  1. I get mine at my local vape shop, Alchemist Vapor Shop and Lounge in Peru, Indiana. They're starting to sell online. You can see them on FB.
  2. I got a new (v2) Vapor Shark rDNA (the original is the DNA) about a week ago. It rocks. It's a little heavier than the original and a little bigger but not much on either count. The buttons (+/-/fire) are a little bigger, which I like. I think the fire button is also bigger than the original (which I really like). The rDNA probably weighs 1.5x what a Hana does. It comes with a VTC4 (18650) and it's easy to change out although it's got passthrough recharging. (It only came 1/2 charged.) Fits comfortably in my average sized hand. Of course, it's got the same Evolv DNA30 chip just like the original and the Hana (which seems to be what others compare it to) so you know the electronics are outstanding. It also has a spring loaded 510 connector pin. There's an LED ring around the fire button that lights up blue when you push the trigger and when you plug it in, glows red until it's charged. The VS isn't as "pretty" as the Hana but it's cheaper and works just as well. I think it's a bit more durable (I know a few who have dropped their v1 VSs and didn't do any damage although I wouldn't recommend trying it). The rDNA has the capacity for wireless charging although I didn't opt for it as that requires extra pieces (not cheap...close to $100 extra for the base, charging device on the mod and the required Shark Skin cover) and it tends to heat up enough that it may cloud the display. It's not like it's difficult to plug the thing in. The rDNA is priced at $189.99 ($20 more than the original DNA). I think it's well worth the extra $20. Sometimes, I'm away from home all night and well into the next day. No way a single 18650 will keep a charge for 18 hours of chain vaping, especially running 15-22 watts (sometimes, I just wanna have fun ). It's nice to be able change the battery if needed. Bottom line: High quality, regulated mod for a good price. I definitely recommend it.
  3. I use Japanese cotton. It comes in 2x2 sheets. I cut a strip (with the grain), put it in the coil then cut it to length. The Kayfun (I have the EHPro version) is a bit temperamental when it comes to wicking. A little too much and it floods. Not quite enough and it burns. There have been a couple times when I've had to rewick right away.
  4. The only problem I (might) have with the IPV2 is the track record (or lack of it). If it's new, nobody knows how long it will last. Destroy 2 of those and I might as well have bought a Proteus mod or a Hana to begin with.
  5. What are you using for wicking material? I never dry burn the wick but I DO dry burn the coils in between wicking to get all of the old juice/crap off of them. No sense wasting a good coil.
  6. Easy to do once in a while. Remove the tank, drip your favorite juice on the wick and put the chimney on. Vape through the top of the chimney. PITA to do it on a regular basis but doable once in a while.
  7. You seem dead set on 2.0 ohms. Why? I almost always vape with sub ohm coils (around .8) and rarely wrap higher than 1.5 (ish) coils. Less power means longer battery life and they heat up fast and stay hot. If you want a cooler vape, try a longer drip tip or something like CherryVapes Universal tip.

Every once in a while, a clone is better than the authentic. Sometimes, the originals can be improved upon.
  9. And, once you really want to use ribbon wire, take the wire of your choice (gauge wise) and beat it flat with a hammer and the flat part of a vise. At least you'll know what gauge you have.
  10. Looking for a VW DNA30 mod. I don't want junk or something untested. 18650 based. Clones are fine. I know about the Hana and (supposedly) Vaporshark is about to release an improved version based on the 18650. Both are relatively expensive. What else is out there, clone or authentic?
  11. Well, since these short stems are single coils, I guess I'll pass on these. I'll order the dual coils instead. At twice the price, I won't buy as many but I gotta have some coils. Thanks for the responses, guys and gals. BTW, I've only had one coil leak. Once I disassembled, dried and blew out the AT, it was all good.
  12. I need new coils for my Kanger Aerotank. My next tank will be an Aerotank Mega. The Store has the Short Stem coils on sale for a super price. I'm ready to order but I have some questions first. What's the difference between the 2? Does one work better than the other? I don't want to spend money on something that won't work as well as the Regular Stem coils. The Regular coils are dual coils. I assume the Shorts are single coil. What difference does this make? Thanks!
  13. My Spinner has "VISION" etched in the neck, "Vision Spinner" stamped on the lower case and has a red line on the voltage regulator dial. Mine came as a single and, as far as I know, it's not a clone. On something as inexpensive as a Spinner, I can't see the point in manufacturing a clone. You just can't sell it much cheaper. I can see cloning a Hana or a Provari as you can sell them quite a bit cheaper even though you'd probably get cheap electronics.
  14. Turns out I was screwing it in too tight. The guy down at the local vape shop squared me away this afternoon. He slightly unscrewed it and VOILA, it worked perfectly. He showed me inside the top of the MVP where there was a tiny o-ring that separates the + from the -. If the tank is screwed in too tight, it compresses that o-ring too much and causes the 2 sides to touch, shorting it out. He said to tighten it just until it starts to touch then snug it all up with the beauty ring. Since I got a v1 and like it, I'll order the better v2 now.
  15. What's the difference (other than price) between an authentic mod and a clone? Quality or are you just buying a name with the "real" thing?
  16. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but what makes the Provari worth 4x something like an ITaste v2 or Vamo? (I know. There's no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid people. )
  17. I feel ya. This is the first time in over 30 years I've gone without cigarettes or chew and not really desired it. I understand that I'm still getting nicotine and the draw of vaping replaces the draw of a cigarette but it's nice to be able to 1) save money, 2) eliminate the cigarette smell and 3) eliminate all those harmful (and carcinogenic) byproducts of tobacco. I don't know if I want to try a dripper or not. I'm pretty satisfied with just filling the tank, changing the coil occasionally and vaping away.
  18. So far, I've spent about $45 on bits that, although they work well, aren't what I really want. No big deal (and I tend to stay flat broke). Live and learn. You can get a Spinner for $30.
  19. The guy at the local vape shop showed me how to slightly pull the contact at the bottom of the Smoktechs (there's a little hole at the bottom you can hook a pick into). The bottom pin on the Aerotank is solid. No place to hook a pick into. Still not sure if I should spring for a v2 or go with a more traditional mod like a Vamo. Both are about the same money ($45 for the MVP v $50 for the Vamo). I got a partial refund on the v1 so my cost ended up being $25. Still not bad since I can easily use it with the Smoktechs.
  20. Works great on my Spinner, not at all on the MVP. It seems the v1 doesn't do any more than change voltage and count puffs. I'm using 2.0ohm coils in the Aerotank. I tried with with and without the collar. No difference. I really like the MVP but I'm not going to spend $45 for a v2 if it won't work as I REALLY like the Aerotank. I'll have to see if anyone around here has a v2.
  21. Hi, all. New to vaping. I got a coupon in the mail for a Mark Ten kit and thought I'd give it a shot. I liked it (for what it is) so I decided to hit up the local vape shop. Bought a Spinner with a couple Smoktech GBCs and a couple bottles of juice. After a couple days, I decided I liked it enough that I went back and bought a Kanger Aerotank. The owner had some special mix in his rig that I liked so I bought a bottle of that. (I think that'll be my daily vape.) Decided the next day I REALLY liked vaping so I ordered an iTaste MVP. It was supposed to be v2 but they sent me a v1. Only problem I have is that it won't fire the dual coil in the Kanger. It WILL fire the single coil in the Smoktech. Anyone have any issues with the iTaste (either v1 or v2) firing a dual coil? I like the feel of it so, if the v2 will fire a dual coil (currently 2ohms), I'll find a v2. I've either smoked, chewed or both daily for 30+ years. So far, I've gone 3 days without tobacco. (First for me!) I'm using 12mg juice. I'm hoping to drop to 6mg within a couple months then down to zero by the first of the year. Peace!
