  1. Mine does that - it has from day one. It usually does it when the battery is completely drained, and then stops after the battery has built up a little charge. As I understand it, this is completely normal for this kind of charger.
  2. There are plenty of complaints about the Lavatube on this board that I have read $60 is a good price point for the kit, absolutely. But it is $60 that I would be throwing away. The Lavatube doesn't fill a niche that I need filled. I have an Ipro, which from what I can see is a superior mod, I have a basic 3.7v Tube mod, and I have a LEO. The Lavatube doesn't give me anything I don't already have/need. Maybe when I get to the point where I am buying mods just for the hell of it, I'd plunk down the $60, but for now I'd rather put that $60 towards something I don't already have. Right now, outside the epipemod, a box mod is about the only other thing I can see that fills a niche that I don't have. And I've seen some decent looking ones for around $60 as well.
  3. Well, I have a Leo atty that is probably trash since I never use it, and didn't realize you needed to store it "moist." Maybe I will experiment tonight while I am waiting for the new 510 atty to arrive.
  4. Perhaps a dumb question, but if those parts get in the way - why do they include them in the first place?
  5. I know what you mean. I've just been lucky with a few freelance gigs, and while I probably SHOULDN'T spend the money, I've been giving up all my free time, so I want a toy, damn it!
  6. And it's only been an hour! So I've been thinking that I want to get a new mod - I very much enjoy what I have, but more variety is always good, and I am ready for another one. But what to get? The problem was, pretty much everything I looked at either didn't appeal to me (Lavatube), or is very similar to what I have already. Pulling out my old DSE601 was an inspiration. I hated that damned thing - I was too new a vaper for the device, and even now, thinking of it, I don't even want to bother with it. I am not a fan of cartridges, and the device itself (if working as intended) just doesn't seem like it would have a long lifespan. At least I got a pair of 18350 batteries out of that mess. ANYWAY - I remembered something I read a long time ago that said ePipeMods.com was able to mod these somehow to make them usable. So I decided to email them and ask about it. Long story short there, they DON'T do that, so that is still a dead end. Still no idea what to do with this damned thing It did remind me that I wanted a functional pipe mod - so my decision was made. I decided on a pipe mod from epipemods, with a churchwarden stem... Only EVERYTHING was out of stock. They replied to my inquiry quickly... it appears they are in production of "Version 2" (whatever that is), and it won't be out until April. So now that I know what I want - I can't get it for at least two months. Damn it....
  7. I think you are going to have to expand on dewick/debridge for me. I know it requires pulling something out with tweezers, but I don't know enough about the anatomy of an atty to even attempt that....
  8. eLiquids are like candy. Have you ever looked at what each color of Skittles or Starburst is supposed to taste like? Would you ever know? The flavors people tend to like are the ones that end up reminding them very strongly of the flavor it claims to be. But there are many flavors I enjoy that taste nothing like what they are supposed to. As far as your other issues, if you want to switch flavors a lot - cartos might not be the best thing. You can do that thing if you want to get as much juice out as possible though - I don't bother with it, but other people swear by it.
  9. Well, I did order the adapter, but now I am thinking I don't need it. Both my Ipro and my ego tube mod have enough space beneath the connector for the drip shield. I guess I will have it if I need it. I will wait on "The universal" a bit, depends on if dripping drives me crazy or not
  10. So the drip shield automatically pulls the leaked juice back in? I guess I am trying to figure out the mechanics of it all. If I am going to try this out, I want to make sure my experience is as good as it can possibly be. I wasn't impressed before, and don't want to find I don't enjoy it because I am doing it wrong. Does the adapter cause any loss of power? And is it always necessary?
  11. It does! I will be most likely dripping on my Ipro, but I think that qualifies as "sealed" for the purpose of your reply Yes, I am using a 510 atty. So no drip shield needed. I take it other atty's leak?
  12. Well, I did watch it... it didn't really answer much though. It pretty much told me everything I already know about dripping... As far as video vs. text... video is helpful for some things, but for the information presented there... I could type all that out in about a quarter of the time it took, and read it in less than a minute. Not to dismiss the value of videos at all - but there is still a lot of value in text-based FAQs Yeah, I really am that busy to where 7 minutes actually matters. Sad sometimes...
  13. Oiy, who has time to watch a video!
  14. I had a similar experience with cigarettes... only I wasn't vaping then. I tried one after about 6 months of cold turkey, and it was the most vile thing I have ever tasted. I have the opposite reaction these days to my pipe. Vaping has absolutely killed my need to smoke it every night like I used to, but my one bowl a week (that was last night) has become something I really look forward to and enjoy. I don't feel the instant need to load up another bowl, and I don't find myself craving it at all, but I definitely look forward to and enjoy it. It's a treat - the way it should be.
  15. My one and only exposure to dripping was using my Leo, between the time that I got sick of the carts and got my first cartos in the mail. I was less than impressed. My PV collection has expanded, and I have gotten better at the whole vaping thing, so I decided I should maybe give it another shot. I went and ordered a 510 Atomizer (thought about the LR, but I figured I'd give this a shot first), and a new drip tip (if only to have another toy in the box). Of course, after I ordered, I thought it would be a good idea to solicit advice about what to buy here. Perfectly logical, I assure you. So what do I need to know about dripping? What are the drip shields I keep hearing about, what purpose do they serve, and where do you get them? How many drops do you drip at a time, and how long should that last? How do you know when you need to drip again? How precise do you need to be with your drops?
  16. I get about the same - a little less when I chain vape. I keep thinking about buying a new vv mod, but the Ipro really does it for me already. I look at something like the Lavatube, and I find myself annoyed reading about the "limitations" that are on it as a "plus" for "my protection." I like the analog wheel - I would find the buttons annoying. Probably a good thing for my wallet.
  17. Congrats on the Ipro! I enjoy mine. Though my eye is starting to wander... I just got my eGo tube mod, and while I like it, it definitely didn't displace my Ipro, thanks in large part to the vv. The Ipro is a great little device.
  18. It sounds more to me like something was failing in the Buzz... and the carto isn't to blame. Sadly, these things happen with electronics...
  19. I'm more worried about the FDA vaping a rat to death, and using it as proof that vaping is bad for you.
  20. Well, to be fair - you didn't notice any immediately harmful effects from smoking cigarettes. It is over time that the damage to your lungs becomes an issue. Some is used in some flavors already, but it isn't the best idea to add to it. Opinions vary, of course. I prefer to err on the side of caution - I think it is far safer to add a little nicotine to improve TH than to add more alcohol.
  21. The prevailing trend in medicine these days is to attribute smoking as the cause of death to any smoker. Even if they are 90 years old, and their body in general was dying out. If they smoked, and that at all contributed to their body failing, then smoking is the cause. Period. Forget the fact that they still lived a full and generally healthy life. I take health warnings (especially the dire ones) regarding smoking with a grain of salt. It is politically fashionable to demonize smokers, and everything related to it. Is smoking dangerous? Absolutely. But the fact is, some people's bodies can process the garbage, and some can't. If you live to 90, and smoked your whole life, and eventually died from lung cancer ... I don't count that as smoking killing you. Something else probably would have a week later if the lung cancer didn't get you. Is second hand smoke deadly? Unless you are in an enclosed space with a smoker with no ventilation days on end, no, it doesn't. Car exhaust is more harmful, and people don't die young because of their daily commute. Smoking is bad, and there are a lot of things in cigarettes which could kill you. But the dire warnings about particular ingredients are sensational, and overkill. You could pick apart everything we are exposed to in life, and find something about it that might eventually cause some kind of health problem if exposed in high enough doses. Remember - they determine these ingredients are potentially dangerous by giving tiny animals doses hundreds of times greater than anything you will ever be exposed to, and seeing what happens.
  22. I don't recommend adding alcohol to your juice - it isn't very safe at all. I do occasionally vape 0mg... but 6mg is much better. I don't like a ton of throat hit, but with no nic it feels like you are vaping nothing. That's fine for me, occasionally... but you need a little something. Vaping 0mg at high voltage (warmer vapor) helps a little, but I'd recommend sticking to 6mg, unless you want off the nicotine all together. Even if you are quitting the nic, it is better to start with a tiny bit, and eventually sneak some 0mg into your rotation.
  23. I did the same thing with a syringe after my accident with the French Toast juice. Worked great - but really more of a hassle than anything. It seems the drip tips are the same size as Mon & Pops... so I may just transfer tips on empty bottles.
  24. pbusardo did a review of it a couple weeks back, and I am intrigued. The 510 connection is both a plus and a minus. I know people didn't like the LEO because of the proprietary threading, but those 4ML cartos are fantastic. Even though I still use my MOD more now with a 510, I always found the airflow in the LEO far more satisfying. And the rubber mouthpiece on those DCCs is still my favorite - I haven't found a tip for a 510 that comes anywhere close.
  25. No no, the real issue is I have decided I hate The Vapor Room's bottles. I love AVE and Mom & Pop Bottles. TVR Bottles just drip too damned slow. When I want to fill up my J-Tank, I actually have to get out a syringe or else it takes all day. That, and the 30ml bottle is perfect for refilling, and I want to transfer some of my Bobas into a 30ml bottle to use, and I am too cheap to buy empties
