  1. Very nice, Chris! I'll definitely be copy/pasting this one. I don't post much at the other forum, mostly just lurk, but ... every once in awhile I say something and this would be great to have in my sig. BTW - that's one seriously cute puppy you have there!!
  2. Sorry - with my company, haven't been on the forum much these last days. However, my darling cat woke me at 5:30 this morning to let me know she was hungry. Getting fired out the door wasn't in her plan! But it has bought me some 'extra' time this morning to poke around before getting ready for work. Like I wanted that! Anyway, here I am now. After a few days, I have to admit that the 401 has 'broken in' and is producing pretty good vapor consistently now. I'm pretty satisfied with it now. Can't believe how small those carts are though! Wow! As far as the syringe goes, the sample pack kit that I bought from Johnson Creek came with all sorts of goodies including a syringe. Although the tip of it needs some filing down or something because it 'grabs' the cart filler and yanks it when pulling it out. Haven't tried it on the 401 carts yet but noticed that when I was trying to refill my pen carts. With those tiny carts way down there, how the heck are you supposed to keep an eye on them when filling so you don't overflow them? I'll check out some threads to see if I can find something on 'filling 401 carts'. Oh yeah, glad to report that my pen seems to be coming back to life again. I think I likely flooded the atomizer on it or something by overfilling carts and over-dripping or something. Had blown the atomizer out and it has been sitting for a few weeks now. Picked it up the other day to show my sister and ... voila! Seems to be working again. My biggest problem now is that I have no juice that I particularly want to top these up with yet. Just not into chocolate, strawberry, etc. Have two 30 ml bottles of TC that I ordered from JC mid-April that I'm still waiting for! Hoping they are here soon. Would also like to get some RY4 as I've heard a lot of people like that one. Anyone know if it is that much different from TC? I prefer to keep more to the 'tobacco' flavored liquids. BTW - that is a great video that ECA has put out with that congressman. Seems like things are getting progressively tighter for all of us getting shipments through Customs. I'm going to start trying to buy as many extra parts and juice as I can afford to try and get a stockpile happening. Anyway, time to go and read through some of the other posts before starting the day. Take care, all! Gotta get my thinkin' cap on re the contest, too! How cool would that be to win an e-cig!
  3. Haven't been around much this last week or so - have to catch up now on what's been happening. That time of year - yard work, garden work, fence building, kids and company ... arghh! Anyway, all's good. Once I decided not to order any atomizer/cart in one e-cigs, went for the M401 as my 'second' model and it arrived on Wednesday. Have to admit I wasn't too impressed at first but had read many times that it needs a few days to fully break in. Being the start of Day 3 now, have to say it seems to be coming around. However the first couple of days had me thinking I'd really buggered up. Inconsistent vape and it didn't seem to matter whether I drew hard or not on it - sometimes it vaped nice and sometimes hardly anything. No real flavor coming through. LED light very dim (it's a green one and am still not impressed with that part). This morning, though, things seem much better. Easier draw, better vape, flavor, etc. so guess it did just need a couple of days. You're so right, though, Chris. Damn hard to beat that penstyle! One of these days I have to spend some serious time working with it and trying to figure out what the blazes I'm doing wrong. Am finding that juice is leaking to the battery although it still charges and works fine - so far. Just can't seem to get vape/flavour issues worked out with it. I imagine I have overfilled carts or dripped too much on the atomizer or something! It's just not working right and I need to get the bugs worked out of it. Now that I have at least a secondary ecig, feel a little bit better about playing with the pen to get it up and running again. I feel for you, Chris, having to go back to analogs! That sucks big time! Hope you get parts SOON. Anyway, while I'm trying to figure out how to get my pen functioning properly again, now I'll have to also figure out how to refill these teeny weeny M401 carts or figure out how much 'dipping' is enough. After my disasterous efforts trying to do both with the pen, I'm a little leery. Can you say 'e-cig challenged'? My sister who is visiting right now is totally impressed with these things and anxious to get one herself now too. Take care everyone. The news isn't looking good from the FDA standpoint so kind of hard to keep the spirits up but ... 'we shall never surrender!' Something this beneficial just has to survive. I'm hoping ...
  4. I found this link on ... well ... on that 'other' forum. You know the one that's not nearly as good this one, right? Anyway, found this link to a story in the LA Times so some of you may have already seen this. Just thought it was kind of neat to read about exactly who and why the e-cig was invented. Also one of the positive newspaper articles in recent times! (sorry can't figure out how to make this 'insert an url' thing work!) http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/na...74.story?page=1
  5. This is one of those MLM things so if you just type InLife ecigarettes into Google you'll come up with a list of websites to visit. Can't remember the specific one that I first looked at that had all the 'good info' on it. And yeah, thought kind of the same that nicotine from any source is still nicotine. And the whole delivery system, etc. etc. Actually compared to some sites out there, their prices, while high, aren't the MOST expensive but ... just can't do that MLM thing!
  6. The first time I ever even heard of an e-cig was someone trying to sell me the (expensive) InLife e-cig. One of things I noted on their website was that their nicotine is derived from vegetable sources (ei eggplant, potato, etc) as, I guess, lots of veggies has a certain amount of natural nicotine in them. I have been wondering lately is this would keep them safe from FDA regulations because it is, in no way, derived from tobacco? What do you think?
  7. Ahhh .... just read through some previous posts and realize that I can truly be comfortable here. A lot of like minded thinkers on this forum. Whoo hoo. I know there are a lot of people out there who are waking up to the fact that 'the times, they are a-changing'. People up here north of the border are still pretty complacent, I think. Figure that no matter what happens down in the US, it would never happen here. All I can say is that they are in for a big shock. Bottom line is that this isn't 'just' the US - it's the whole dang world. I am pretty darned worried about the future my kids are looking at. They're both in their late teen's so wouldn't listen to anything I had to say anyway and far too young to be able to read the signs. Too young, probably, to even realize what they stand to lose. My hubby and I adopted 'later in life' so we're both in our 50's and ... well ... whatever comes around, we'll handle one way or the other. But the young ones ... sigh. Just have to keep focused on the fact that these times, too, shall pass and eventually there's better things coming. But we sure got some stormy weather approaching. Our politics aren't any better than yours either - more laughable if there was anything to laugh about. Bought and paid for like the rest and only too anxious to sell this country down the road. Okay - enough of my rant for the night. Better go and find something to laugh about. And always keep in mind that great saying from one of my personal favorites ' Desiderata' - With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
  8. I'm with ya all the way, Poppa! Not a churchgoer by any means but pretty comfortable with my relationship with the Creator. And you know what they say, there are none so blind as those who do not want to see, right? Besides, people that think like us are just conspiracy theorists or nut cases (some people would argue they are the same thing) and who wants to listen to those kind of people? We're in for an interesting ride ...
  9. Actually my penstyle wasn't from Puresmoker. It was from another supplier up here (Canada). And I busted it ... Just couldn't seem to get the hang of refilling the carts properly, tried dripping and THAT was a total disaster (how could someone not be able to drip a pen, you ask?) and I think my atomizer is shot now. Just a butt ugly vapor coming from the thing now which is a shame because I did love it. My supplier is shut down now and for a whole lot of reasons decided to order this one. I'll let you all know how it works for me when I have a chance to try it out for a few days. As far as shipping goes, well, you're a lot closer to him than I am so you'd probably get it fast.
  10. Yep - after much debate and mostly worries about packages getting through Customs (as there appear to be more and more problems recently) I decided it was safer all the way around to order from within Canada. And, as the supplier list is even shorter these days and I didn't want a DSE 901, decided to get myself an M401. Geez - anything to vape is better than nothing, right? Looking forward to it coming and trying it out. Had absolutely incredible customer service from this supplier, too. It's Sean at electronic-cigz.com if anyone was interested. Sure no complaints there! I fired off a few emails and he was always unbelievably prompt at replying! So ... hoping it all works out.
  11. Well Poppa, it sounds like you and I are on the same page here. Sometimes I think that saying that 'ignorance is bliss' has some merit. However, as much as I feel pretty helpless about what's happening now and what looks like is coming down the pipeline in the future, I'd rather know what the situation is than be blindsided.
  12. Happy birthday there, young fella! Have a great one ... too bad about Vegas, though. Hope this picture worked!! If not, you'll just have to have a non-virtual drink,
  13. Hmm ... and maybe, hopefully, this virtual website will be opening soon in our collective imaginations?
  14. You nailed it, Poppa! This is the best forum with the best people. Mess with one of us, you mess with ALL of us.
  15. Hey, anybody tried to talk to you like you're an idiot, just send them my way!! I don't take nobody treating my friends like that lightly! (Darn - can't get that really good image to load up so you'll have to use your imagination. Think old woman, pms, and a shotgun)
  16. Yeah, figured it wouldn't be an 'easy' answer. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and order another e-cig altogether from someone that isn't likely to be gone. Thanks again. Won't bug you anymore tonight!
  17. Do you know if these two models have interchangable parts (ei atomizers in particular)? The penstyle that I bought has no identifying marks or info on exactly what model it is. I've checked the battery for any little signs/writing/symbols, etc and yes, I even read the manual through but nothing. I've seen this exact penstyle on sites that call it a Joye 302 and again as a DSE 801. It's black with those little circles around the battery. It appears that the supplier I bought it from in Canada may not be around anymore ... at least he has gone from answering my emails extremely quickly to not at all. Hmm. I desperately need to get some spare atomizers and wouldn't mind another battery but now I'm not sure which model to get! Any thoughts on this one? Also the Pee Wee that Puresmoker has looks like it is what I should get my husband - 'looks like a real cigarette' kind of thing. Thanks for that review on it, Chris!

  19. Thank you, Chris! That may very well explain what happened as I was trying VERY hard to make sure I dripped right on the bump. I'm wondering if I was trying to vape a dry atomizer and that was the cause of the horrible smell and taste. A bloody miracle I didn't burn it out altogether. Okay, so maybe I'll try dripping again ... maybe .... someday when I have a spare atomizer.
  20. Thought of opening another account in a new name so that you wouldn't know who wrote this but okay, here is what is probably a really stupid question but I'm wondering ... is it possible to MISS the atomizer when you are dripping? Just wondered if that could be the reason I got such a horrible experience/taste out of it - that I missed the blasted thing completely. It's kind of a long way down the rabbit hole on the penstyle to where that 'bump' is and ... well ... the drops are kind of tiny ... is there a trick to this? It always looks so simple on the videos. If anyone could totally miss the bumpy thing at the bottom, it would be me!
  21. Seems to have been one of those days. To start at the beginning, I've been sampling my 'sample pack' from JC the last couple of days using the carts they send with the kit. Things were going okay though until I started noticing today that the atomizer section was getting really warm. REALLY warm. So then I wondered if I hadn't been putting enough juice in the blank carts which I didn't realize until I pulled one up to see and discovered that, even though 9-10 drops looked like a lot, it wasn't getting any where near to the bottom. Figured maybe that was why the atomizer was getting so warm. So decided to heck with carts. Time to try the dripping method everyone seems to love. So I dropped three drops of the Peach Cobbler with the little dropper that JC sends with the kit. Took out the cart filling. Took a draw and ... YUCK! Horrible taste! When I took the mouthpiece off, the atomizer section was full of horrible smelling vapor. Thought maybe the atomizer was too dry so dripped two more drops in. Same thing. Horrible! Put the cart filling back in, saturated it completely, tried again and, after six or seven bad tasting draws, it finally seems to be ... well ... bearable at least. Not the flavor I was expecting from this one though and still just a touch of ugly smell/taste. I'd like to start dripping as sometimes wonder about the cart filling, what's in it, etc. but can you tell me what I did wrong? How many drops should I be putting in this thing? Could the atomizer section have been getting so warm because I wasn't filling the carts enough and it got too dry? Do you think I've totally screwed the atomizer now? I finally found out what model I have. It appears to be a Joye 301. Nothing in the packaging or instruction manual tells me but the picture is identical with the little round circles on the battery. Thanks in advance to all who answer this ... BTW - I like 'Vapor Talk'! I think it's a great new name for the forum.
  22. Thanks, Royce - that's exactly what I needed to know.
  23. Thanks for the tips, Chris. Just a couple more questions tho! Seeing as how I accidentally topped off my Tennesee Cured cart (love that flavor) with Vanilla Ice Cream tonight, I decided maybe it was time to switch to dripping after all! From what I understand, the two - three drops equals about one cigarette? Do you keep batting in the cart to sort of filter the smoke or take it out altogether? Also, re boiling the atomizer, could you do this when you first get a new atomizer to get rid of that awful primer taste? Or is the primer somehow embedded right in it and nothing but heating it will burn it off? Thanks again for your patience.
  24. Also love JC - both the company and the juice. They are very professional and friendly as a business and their juice is awesome! Of course, I'm also a newbie with no real experience except what came with my starter kit but this is soooo much better. Can tell that Tennesse Cured will become my daily vape juice. Glad you also had a positive experience with them. They have a die hard customer in this old gal!
  25. Happy B-Day, Vacker! Hope you have a great one.
