  1. Hi Madness, I just got a new penstyle and a bunch of spare parts and the high bridge atomizers are part of it. I don't know ... seems like something wierd is going on. For the first week or so, it was heaven. Perfect vapes over and over. No problems whatsoever. Then this past few days, seems like I'm having nothing but problems. I've tried a couple of different atomizers and batteries but seem to be getting that burnt taste no matter what I do after the first couple of vapes. Then yesterday I noticed that I was leaking fluid like crazy between the atomizer and battery. I use carts so don't know what the hell can be the matter. I wasn't having any issues at all with the high bridge and then ... wham! Don't know if I can blame all the problems on this new bridge, though, but something sure has changed. Any ideas about why liquid would pour out the bottom of the atomizer for one? Don't know if there is much that can be done about it as it sounds like most of the new atomizers (at least for the pens) are all the high bridge now. Guess maybe if the manufacturers get enough complaints, they might go back to the low bridge? Chris, I figure I have nothing much to loose at this point so might as well try dripping again. We KNOW how well that worked out with my last pen but ... can't seem to get it working properly now anyway so ... why not?
  2. Yep - got my goodies, too. Shipped from China on the 22nd, notice in my mailbox on the 29th (but, as it was Friday and our postal system doesn't work on Saturdays, had to wait until yesterday to pick them up). Now I definitely know a couple of things. My original penstyle was, indeed, a generic as these batteries, atomizers do have the writing stamped on them in the brass fittings. Secondly ... I really do love my penstyle ecig. Just an old-fashioned kind of gal, I guess. Give me the simple things in life and I'm happy. I was wondering if the charger that came with the generic would work with these DSE batteries as they are so similar. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Reading the specs, the original charger is 3.7V and this new one is 3.6V. Think that makes any difference? Don't want to unnecessarily screw things up but would be cool to be able to charge a couple of batteries at a time. Got a little bunch of extra batteries and atomizers this time too. Just need to get caught short once and you soon learn to have spares around! These new atomizers are the ones with that super high bridge that I've read a lot of people having problems with. So far no issues with me. Those of you who know me know that I'm a 'cartridge' kind of gal as I am useless at dripping. Anyway, like I said, I certainly haven't had any problems with them yet today. Figure if there were going to be issues, they would be pretty obvious pretty fast. Getting used to the TAB flavor I ordered. Funny thing - it is 18 mg and my TC from Johnson Creek was 24 mg but seem to get a lot more kick from this stuff. It's taking a bit to get used to the flavor ... which reminds me. One great thing seems to be that the new atomizer that I've tried so far (except for the one that doesn't seem to be working) has hardly any primer taste to speak of! Bonus!! Anyway, if anyone is interested, I'm finding that this TAB flavor tastes the way 'Drum' tobacco smells when my husband rolls one up and smokes it. But I'm finding I'm getting used to it and I think it's going to be okay. I just can't take any of those fruity/sweet flavors anyway and this one certainly tastes ... well, makes me wonder if this is what tobacco really would taste like without all the chemicals and stuff. But we all know taste is very selective to the user. Will probably order a couple of bottles of flue-cured and maybe some RY4 as I've heard so much about (and it's so cheap from Ruyan Direct) the next time I put in a 'spare parts' order. The really great news is that I couldn't believe how easy it was to wean off the analogs again. Just couldn't get the hang of the M401 or something - just isn't for me, I guess. But I have a friend who seems to think she likes it so maybe it will go to a good home after all. So that's my update on RuyanDirect. Great delivery (actually got to me faster than when I ordered from a supplier in Canada), no real issues except maybe that one atomizer so far but will play around with it a bit yet, the high bridge certainly isn't any issue, the price is right and ... I have my good ole' pen back again! Life is looking up!
  3. Great breakdown, Chris! Hope this thread is a 'sticky' so that it's easy to find and reference in the future. The arguments presented against the e-cig are mis-leading, non-factual, hysterical in some cases and totally out to lunch for the most part due to ignorance, ulterior motives by government and BT and BP and that sector of the rabid anti-smoking lobby. You bring up great information on each of the main points. Thanks, Chris.
  4. Hello all ... been missing in action these last days. Blame a routine dental appointment gone terribly wrong for it. However nothing that antibiotics and getting festering stitches out isn't going to help! Anyway, I said that I would update all regarding an order I placed with Ruyan Direct early last week and am happy (and relieved) to be able to say that, as of this morning, my package has cleared Customs (spent a whole 6 hours there) and should be delivered to me early next week now. If our post offices were open on Saturday I'd probably have it then but ... at least I know I'm getting it and that's the main thing. BTW - really like the new site. Haven't had a chance to poke around in it much yet but looks good, guys.
  5. Okay, I wasn't going to say anything but ... well ... I just can't hold back any longer. Do you think you could make a slight change from where it says 'sit back relax and vape with freinds' to ... 'friends'? Just because we're on the subject of typos, you know? hee, hee.
  6. Thanks for that info! As usual, I dithered (love that word) around over the weekend and didn't get around to placing my order until yesterday morning. Well, I don't know if I was actually 'dithering' - it's that time of the year where an enormous amount of time and energy seems to be getting spent in the yard and greenhouses! Nice to know what kinds of numbers to look for on the batteries when they come, though. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
  7. You're truly a weird kind of guy, aren't you, Chris? Well, glad it was just a 'roller coaster' ride this time and nothing more major than that.
  8. Glad to hear that everything is okay for you guys. Can't say that I am anxious to experience anything like an earthquake but one of my dream holidays would be to go storm chasing.
  9. I'm going to place my order today. I'll let you know how it goes and if it gets through. Going to order 5 atomizers and 4 batteries some carts and juice. It it goes smoothly, will try it again for more juice. Just would feel better if I had a stockpile myself. I don't expect all this crap with the FDA and HC to come to any resolution any time in the near future - it is government after all!
  10. Thanks for the clarification, Chris. Makes sense now. Re the RN atomizers and DSE batteries, seeing as how I want get a properly working penstyle again and they don't have anything listed for the RN pen model, guess it's the DSE 801 for me. Even though I have gotten pretty proficient at refilling my M401 and am actually quite pleased with it, it just doesn't compare to the pen.
  11. After much thought and research, I am also planning on placing an order with Heaven Gifts. Have read lots of good reviews. Figure I have just as much chance of getting my goodies stopped at Customs from the States as from China and its a straight forward matter of finances. Anyway, I have a question that is really puzzling me and maybe someone here knows the answer. Heaven Gifts URL shows as 'ruyandirect'. And we know what their prices are like - real cheap. However, when you go to a Ruyan company site like Ruyan America, yikes! The prices are way up in the stratosphere! Anyone know why? I mean if Wayne from Heaven Gift can use the ruyan name anywhere in his url, doesn't that mean he is affiliated with them in some way? So why the enormous price difference between the two? For ease of reference, here is the link to Ruyan America ... Ruyan America
  12. Okay - now my stomach hurts! Laughing this hard so close to shut eye time must be a health hazard! THAT was priceless!
  13. OMG that was toooo funny!! How many times do you get stuck having to sit through crap like that thinking ... well ... pretty much the same thing. Love that guys voice! Thanks for the chuckle, Chris!
  14. Too funny, Woodensaint! That is pretty cool but really creepy ... could practically read the newspaper that someone was reading! Kinda gives me the willies, ya know?
  15. Can anyone tell me if ruyandirect.com (Heavenly Gifts) is an affiliate of Ruyan themselves? If they are not, then I can imagine they could well be under the firing pin PDQ as well. That was a very interesting find, Vacker. I wonder, when the dust settles, how many Chinese manufacturers will be gone. Sounds like Han Li means business and ... well, you can't really blame the man. He is the one who came up with the idea and spent the dollars in R & D, patents, testing, etc.
  16. I agree - it would be a shame to have to resort to some sort of underground subterfuge but ... whatever it takes! There are far too many of us who have used these and are experiencing a WAY better life to give them up now. Then again, just when I thought that it couldn't get any more ridiculous for the FDA to be thinking of banning something that has the potential to save thousands of lives like this e-cig, I read the headlines about them going after General Foods for their marketing of Cheerios, for God's sake! What kind of paranoid schizophrenics are running the FDA anyway?
  17. Yeah - I was pretty happy to see this, too. Would sure like to believe that HC is truly looking at this from strictly the kind of quality control that this fellow was talking about. I have no problem if they will only allow ecigs from suppliers like Ruyan and whoever else they deem provides the proper studies. Just as long as they DO allow them!! Of course, for the moment things are status quo ... but sure nice to see that there is some positive feedback coming in out there.
  18. Well, StringDancer it sounds like you are prepared all right. Have been having thoughts about a generator myself but ... just never seem to have the extra cash around. Got a wood stove that would heat and feed us if necessary so them's the important things. Well, until my e-cig came along, lol. Chris - sorry, didn't realize you were still interested in that site promoting the solar charger. Here it is: Solar Charger
  19. Just had to share this clip with everyone. Up here in Canada we have a show called the Daily Planet. Well, the other day, it appears they had a segment on e-cigarettes and they were interviewing a doctor from the University of Alberta. This interview actually gives me some hope! Certainly the most positive, non-biased interview I've heard yet. Take a look (it starts after a few seconds of commercial stuff). E-cigarette interview
  20. Actually it was a different e-cig supplier altogether but those are pretty neat, too, Vacker! Especially that Kensington power pack. Will need to look into something that's for sure as I'm really, REALLY hoping to get out camping sometime this summer and don't want to be without my ecig! Thanks for that info, Vacker.
  21. You're a good guy, Chris! And thanks for the wishes.
  22. Okay - here's a question I haven't seen posted anywhere at any time. And, weird as it may seem, it's something that's popped into my head off and on. In the event that we find ourselves without electricity for a period of time (ei - natural or manmade disasters for example), do you have any back up plan for your e-cig? There is a site out there that sells a solar powered charger for their ecig and I have to admit that it is tempting to order from them. Their ecig looks kind of like a Loong Totem atomizer/cart one (in my very limited experience) so don't know if the charger would work with any other batteries. But it got me thinking that could be a real handy thing to have even if you plan on, say, a week long camping trip or something. Anyway, just wondered if anyone had any 'backup power source' for their charger.
  23. Thanks for all the tips, everyone. I got the tip of the syringe smoothed off just by rubbing it with a cloth. Guess there was just something stuck to the very end that was catching on the fluff. Filled some of the 401 carts and it seemed to go pretty well. All in all, it's not a bad little e-cig. Kind of wish I'd waited a bit longer for that 510 though! It is obviously a hit. Ah well ... could go broke buying the latest and best. Kind of reminds me of computers.
  24. Thanks for that tip, Royce! It will be interesting to see if I am any better at filling these carts than I was with the pen ones! That is, without overfilling them!
  25. First off ... what Leford vid? Nope, I was referring to your pics on this forum (in a much earlier thread when you first got her, I think). But, as Vacker hinted, if you give us the link, we'll gladly watch your puppy in action! My poochie thanks you for your kind words, Vacker. He thinks he's pretty handsome, too, most of the time. He's a white shepherd and a real sweetheart. I see you've got yourself a bit of an escape artist there! It's always funny when it's someone else's dog ...
