  1. So the vanilla custard arrived today and I can tell you its wonderful.

More custard than vanilla, its a creamy flavor, nicely sweet without being too sweet just right. The vanillas there, but not over powering so all in all a winner in my book!

I did a 70/30 PG/VG 18 MG and the TH is not too high, maybe 6 to 7, lets call it 6.5 which is fine by me and vapor production is solid.

Let me know if want any more information about it. I do recommend, but of course with the caveat that obviously taste is very subjective.

  2. Barkerb49, please understand I don't see what you are saying as complaining at all. The confusion is perfectly understandable and many of us - including myself - do not know all of this when we first started. When I received my eGo and noticed the Janty logo said what the??? It was explained to me, much the same as its been explained to you.

There is so much to learn when you step into the world of vaping and it can be overwhelming for sure. So please feel free to ask your questions, voice your concerns and know that most of us here have been exactly were you are now.

Now get that eGo on the charger! Trust me it can be a real game changer when you embrace it!

P.S. If you look at my "join date" you will see I am just a couple of months ahead of you, its amazing how quickly you go from a true noob to answering others questions. I hope our responses were helpful to you!

  3. I can speak to your question would I recommend the VT store!

In a heart beat and its the store I recommend most everytime for those interesting in getting started. The products are very high quality, the customer service exceptional, shipping among the very best.

Chris is a great guy who will bend over backwards, and perhaps sometimes to far to ensure people are satisfied - I believe you will see that very shorty once he gets wind of your concerns. He stands behind the vaping community and is a best practices example of vaping store operations. I have dealt with several at this point and VT Store is the only one I recommend to others when they ask me were to buy.

  4. I am sure Chris (the site founder and the VT Store Owner) will be along shortly to address your concerns.

I know this is confusing, but Janty is Joye and Joye is Janty so your self stated biggest concern is really something that shouldn't be too big of a concern to you. I know me saying that doesn't make it so, but I am sure Chris will reach out to you shortly.

  5. Sharon

Check out this thread and specifically my post in the thread about the math of volts and resistance.

If that makes sense then take the next step and understand that for an resistance is about the coil size of the atty, a LR atty has a smaller coil and this offers lower resistance, but when you pump more power though the smaller coil you run the risk of overloading it for lack of a better term and pop! Thats why for high voltage higher resistance is suggested, although that lowers the total power.

Go read that one, then read this post again and that should set you on a course for what you're struggling with, if you still need more help let me know.

  6. I gave that a shot and put 2 drops 555 and one drop of the menthol and it was actually pretty good. It reminded me of a camel menthol almost.

Remember, most of the menthol flavors of liquids are just menthol but from smoking you are used to a menthol tobacco flavor which is not the same. This was the realization I came to after some thought. I would think most menthol flavors are going to be to 'mentholy' for you if you are just switching.

Look at menthol tobacco flavors. I am liking this one so far...

These two replies sure seem to go together like peanut butter and chocolate! :innocent:

  7. Since I just learned more about this last night in chat I will add to this just because its new in my head. So your vape is depend on POWER which is the same as watts. So your battery voltage combined with the resistance of your atomizer determines your power or wattage when you vaporize your liquid.

So to put some math to this lets use Amiee's numbers and I will call it 2.3 for a standard

So your Power (watts) = Voltage squared / resistance

So for a standard atty on a eGo 3.7 volt battery the math works out to

    X = 3.7 (2) / 2.3 which equals 5.95 watts

With a LR atty at 1.5

    X - 3.7 (2) / 1.5 which equals 9.12 watts

With the higher wattage you are generating more heat thus warmer vapor quicker juice burn and the other elements discussed above.

Like I said I learned this last night in chat and I think when you get the chance to reinforce new knowledge in your brain - use it!

  8. You bet your worth it!

Ok I'm really slow on the up take. With bottom feeders/ wet boxes, you only use attys? I should have guessed.

    From his website

Our products are "Bottom Feed" Box Mods, which feeds liquid into the atomizer from a feed tube, which is inserted into the bottom hole of the atomizer, cartomizers are not to be used with our product.
  9. Thanks all

Beans - the short answer is yes

The longer answer, well because I had this coming I have resisted the temptation to order LR Attys and as I learned in chat last night (yep I chatted) its all about the power and watts. When you use a LR atty on a lower volt battery you increase wattage which generates more heat which makes for warmer burn and warmer vapor.

With the VV Ali'i I can adjust my voltage, keeping my standard atty resistance and with the greater voltage produce more power and achieve the same result but with a greater degree of personalization.

Add to that what I expect will be a set up (bottom feeder) that more accommodates my lifestyle needs for mobility and I think this is a home run. I have been dripping while driving - I know I know, and given that I take really long road trips the ability to load up 6 ML of juice and vape entirely one handed, a gentle push through the hole to feed the juice and then a push of the button and I am vaping away all with one hand on the wheel and my eyes on the road for hours at a time before needing to reload juice. I ordered some extra bottles too so I can have a few different flavors set and ready to be loaded when I stop for gas or such. I also travel for business a good deal. It kind of sucks having to stop on a Manhattan street, let go of the suitcase, pull out the bottle, open it, drip drip, put the bottle away, grab luggage, and continue - when you need to get somewhere!

Yes, it is an expensive mod, and I suspect there were others that would achieve a similar result that would have been less expensive, but heck I am worth it!

So there is the long answer, I am still trying to find just the right voltage setting and getting the hang of it but so far - I am liking it a lot!

  10. there are two vendors with the sweet vapes name, you might have went to the other one? sweet-vapes.com

They have the dash. Look under the desserts category

    direct link here

And don't worry I will not forget, I have a special place for Aussie woman since I lived there for four months back in the 1994!

  11. I got 4 juices from Gourmet and was not overly pleased with them from a taste perspective. I got their vanilla gorilla and it was just okay, the vanilla flavor was kind of week so that doesn't bode well for their vanilla custard.

That said, I am a big vanilla fan, and just yesterday I placed an order with Sweet-vapes (they have a supplier forum here) and vanilla custard was one of the flavors I choose so I should be able to get back to you in a couple of days when it arrives. I have gotten a bunch of flavors from them and really liked their flavors I am hopefully, plus you can select a wide range of PG/VG blend percentages which should allow you to dial into the right blend to work with your cartos.

  12. Kit nailed it. Once you drip, I can only assume you'll drip or go bottom feeder if you get it right. While attys, dripping -and even drip tips come with issues- once you nail the DD vape, you love it. Carts, cartos and most tank systems won't be a viable option. -That being said, there are enough vendors and products out there, that when mixed, offer different results. ...One man's trash is a... journey for you to explore.

(get some LR 306's and LR 510's (if you are on 3.7) and a big battery. Where's the juice? ...the next 3G PV will drip while you sleep. STOP!)

Yeppers, thats about it, I have a small qty of cartos, a couple of tank attys with their unused tanks all sitting in a drawer now!
