  1. I went ahead and ordered some new bases from the vaportalk store. Rant over/back to work... But am I the only one having this problem? I carry my Provari everywhere. They always fall out of my lap when I stand up and then they bust apart. My first one I just jammed back together and it worked fine. It still comes apart from time to time but if I stick it back together it worked... until it got knocked off of the dresser and the tip sheared of inside the tank. I think I can get it out of there but I had backups laying around soo... My second aerotank leaked. Bad. I may just need to change the coil (but thinking back I may have already done that). It got shelved as well until last night when I broke the third one. This one fell out of my lap as well and busted apart, but something must be out of whack a bit. I can shove it back together but the fit isn't tight enough to hold... that base is done. I stuck base #2 back on there... still leaky leaky. I couldn't find the replacement base I had laying around so I robbed the base off of tank #1 and I'm back in business for the time being. All of this over the course of about 6-8 weeks I believe...
  2. I am pretty hard on them, but if I examine them closely they are not all identical, especially if you examine the location of the air inlets. Maybe I'm just having a QC issue?
  3. I may just go this route. The local store sells just the bases as well but it's a PITA for me to get over there. I also already have a bunch of coils and whatnot as well... I guess I'll just have to add a base to my spare parts kit as well...
  4. I broke my third Aerotank last night and I'm getting a little tired of it. A little background... I started with PT2s and couldn't get them to vape dry, always sucking in juice. I switched to the vivi nova and used it for a while and liked it, and also had good luck with the iClear30s tank that came with my VTR. I walk into a local vape shop a while back and they sold me on a Kanger Aerotank. The Aerotank has been great (using on my Provari), but I keep breaking the bottom piece off. This is the piece that screws onto the mod and is press fit into the adjusting ring housing (sorry, I don't know the technical terms). It vapes great, but it's a pain having to keep having to put them back together and constantly be working on them. The adjustable airflow is nice but it isn't a must... I just want a tank that is as rugged as my Provari. Any suggestions?
  5. I take a few puffs to full my mouth, and then a long "drag" into the lungs to top it off. The VTR running at about 14 watts vapes about the same as my 1300mah spinners set around 4.5 volts with a 2.8ohm coil. I'd have to do the math for a more accurate comparison, which frankly, I don't feel like doing on this Fursday afternoon. Have a good Easter! I'll check back later.
  6. I think so. The instructions say set one or the other, but not both. If I scroll through to the watts and set it where I want it, that's all there is to it... right?
  7. I may experiment with some different coils and report back. Maybe.
  8. Well, my understand of VW machines was that they were supposed to detect coil resistance, and adjust the voltage to produce the desired output wattage... so in theory, you should get the same hit/taste regardless of your coil resistance.
  9. I'm using the iClear 30S that came with it, which had the 2.1 ohm coil in it from the factory. I noticed it his 2.0 earlier this week. It just knocked the crap out of my throat so I checked it and now its at 1.8. I've got a box of 2.1s already to replace it, so I'm kind of just waiting on it to pop.
  10. First off, let me state that I love my VTR. It's my go-to machine and I'll probably add another to my collection soon. That being said, these things are marketed as being able to adjust voltage automatically to generate the desired output wattage... I'm not seeing it. After a few weeks, I can tell when I pop a new battery in this thing. It hits MUCH harder with a fresh charge. Also, over the past few days I've noticed this thing hitting unexpectedly harder. As I check my coil resistance I can see that it's dropping. I normally keep it set at around 14/15 watts, but I'm having to back it down a little as my coil resistance drops. I can only assume it's going to die soon. Maybe there's a problem with my VTR. I don't know... but I'm just saying, this thing doesn't hold a constant output.
  11. This has been my plan for a while... just haven't gotten around to it. I have a case already but I hacked up the insert for my gopro stuff.
  12. I've had my Provari for less than two weeks and now the thing wants to keep throwing E1/E2 error codes. I've tried multiple tank configurations... thought I fixed it by cleaning the contact area where the tank meets the "battery." Funny... my spinners don't do that...
  13. I'll second the vote for the Vision Spinners as well, but I had trouble with the bottom coil ProTank. I recommend the Vivi Nova as a good nOOb tank system. They're just.. easy to use.
  14. This is what I was getting at... if the device adjust the voltage running to the coil to maintain a constant vape, wouldn't coils of any resistance (theoretically) burn the same? I guess I could experiment with it... I'm really just being curious.
  15. Well, I read a thread yesterday that had a link to an article regarding the difference between VW and VV, and I wanted to ask this question on that thread but now I can't find it... so here goes. I've decided to try a VW machine. Based on what I've read, I am lead to believe that the coil resistance does not matter as the voltage will be adjusted automatically to produce desired wattage. Is that correct? And if so, what resistance coils should I buy? Does it matter? Do different resistance coils seem to last longer on VW devices? Thanks in advance... R
  16. Where are you? This is OT but I have two 302 motors that I had long ago planned on combining and sticking in my Jeep. The Jeep is long gone and I need to get rid of those motors... PM me if you know anybody that might be interested.
  17. I'm right behind you... between the Provari last week with batteries and charger and then the VTR this week, I'm right on your heels! Damn gadgets.
  18. I understand this now that I have my Provari. With my spinners I never stood them upright as they seemed unstable, but I do with the provari and the coils dry out easily. I keep having to lay the thing over to keep them good and "primed." This led me to order a Kanger Unitank, so I'm going to try the bottom coil again, but it's going to be hard to let go of my Vivi Novas.
  19. Now I have a VTR in the mail. This forum is making my vaping expensive.
  20. I wish I had read that before I bought my Provari. Ooops. Meh well... It's not like you can have TOO MUCH gear.
  21. Thanks guys. I had to go buy a Provari just from reading this thread. People keep talking about saving money by switching from analogs... what they don't tell you is that all of it ends up going towards gear!
  22. I had problems with the KPT2... I can get it to work well, but it seems to require constant cleaning and leaks frequently. I switched to the Vision Vivi Nova and love it, so mch in fact that I just picked up a second one. It draws really smooth and produces good vapor. It rarely gurgles, and I've found that when it does I can just vape it a little bit hotter and burn off the excess liquid. I stongly recommend the vivi nova (I paid about $12 from myvaporstore.com). I also picked up an Innokin iclear 30 (dual coil), but I'm only on day two with it. I like it so far, but I still prefer the vivi nova. Using the Vision Spinner power source with all of them.
  23. I agree with the OP. I started vaping to get away from cigarettes, like so many other people. I really didn't start to ENJOY vaping until I got my spinner. I'm currently using a Vivi Nova with spinner set around 4.3v, about ready to order a few more spinners. I buy from myvaporstore.com and have had nothing but good experience with them.
