Arctic coils are smaller then the MELO spare coils that came with the tanks and I don't have any Horizon Arctic tanks. I believe I ordered extra coils when I bought some tanks and they sent me the wrong coils. Probably was the MELO tanks because they are still in their box so I have not had the chance to try them yet. I wish they made coils that worked with multiple tanks like when the Protank 2s (I think) came out the coils fit Evods and then Some Protank coils also fit the Aerotanks. It would make it so much more simple and more cost effective.
