  1. Uhhh....OK, if you say so. Never happened here, but yeah, stop at the max line if it makes you feel safer.
  2. Unscrew the top ridged, metal ring where it meets the plastic tank and drip your juice down the side of the tank until it reaches the bottom of the interior threads of the tank. Replace the top, give it a few minutes and then vape away.
  3. Northern Michigan here....Petoskey, to be exact. I don't usually vape in public bars & restaurants, for no other reason than I just want to change some of my habits associated with nicotine so that I'm eventually free of the addiction altogether. I was a pack a day-er of Marlboro Lights for 32 years before I started vaping 6 1/2 months ago. I credit it with changing and saving my life after trying & failing for years at pretty much all other methods to get off analogs. Like many (most?), I started with disposables (Blu) to trial vaping before making an investment in something more practical. I quickly progressed to a rechargeable cig-a-like, then an ego battery with clearomizers, then most recently a Vamo with dual coil clearos. Since there is no B&M outlet within 200 miles if where I live, my equipment & supplies are purchased online. Even if there was an outlet nearby, I think I'd still buy online for the savings. When a cigarette smoker asks me about taking up vaping, I usually suggest they start with a disposable to see if it's something they want to do, but to quickly move up to a rechargeable system. Big tobacco now owns the disposable market and I don't care to see them profit from it, not to mention pollute the whole vaping experience by starting to add chemicals and toxins to their products.
  4. ....oops....no, he's not. His facebook page is up.
  5. Blogger took him down today cuz there was some malware that found its way onto his pages. He is back up now.
  6. I sleep with my 2-week disposable contacts in.....have for years with no problems. Well, I keep a small bottle of saline eyedrops on my nightstand that I reach for within a few moments of waking up so that I can put a drop in each eye to wet the lens. I also USED to sometimes have a bottle of e-juice on the same nightstand. I don't do that any longer. Derp!
  7. Again....this is a sale. This is not their regular every day price. The object of a sale is to drive new business by offering discounted prices, increase your brand/company familiarity and incent people to become loyal customers. There's alot of this type of sale going on right now; check it out for yourself on the deal blogs. Price wars are a good thing for consumers and are what drive a free market economy. It's a win-win deal, and let's face it, with a product that basically consists of 3 ingredients, it's going to be what culls the herd. That and service levels. Whoever can find a way to efficiently deliver a good product more cheaply than the competition wins and prospers. Lucky 7 Vapors (or any other maker) should not have a sale that they cannot deliver on in a timely manner. The practice is counter-productive and a surefire business killer. I don't accept the excuse "they had alot of orders". That's ridiculous. BTW....I just visited their FB page, and see alot of excuses and promises.....right alongside their post that they're planning "another big sale." Really? Wow. And $4.99 IS out of line for 2 bottles of juice sent regular domestic first class in a bubble mailer. I know what shipping rates are. Anyway....point here is that anyone can throw up a pre-boxed merchant website and start taking orders with no real plan behind it. As for myself, I will still look for deals, but do my homework before clicking the Submit Order button.
  8. So....like many others, I follow VaporJoe's Blog to find good deals and save some cash. Face it, vaping, while not as expensive as smoking analogs, can still be pretty expensive. Now that I'm set up with my APV and clearos of choice, juice is the biggest expense. Was loving a company that put out really nice juice that came pre-steeped and the company had some really good prices and would frequently run bogo deals and discounts off their facebook page. Then all of a sudden they jumped their prices up $15 on their "modules" and stopped offering any discounts. No biggie....time to hunt around for some deals, right? While browsing VaporJoe's a couple weeks ago, I came across a post for a juice company I hadn't heard of before, but they were offering a really sweet deal of $8.99 for 120ml. Company name is Lucky 7 Vapes. Even though their shipping of $4.99 was ludicrous, I thought what the heck....still a good deal, so I found a couple of flavors that looked good and placed an order. Bam....right away got a confirmation email and the money left my bank account. Well...that was 2 weeks ago and my order is still in "Awaiting Fulfillment" status. I contacted them through their website 3 days ago and to my surprise got a reply back right away, basically saying "Sorry....we've been trying to catch up. We'll either ship tomorrow or refund your money". I wrote back and said fine, ship tomorrow, and got another reply back saying "will do". As of today, my order still sits unfilled. I probably shoulda seen it coming, but ya' hope, you know? Here's this company that ran a big sale to attract new business and introduce people to their juice (they still would make a profit, even at the sale price, too). If they have decent juice and offer reasonable prices, they would garner a good chunk of new business. Instead, they have totally screwed the pooch and turned off new customers in droves. Eventually I will either get my juice or file a dispute through my bank and get credited the money. But I will NEVER buy juice from them again. I will also be very careful about placing orders with these companies that offer these big sales, and do alot of research before I willy-nilly place an order just because it's a fantastic sale. It just boggles my mind that there are merchants out there that have such poor business sense that they take an opportunity to gain alot of customers in the highly competitive juice market and turn it into a business-killing fiasco. Lesson learned.
  9. I "flush" the last flavor out of my attys by dripping a few drops of plain VG into them and then vape. Repeat a couple of times until the last flavor is gone. You can purchase VG fairly inexpensively at several online sources. I always save a couple of my spent juice bottles, remove the lable, wash them out and re-purpose them for VG or DIY juice. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with rinsing out a 510-type dripping atty.
  10. I'm a HUGE fan of Moon Mountain Vapor and would recommend their juices to anyone. My regulars with them are Dusty Boots, Sweet Mother of Mercury and Sweet Mother of Mars. If you like an RY4-type that has a nice, robust tobacco hit with just very subtle notes of caramel and vanilla, you'll probably like the SMoMars. They also have a good selection of fruity/berry flavors if you're into those. I have found that their juices come pretty much ready-to-vape and have a great throat hit and tons of vapor. They focus on juices, so their site isn't cluttered with alot of hardware ads....just some tips and mod holders. Also, they mix their juices at 60/40, but I believe that they will custom mix at a different ratio if you request in the order remarks section at checkout. Definitely worth checking them out. Hint: Check out their facebook page for discount codes, which they run pretty frequently.
  11. Quick question from a newbie DIYer: What exactly is the best way to achieve the "15% flavor to base" ratio listed in Uma's original post? Math was never my strong point, but I'm thinking there has to be an easier way than pre-mixing each of the flavors with the nic base at 15/85 prior to executing the recipe?? BTW....I'm using JuiceMeUp as my mixing calculator, so if there's a way to do it in the calculator, I'm not seeing it. Can someone help me get my pea-brain around this? LOL
  12. There is a major juice producer in Gaylord, "Purebacco". They make for Namber (Grimm Green's line) and Flavorz by Joe (Joe Castro's line). You'd think there would be more of a community with them around, but they have no bricks & mortar outlet and they no doubt have some non-compete requirements that they must abide by, but still..... I've been playing with the idea of opening a vape store in Petoskey. God knows there's plenty of analog smokers around up here, so may be a good customer base of converts, but as you no doubt know, this area runs a little behind the times in certain aspects.. Just kinda waiting to see what, if anything, the FDA does in terms of regulation and whether any legislation occurs within the next year or so. I'm sure you've already trolled the ECF forums to see if there's any vapers in the area.
  13. Noob here (4 months at it), and I went on a similar quest early on. Not real big on sweet/desert-type liquids, which there seems to be an abundance of, and started looking for a more tobacco-oriented RY4 with just some mild undertones of caramel & vanilla. Went through quite a few suppliers until I found one that really knocked my socks off: Moon Mountain Vapor's new Sweet Mother of Mars. Its emphasis is definitely on the tobacco notes; the mild caramel/vanilla is noticeable on the inhale and the exhale is ALL tobacco. They only produce their juices in one pg/vg ratio (believe it's 60/40), but they may honor special requests in the order notes at checkout. I've tried 4 of their juices (Sweet Mother of Mercury, Sweet Mother of Mars, Sweet Mother of Neptune and Dusty Boots) and they've all been very tasty....arrive ready to vape, I've never had to steep to get a full-body taste....don't know if they're pre-steeping or just blend in enough flavoring to make them full-flavored from the get-go. They also have BOGOs and discounts (check their FB page) all the time. Has anyone else tried these guys?
  14. Hey Comp...any news on Northern MI clubs? I live just outside of Petoskey, and although just beginning to search around, have not heard of anything up here, either. Would be great to get a group together....there's gotta be some vapers around! I'm fairly new to it (4 months smoke-free) and would really like to gather with a group to discuss things and compare notes. Lots that I want to try (dripping, mods, Rebuildables, DIY and new juices, etc). Hope something comes up. If I hear of anything, I'll pass it on. Cheers!
