  1. http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/good...0100913-gda-sd I just happened to have the TV on Good Day Atlanta this morning, and my ears pricked up when I heard the word "e-cig!" It was refreshing to hear a positive article.
  2. I think you should go with whatever you feel you would enjoy the most. If you find that you love 5v and don't wanna use the Ego anymore, trade or sell the Ego and get you more 5v stuff. I bet it would be pretty easy to sell. Or if you are able to afford to do so, maybe give the Ego to someone you know who wants to start vaping. Why would you desire to continue using a model that you do not like as well as another model (if it turns out that you like the 5v way better). Is it a sentimental thing?
  3. Welcome, MaryAnn! I think the very best thing to do is to have an understanding and loving attitude. Addiction is rough. Some people are able to pick up an e-cig and be done with smoking, others take some time to get used to the idea, both smoking AND vaping for a while. Understanding means making sure that vaping supplies are available and accessible, but not pushing, nagging, or acting "miffed" if he reaches for a cigarette. Patience and love are your allies. Remember that you respect your significant other, and if there is naggy mothering going on, he is not going to feel respected, and may well want to smoke more out of spite! PS-- I am NOT insinuating that YOU nag! It's just a mistake that a lot of people DO make when trying to help someone overcome addiction. <3
  4. This post totally made me "move my rear" and get going with some cards. The other day when I posted, I ordered some freebies from vistaprint.. They are nice and all, they have all the pertinent information, BUT the colors and "feel" aren't exactly JL. Plus they won't be here for 20 days.LOL My thought was that if I saw that they improved business significantly, then I'd get something more "us." Sooooo today I did lots of shopping around and ordered some custom ones with our logo & colors, and I am so excited! I can't believe we've never done this. They are beautiful cards, if I say so myself! I am dying to show MrJaaxx (I have the digital proof) but instead I told him that we have a surprise coming in the mail. *wink* They should be here Monday or Tuesday.
  5. You can do it! I do believe, like others have said, that you have to be understanding with yourself, and NOT give up even if you do give in and have an analog (not that you will). I think that is a key element in quitting smoking. It's the same with losing weight, IMO.. Someone eats well and exercises and is feeling good about the weight loss thing and then they have a big ol slice of cake, become discouraged with themselves and go right back to old eating habits full-time. Or if the weight isn't coming off quick enough they give up and go back to the old habits. Better to go, "Dang, that was a yummy slice of cake! I'll have to eat more carefully this week and maybe spend a little extra time at the gym!" Whether it be smoke cessation or any type of major lifestyle change, just remember to be kind and patient with yourself, as you would with anyone else that you love and cherish.
  6. Not to defend shoddily made expensive e-cigs, BUT I bet the rental for a mall kiosk is phenomenal. One would be forced to incorporate some of that cost into the price of the unit.
  7. I don't know that I have a favorite, but I really enjoy Dean Koontz. I love to read, but as crazy as it sounds, it is almost a problem when I get started on a good novel.. I can't put it down. Like I will try to read at red lights and at night until I can't hold my eyes open anymore-- it's ridiculous. It starred out what community your writing is geared to, Jag. It's not just jumping out at me, I'm going to need a hint. I'm thinking *** but I doubt the forum software would censor that. Holy cow, I guess I don't need a hint-- it censors the most acceptable word for homosexual.
  8. I don't have a lot to add, but as far as identifying what carts are what, a dot of fingernail polish will do the trick. Different color dot for each flavor. I do this with batteries, too, based on when I put them in rotation. This way I know that the ones with the red dots, for example, are the older batteries, newer ones have a pink dot, etc.
  9. We're penguins at my house. Currently running Mint.
  10. About halfway down the page, this article from snopes.com mentions it and says it is a myth. http://www.snopes.com/business/alliance/menthol.asp Their sources are listed at the bottom-- I will see what I can come up with from those as well. Here is another link: http://www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/15867.htm
  11. Haha! I swear that stairs layout is a deathtrap! My parents' house had that going on, and I can't tell you how many times my half-asleep self came down the steps and stepped down on the narrow corner of where the two bottom steps happen and busted my rear.
  12. Well, I'm glad you commented today because your avatar made me smile. Loving the alien with the green LED e-cig.
  13. LOL I sent an email using the contact us link to let the creator of the site know about my comments and I mentioned that I wrote them on a few forums, including here-- so maybe he will check it out.
  14. Good-ecig.info A forum is awesome for answering e-cig questions, but for someone who had only just HEARD of e-cigs, they can be intimidating and overwhelming. Where to start?? This is my favorite site to send people who are very new to the e-cig or have not yet heard of it. There is enough information to get the basic idea, with links in case the user wants to learn more. In this way, the reader is not instantly overwhelmed with tons and tons of info, but has all the resources readily available. It gives a general idea of what price should be like, hopefully saving people the experience of being ripped off by a heavily marketed way overpriced model. It also does not endorse any particular site, brand, or model, which, IMO makes it more "trustworthy" in the eyes of a new user, because they are not trying to sell you anything, just spreading the knowledge.
  15. I love it! And I can't drive by an old rickety barn full of stuff way out in the middle of nowhere without going, "PICKERS!" I also like the Pawn shop show.
  16. If you have a tobacco flavor liquid that you enjoy, you can add menthol drops. (A drop at a time, or you can end up with vicks vapor rub!) This will give you a real menthol taste and feel rather than the minty or spearminty taste that some of the menthol flavored liquids have.
  17. Mailmen the world over are sighing with relief!
  18. I have not heard about nicotine OD from e-cigs, ever! (I will find the thread here and check it out momentarily.) But analogs cause cancer. In many, many well-documented cases. And emphysema. If you are basing your decision on health risks of each product (analogs vs. e-cigs) it just seems like, with all due respect, cigarettes wouldn't be the safer of the two. It almost sounds like your addiction is talking to you, trying to talk you out of quitting.
  19. Is your bubble recipe the same as the one I linked to? I have not tried that one yet. Since your recipe is tried and true (15 ft bubbles, WOW!) would you be willing to share your recipe here?
  20. Hehe, the uses for this stuff are endless! Just make sure to use the zero nic!
  21. You can make bubbles for the kiddos! http://bubbles.org/solutions/
  22. Is that a "Health" brand e-cig? If my memory is correct, it looks a lot like the Health e-cig that my husband bought from DealXtreme a couple of years ago. It was bad, very bad, and actually ended up MELTING, but I'm very glad he came across it because it was interesting enough and cheap enough for hubby to go ahead and order it. It gave us an idea what vaping is like and spurred us to learn more and more. That is how we were introduced to all that the e-cig world has to offer! It is safe to drip with an exposed atomizer. Much easier to do so than it is to try to hit one that's recessed. I just drop 2-3 drops on there.
  23. I'm following the story (YES, they really should make a TV movie!!). They were there for 19 days before rescue people could get to them, and the first thing they asked for was toothbrushes. There is about a 6 inch wide hole through the mile of rock that is blocking them. Those poor guys don't know yet that it is going to take so long. Evidently a team of psychiatrists figured that it would be best not to tell them at this point.
