  1. That's what I figure. I have a half teaspoon measuring spoon. so I'll try that later. Worse comes to worse I'll but an evod coil and a MT3 coil and whichever fits....well you understand. I'll be out for around $2 but at least I'll know. Heck, I've been searching different mods for the last two days. Yesterday I was sure I was getting a cool fire or 134 mini and today I found some awesome deals on mechanical mods. I found a kamry k100 starter kit. Here is the description: Battery Capacity: 900mAh/2000mAh One (1) K100 Battery Body One (1) Atomizer Cover One (1) Drip Tip Two (2) Cartomizers One (1) 18350 Battery One (1) 18650 Battery One (1) Battery Protection Chip One (1) Charger One (1) Zipper Case All that for $34. I'm sure the batteries aren't top shelf and I'll have to replace them and the tank if I like the mod but $34 is a nice price point. I like the idea of no wiring or chip boards to fry. So $2 on an errant coil shouldn't kill me. I just wish I could get ups or fedex to deliver out here.
  2. I'm trying a new juice one of my buddies on the platform isn't using anymore. It's menthol, not my thing really, but I'm having sore throat/coughing issues with my stuff. I have 4 different flavors from two different vendors and all of them are 24mg nicotine. His is 10mg nicotine. Wow, what a difference! barely a fraction of the throat hit my stuff has. I was planning on getting a whole bunch of high vg fluid (50/60/70 % vg) to minimize throat hit and increase vapor. Now I'm thinking I could probably try a bunch of 50/50 pg/vg at a lower nic level and be okay. I'm a little nervous about lowering my nic level now. I just switched from analog about a month ago. Didn't want to go too low and start craving analog again. So far I've been good on the cravings but really bad on the coughing and lack of vapor. I'm being told my body may be clearing out my lungs. pack a day for 25 years. that explains the coughing. I'm working on the vapor thing. Unfortunately no vape stores in the middle of the ocean so I'm waiting til tuesday(next) to work on the solution. Hopefully I'll have a slew of boxes filled with new liquid waiting to be vaped when I get there!
  3. I understand that the coils are different. My problem is determining which tank I have to order the right coil. I haven't tried the move where I fill my tank with water and measure it in partial teaspoon and then convert that measurement to ml's. The kanger site had the capacities at 2.0 for the evod and 3.0 for the MT3. I appreciate the advice bcartervol98 but I'm not having a gurgling issue. I'll try the measurement thing later. I just filled the tank with some new juice I'm trying and don't want to dump it down the sink right yet.
  4. thanks for the replies. in looking at the kanger site they have very clear pictures of the two tanks. The MT3s do appear to have a rough bottom ring. Mine is definitely smooth, though it does not say kangertech evod on it. Looking like I might actually have an evod. The other thing I could do is pour some fluid (water) in the tank and see how much comes out. I don't have any ml measuring spoons but I have various grades of the teaspoon. 1.8 is a third teaspoon and 2.5 ml is a half teaspoon. I assume, because you have to take the bottom off to fill these and you have to stop adding fluid once you reach the top of the shaft the coil stem goes in, then that much fluid is considered "full".
  5. I was just online fixing to place an order for replacement coils for my kanger tank. The kanger site is telling me the MT3 and EVOD tanks use different coils. My question is this, they look awfully similar (the tanks and the replacement coils). The B&M that sold me the tank told me it was a MT3. But in searching different sites for coils I'm seeing these pictures where the MT3s have black mouthpieces and the EVODs have clear ones. On the Kanger site they're both clear. I just need some help determining which tank I have so I can get the right coil. Thanks in advance everybody. P.S. My tank has a clear mouthpiece
  6. thanks for the clarification. it would be great if they had a vendor that sold coils with cotton wicks already put together. I searched but didn't find any. The procedure described may be a little outside my current experience and abilities. I'm sure I could get the hang of it eventually. I just did some research and am thinking of going with an iClear 30s with 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer. they have 16 wicks and lots of holes to keep liquid "sucked up". I'm trying to make sure I have the best system for the high vg I'm planning on switching to. Also considering getting a mechanical mod. Got some inexpensive ones over at madvapes. BTW it was a 2.5 ish ohm single coil I got from a B&M store in lafayette louisiana that goes in the tank that came off a kamry e-pipe. Not sure of the brand name, if any. It's a top feed single coil 3ml chrome and glass tank. don't have way to send picture now or I'd post one.
  7. I read some of the threads about removing the silica wicks and replacing them with cotton for a faster absorbing wick. I thought maybe I'd get some practice in before I got my hands on the high vg liquid I'm getting next week. Wow....it sounded pretty straight forward from what I read. I unwound the coil from the silica a replaced it with some cotton from off the end of my q-tips (my cotton supply is very limited here offshore). everything seemed cool up to the point where I began to re-wind the coil and tried making it look like it did before I began my little operation. It looked somewhat passable at best. getting in back in the shaft was another story all together. Obviously I did something wrong because after I replaced my rig job the sucker wouldn't fire at all. I'm guessing the posts at the end of the wrapping weren't touching the right spots, thus not making the proper electrical loop. Whatever the case my bravado concerning wick replacement has been knocked down a peg or two. I'm not saying I'll never try it again but I certainly put myself in a tight spot as I rendered one of my remaining two replacement coils useless. One coil left...one week til I hit land. Should be okay but I wish I hadn't put myself so close to the edge. Oh well, live and learn right?
  8. I went through about 35 - 40 ml the first week. since then it's tappered off. I'm out on an oil rig in the gulf of mexico right now and my vaping has definitely slowed. I cracked open a 10ml off caramel tobacco when I got here a week ago and I'm not even half way through it yet. Although admittedly it isn't a great juice. Something I was trying for the first time from dragon mist to compare to halo's tribecca which is more than twice the cost.
  9. alright. new plan. thank you again for the insight. the rebuildable option sounds awesome but maybe a little further down the line. I'm a month into this and still in a kind of "plug and play" mode. so...I'll go to the sites suggested and get a different sampling. Lets say something basic from fadora like strawberry or blueberry. Get 5ml 24mg nic one 50%vg, one 60%vg and one 70%vg. I'll do the same at all the other sites y'all mentioned. Maybe mix it up with some orange dreamsicle from seattle vapor and some caramel cappuccino from ec blend. Really see what the different levels of vg do for me without going over 70% vg.
  10. okay. I've checked out all the sites that were suggested. ALL very helpful. My plan is to buy the smallest bottles available of one particular flavor from all the sites. I will get three or four bottles of each with varying vg from 50% vg all the way up to 100% vg wherever possible. I am also going to replace my 2.2 ohm coils with 1.8 ohm coils. I have a kager MT3 tank. My next question is this....I've been warned against 100% vg. I assume because it is so thick. What do I need to be aware of? Will 100% vg not work at all with some tanks? Will it work but clog my atomizer quickly? Should I replace my whole tank setup for 100% vg? Perhaps a kager protank mini? It doesn't seem to me that the protank mini would be that different than the MT3. The main difference I can see would be that my MT3 has the option of going as low as 1.8ohm coils where the protank has the option of going down to a 1.5ohm coil. will that .3ohm change in coil make that much difference? I'm using an ego vv 650 mah battery right now. I'll upgrade to a 1300 or 1600 mah ego style battery soon but I'd like to figure out this vapor production thing first.
  11. Could you give me a link to Fadora Vapors. When I google it I get a bunch of stuff but no link to any kind of site that sells e liquid.
  12. I searched this site and couldn't find an answer. I'm looking for some e-liquid vendors that allow you to order juice with a variety of different pg/vg ratios. It has been suggested to me that I try some liquid that is high on the vg side. I've been vaping 80pg/20vg and 70pg/30vg. I'd like to try some 50/50. Maybe even some 40pg/60vg, 30pg/70vg or even some 100% vg. Though it has been suggested that I might have some troubles with straight vg. I'm looking to reduce throat hit and increase vapor production and it's been suggested that I get some low resistance coils (1.5 - 1.8 ohm) and some high vg liquid. Any help would be appreciated. I did a search on google for "vendors with adjustable pg/vg levels" and I am also aware of Mt Baker and Vrgin Vapor. I was hoping to get a few more leads as virgin vapors seems a little pricey ($13.50 for alcohol free liquid 100% vg 14.7ml)
  13. vapor zone does a home delivery program. I believe you save 10% off every order.
  14. Thanks for all the advice. I'll try many of the suggestions when I get back on land in about 9 or 10 days. Thanks for the link for the replacement coils Tameiki. The brick and mortar stores in Lafayette Louisiana are lacking a bit. I don't think vaping has caught on down here. I don't mind ordering of the internet I just like to go in knowing the business is reputable if possible.
  15. I know there isn't any smoke in vapor. That's why I put it in quotes. The stuff I've been using has been 80 PG/ 20 VG or 70 PG/ 30 VG. I've been vaping dragon mist out of oklahoma (they have a brick and mortar store in lafayette) and halo Tribeca. Both are more PG than VG, or so I've been told. I will get my hands on some liquid that is higher in VG and see how it goes. I will also replace my 2.2 ohm coils with 1.8 ohm coils. I've searched "kager MT3 coils" on google and the only vendors I get have the option of 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 ohm. There isn't any option for a coil with lower resistance than 1.8. If I produce larger clouds then I will invest in some of the vision spinners (1300 mah or 1600 mah). That will solve the problem of charging before the day is through. Does the KPT2 or 3 have the same profile as the vision spinner battery or do you have to get a beauty ring? What about the KPT mini? I don't always put my unit in my pocket but when I do I'd like the battery and tank to be the same thickness.
  16. I'm a little confused...in one post bcartervol98 says: If you want little or no throat hit but big clouds, you need to get a higher VG liquid. I mainly vaoe liquids from Fuzion that are 65% VG but when I order elsewhere I always get 70vg. Then a few posts later he says fuzion liquids are 100% PG (65% base and 35% flavor). If I use my existing ego vv 650 mah battery with my kager MT3 tank/atomizer (sorry if I used the wrong term - I still am baffled by the whole cartomizer/clearomizer/atomizer thing) and I replace my current 2.2 ohm coil with a 1.8 ohm coil how high can I go on VG? Will a different setup (battery/tank) yeild different results? what I mean, will a vision spinner with a kager pro tank put out a bigger cloud of "smoke" with the same exact liquid than a ego vv battery with a kager MT3 tank?
  17. I'm looking for at least similar to analog but what I'd prefer, in a perfect world, is more than analog. Right now I'm getting less than analog, probably in the neighborhood of half the cloud production. As much as 75% production if I turn my battery up to 6V. But the vape is so harsh I keep lowering it to around 4.0 - 4.5V.
  18. okay. I hear what you are saying. since the mah variable isn't going to affect vapor production I'm going to try this........ I just spoke with the guy at the store I got my supplies from. He says the resistance on my coils (I bought three for a fourteen day hitch) is 2.2-2.4 ohms. The replacement coils for my MT3 come in 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 ohms. I'll order me some of the 1.8's. The juice I've been using is of an undetermined pg/vg ratio. I was told the "dragon mist" from the retailers main office back in oklahoma is about 80/20 pg/vg. the stuff is so-so. I also bought a couple bottles of halo e liquid. The prevailing opinion being that halo has the best "tobacco" flavors on the market. I happen to really like their "Tribeca". I believe their stuff is 80/20 or 70/30 too. So I will try to ind the highest quality 100% VG I can find and vape with a 1.8 ohm coil. My battery goes from 3V - 6V, so I'll have to adjust it to find my sweet spot. If all that works then I can invest in an innokin iTaste or the vision spinner batteries. Quick question...I searched the vision spinner batteries and they look an awful lot like repackaged ego batteries. Is there a difference between ego and vision spinner? are the just two different name brands for the same chinese battery? Also, I know this isn't the place for e liquid questions, but I don't feel like retyping all of this over there. Can anyone recommend some high quality 100% VG liquid. The only site I recall offering 100% VG was Mt Baker..
  19. I appreciate the advice. My head literally hurts. I was doing some research while waiting for some replies. I seem to be getting the best results from my single coil bottom feed tank (kanger mt3). The two top feed tanks (one is a vivo dct and the other is a spare tank that came off a "pipe" setup - kamry I believe - that the retailer down the street gave to me). I'm definitely leaning towards the bottom feed tanks. I vape back to back when I do bust out my device. I go long periods between sessions but will often hit back to back with maybe 5-10 seconds between drags. it seems logical that the bottom feed units are better for my style vaping as I've noticed a burnt taste coming from my top feed tanks. I'm assuming because the wicks aren't getting the liquid to the coil fast enough for my speedy vaping style. It's just that there is too much information out there for me. One site warned me not to buy the particular mod I was looking at (the sigelei 20 watt) if I didn't understand ohms law. Look, I'm not trying to obtain an associates degree in electronics engineering. I just want to vape and blow out large clouds. I was warned about all the psychological hurdles I might face switching from analog to vapor. I don't believe I needed to buy the 30ml's of tobacco flavored juice I stocked up on because "going straight to fruity juice might discourage me from sticking with the switch". I think I could have gone straight to cotton candy or pina colada as long as it was strong nic (24mg). I was also warned about throat hit and vapor cloud. Throat hit, as I said, annoys me. I don't need it. But the cloud thing is really bothering me. Not so much that I've picked up an analog but I've got to figure this out. My 650 mah ego vv with kager bottom feed single coil (mt3) isn't cutting it. On 6v (max) it is close but the throat hit is barely manageable. I cough often, almost every time. Turning it down to 4v helps but the exhale is sad. It sounds like y'all are telling me I don't need to plunk down $200 on a mod but your suggestions - the innokin mvp 2.0 $40 an the vision spinner 1600 mah $35 - are about what I spent on my current model (I spent $38 on the 650 mah vv ego battery/charger/kager mt3 tank). Like I said it works okay but not great. I guess what I'm worried about is if I go out and spend the same money on a different brand it's going to produce the same amount of vapor. Does the extra 1000 mah of battery contribute to bigger clouds? I thought mah rating referred to how long the battery held a charge. I'm not trying to be argumentative but I'd really like to get this right on the next try. I don't mind spending money on something that works but, to be honest, I already have over $100 invested total and I'm not truely satisfied with the switch. The thing that sucks even more is that I work on an oil rig in the gulf of mexico and I don't have access to brick and mortar stores or online store shipments. I'm stuck with what I have right now and I'm having a very rough time.
  20. It looks like I'm finally going to be able to stick with vaping. Tried to get into it a little over a year ago with the cig look alikes and went back to analog immediately. Bought an ego vv 650mah with a krager mt3 about a month ago and haven't had an analog since. The advice I'm looking for is this: where do I go from here. I've been experiencing some sore throat issues but I searched the issue and it looks like I'll have to experiment with pg/vg ratios and voltage. my biggest concern is vapor production. I bought two tanks for the ego vv with no improvement. one single coil top feed and a dual coil top feed. both worked worse than the original krager mt3. I'm thinking I need to get into the nod thing. but my head spins when I research my options. The vamo, the various innokin models. I've been leaning towards the vapor zone rebel. but the $179 price tag has me feeling cautious. It looks alot like an itaste 134 or 134mini. all i'm looking for is insane vapor production. i'm partial to bottom feed tanks. so far halo juice seems to be the only one i've tried that impresses me. I care little for throat hit. in fact I don't really like it at all. i'm using 24 juice but would be willing to step down to 18 or 16 if it'll help my throat (i'm vaping dragon mist right now - out of ok).I's like improved battery life but like I said before my number one main concern is for a unit that will give me a huge cloud of vapor.
  21. I'm new here. Thought I'd say hello to everybody. I started vaping over a year ago with those disposable cig-look-alike things. Terrible experience. Went back to analog. Just bought my first ego VV about a month ago. Haven't had a cigarette since.
