  1. Happy Slip or Bubble Wrap? Yeah, I always had a fondness of bubble wrap as a kid, would drive my parents insane.
  2. The threads I pulled out of the older atty, didn't really improve, if anything it just gave it a more odder taste, I'm guessing some threads seems to have lodged itself with the coil. The other 2, didn't seem to do any difference to vapor production, if anything, it was more of a weirder taste then before.
  3. Hey Fatalis, there is the VP1, it's not too phallic looking, it's native 801 atty but you can get a adapter for either a 510 or 901. There is also the Janty eGo (props to Ofortuna for showing me this!) It's has a long battery life from what I understand. And it's a 510 atty, I believe. I believe these units are long performers, so don't think they go above 4volts but I hear it's a consistent vape. I'm not very familiar with anything higher then 4 volts vape except maybe prodigy and the silver bullet? But those are pretty.... phallic looking. Seems more mods higher then 4 are just giant dills. Also, only one I know that switches between 4 and 5 is the VPPT, through USB it's about a 4, while out the wall socket it's a 5.
  4. I finally saw the threads or wicks, I had my attys turned down ward to drain the juice and today when I lifted it to get it ready to vape, I noticed threads dripping down off the bridge. I thought it was cart filling that got stuck on the bridge, but when I pulled it out and it was like a burnt string, this had to be the thread/wick I heard about in this posting! So weird, how I happen upon this thread knowing nothing only to see this for myself now!
  5. Term they use when getting juice in your mouth is "juiced". It's a nasty experience! But I've learned to avoid it, instead of taking the drags like you would normally with analogs, take slow long hits, gathering the vapor in your mouth, then inhale. Works better for me that way, and I don't get the juice in my mouth.
  6. Yeah, it's so weird, when you need a light, you can never find it. But now that I don't smoke analogs, I've just been finding them left and right! I have a few ceramic ashtrays and a coffee can outside I used to have to use as an ashtray, now it's empty and I use the ceramic ashtray as a coaster for my cold drinks
  7. Oh wow, awesome vid. Disregard, my post, Brian. Never saw these threads before... then again I have 901, only 1 901 had the same type of design shown in the video.
  8. Whoa, I didn't know Zippos had a lifetime warranty. I have one that is dented in so the cover doesn't cover correctly. Then again, that dent gave it a type of personality, so not sure if I'd want to fix it.
  9. When you say wick, I'm assuming the mesh bridge within the atomizer? I believe the wick is there to protect the atomizer heating coil, the juice is actually being cooked on the mesh. I'd imagine if you remove that, you'll get the heating coil covered with burnt gunk and that might kill the atomizer or prevent it from heating up properly. I remember seeing images of a exposed heating coil from a 510 filled with crystallized juice (or was it filaments from the cartridge, not sure) the heating coiled burnt. I'm no expert, so I wouldn't know.
  10. Yeah, I can never throw away a Zippo! Like you said, like a rare coin! My knock-off Zippos usually had a broken top, that's how cheap they were... I have a really rare one that my uncle (Marines at the time) gave to my dad (Army), which was my grandfathers (Pathfinder scout during WW2), it had the marines emblem with the eagle on the globe. It was really old, I remember playing around with it as a kid and almost setting the house on fire.
  11. Haha, indeed! Never thought to look in the car, I'm sure I have a few 'backup' lighters in there somewhere. I usually got a free lighter for every carton I bought from my local smoke shop. It all started when I found a few lighters around my desk. One led to another and so on, so grabbed all of the ones I can find and placed them into a ziplock bag. I'm sure, eventually, the lighters will be useful again... like for lighting birthday candles, killing bugs or... something.
  12. Funny you mention lighters! I was putting these away earlier! Sorry for crappy quality, had it on my phone and was sending to someone. Uh, I took a look at the picture again and I have some 'explicit' lighters in there. Please excuse those, didn't mean to show those off, not like I do what any of them say.
  13. Hi Uma, and welcome! Shortbridge refers to the mesh within the atomizer. Most mesh sits high, don't be afraid to ask as many questions you can think of, a lot of the members will definitely help!
  14. Hi Leah! Welcome to the forums, I have to agree with Keneen - he pretty much nailed everything. Awesomevapor.com has the 3 major units on their site, ones you might want to look into, Arno is great and has helped me a lot! After awhile, you will want to get a more powerful unit. But for now, might want to try out the 510. There will bumps in the roads, I know there has been some for me. There were moments where I felt the need to just buy a pack of cigarettes but haven't cause of the time and money I've already invested in Vaping. Now I'm smoke for almost 2 months! I even find myself not even vaping for the whole day.
  15. How can you post such horrifying pictures... This is just so wrong.
  16. I've tried pretty much the same set of sites as well, Derrek. It's either I don't meet the requirements some employers have or the ones I'm looking for aren't available. Very frustrating, sucks being part of the 13% in California's unemployment rate. Even went and tried looking at Craigslist, I'm really hoping the economy gets back to normal, was so much fun freelancing from home.
  17. Hey! Thanks guys. @Chris - Thanks, I've conditioned myself to remove atties from batteries and the pass-through ever since a few batteries died due to juice flowing in when I had them assembled so didn't want to go through that again. It's a good thing I caught this when I did, I was just about to head to the bathroom when I felt heat resonating from the atty. I was more shocked at how hot it got, it felt like I was touching a frying pan. I was sure the light wasn't on but kept hearing the buzzing sound. Even hit the switch a few times, I had to unplug it to stop the damn thing. These things are POS quality for sure. @Brian - I'm certainly convinced that this Chinese pass-through killed my 2 atties, these 2 atties I had were in perfect condition before putting it on the Chinese PT. I wish I knew earlier, I just simply thought that atties ran it's course.
  18. Heard the stories before, but didn't think it was a common thing... I was watching a movie on my computer, vaping away on the Chinese manual pass-through. I kept it in my hands as I watched the movie, didn't put it down, then noticed heat come out of the atomizer. I looked at the pass-through, the light wasn't on. But I heard the little noise it makes, when a current is running when you press the button. It was still on!! Pressed the button, nothing, then I went to unscrew the atomizer and the damn thing was super hot!! I almost drop the pass-through right there! I suspect the killing of 2 of my atties may have been this pass-through! I manage to save the atty, lucky, I'd had just drip a few drops and filled the cart up with juice but it was all dry of juice! I let it cool and it still vaped, thank god, it was a new atty also. Hope it doesn't ruin it. One thing is for sure, I'm NOT going to be using these POS Chinese pass-through, going to place an order for the VP-PT tomorrow. This certainly scared the hell outta me. So from now on, I'm going to unscrew the atty's when I'm not using them for long periods of time...
  19. A few friends and family members kept sending this to me, thought it was some new rickroll or something, but the reason being they send it to me is it appears he has a electronic cigarette...while singing in the shower. Looks like an 801 to me.
  20. I hear ya, I felt insulted during a get together on christmas day, my other uncles was smoking outside. And saw me vaping, he told me that it was a fake cigarette and didn't really count as quitting, if I wanted to quit I would've stopped all together, he said. He made it sound so easy. But he did have a point, but my point now was that I quit smoking those analogs and looking forward to a healthier life, eventually I'll go down 0MG and maybe MAYBE even quit vaping, just to show that old coot!
  21. My 2009 resolution was to quit smoking, lose weight, get a entry level into a game design studio I was aiming for (which I never got due to recession!). I achieved none of these this year. I'm 240lbs and wanted to get back to my nice 164lbs weight. So imagine my disappointment when I couldn't even stop smoking, my first resolution, took me 3 tries in 2009, I loved smoking way too much to quit so wanted an alternative. Thank god for vaping! Now that I've quit cigarettes, I've gained some ground and going to try for the other 2 I haven't even accomplished yet. Now 2010, I want to get at least down to 11MG, 6MG or even 0MG juice and finally lose the damn weight that's been ruining myself esteem for some years now! At least, I can breath a whole lot better now. So those are my new 2010 resolutions.
  22. I thought of glass e-liquid bottles, then though about how much of a hassle it might to transfer drips/juices and the possibly of knocking that sucker over. JUICE IS MORE PRECIOUS THEN GOLD! Arno's jugs are great! And it's a great value, love how just well they've worked for me for the amount of juice they have, can't go wrong with Awesome Vapor! And Chris' are a grade A+ juice and the bottles with child proof caps I really dig. Best looking and most tasty juice I've ever had!
  23. From what I heard, 3.7 volt is a good all around vape with good battery life depending on how much you vape. While 5 volt is great for direct dripping, but heard that as well, that 5 volt can burn up faster so if you have a heavy finger, it can kill the taste. But I dunno... Chris pretty much nailed it.
