  1. It's not regular silica wick, it's ceramic and it had to be heat treated at 1,200+ degrees for hours upon hours before use, plus rbasupplies claims to have developed a perfected method to processing the wick to utilize it's full potential. I ordered a foot at first because I was skeptical, but now that I've tried it I can say it's amazing and there's nothing else like it out there that I know of.
  2. Hi, and welcome to VT! I agree with everyone that has said start low and turn the settings up until it tastes burnt, then turn it down one. You can also use this chart as a reference, if you know the resistance of the heads - this chart will give you a better idea of the range of voltage you should be using. http://www.vaporsworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/power-vaping-chart-lg.jpg Here is a more indepth set of charts that also include wattage, and other variables such as number of coils, etc. http://imgur.com/a/bGb1r#XUvOL0w
  3. 2x Sony US18650VTC4 30amps 2' of rbasupplies.com 2mm ReadyXwick (ceramic heat treated) and another 1' of 3mm Xwick.

Or get one of those 40% off coupons and pick it up at Michaels for $6!
  5. Thanks Comp! That's the 'econo' version which comes with two different size rods, apparently the deluxe version comes with a total of 5 for some more variety of coil sizes.
  6. Hey guys and gals, I've been looking at the QCoiler for a while now and after reading some posts in the new product section about people who had pre-ordered it getting their money refunded I was in search of a new "coiler" device to assist with wrapping coils. Check out what I found. http://ozcrafts.com.au/The-Deluxe-Coiling-Gizmo-P2348642.aspx That little guy, called the 'Deluxe Coiling Gizmo' is meant for jewelry and bead making I guess, but it's perfect for coils according to some vapers that have used it. Check out the video below for a great example. I've also been told that it's being sold at Michaels Arts & Craft stores for $10.99, I found it on Amazon for $9-something, and it's available with free shipping for prime members. After seeing this I really can't think of any reason that people with even the most novice mechanical skills couldn't rebuild and make their own coils for pennies to the dollar in terms of purchasing premade wicks. Except of course if you don't have any way to check your resistance! In that case, JUST DON'T DO IT. It's not safe.
  7. http://vaporgalleria.com/store/store-accessories-rebuildable-the-micro-puck-by-aerisphere/dp/1797 Found that after a quick search on google for "puck coiler" ALSO found this.. http://www.amazon.com/Artistic-Wire-Coiling-Deluxe-Jewelry/dp/B0068RQ85K Which I'm told is sold at Michaels Arts & Crafts for $10.99, and they usually offer a 40% off coupon.. so for $6 this might not be bad. A few people on amazon have reviewed the Deluxe Coiler gizmo and said it worked great for wrapping vape coils.
  8. I'm not familiar with the iTaste 30b, but on my kanger protank which is also a dual bottom coil, I remove the Pyrex tank so the 510 connector plate and coil are still screwed in to my mod, then I take the metal shaft and silicone collar off the wick, so the actual coil is exposed, if there is excess juice on the wick I use a qtip or papertowel to dab it off, and then I press and hold the fire button for 5-10 seconds at a time until the remaining liquid is vaporized off the wick and its dry, then you continue pressing and holding the fire button for 5-8 seconds until the coil starts to turn completely red, I let it stay red for a second or two then let go of the button and let the wick go back to normal color, then I repeat the process several times until all the gunk is burned off the coil. As the coil first starts to heat up you might see some dark smoke which is the carbon deposits burning, and it smells pretty bad for a few seconds, after you've "dry burned" the coil red a couple times and it's no longer creating any smoke/vapor you're good to go.
  9. I see what you mean about the finish. I'm a big fan of the "matte" myself, I had never heard of Cerakote before, but it sounds amazing after reading up on it.. I've got a few big boy toys that would look great with cerakote. I wonder how difficult it is to apply compared to powder coat.
  10. Can I ask what your interest in a RBA is? Different people have different reasons for using them and perhaps if you're not ready to start building them yourself there may be another tank out there that suits your needs. On the other hand, you can purchase pre-made wicks, which is what a lot of people have a little difficulty with at first, fasttech sells them and they have good reviews apparently. If you decide to go the pre-made route you will still need to check the resistance on the coil/build, so you'll need either an apv with that function or a multimeter, or one of those black box atomizer/carto meters.
  11. Hey Greg, Welcome to VT!
  12. Josh if I remember correctly black zinc looks amazing on stainless - it's not as shiny or reflective as straight up black chrome, but it holds up really well because it's a thicker coating and scratch resistant. You should google some images and check it out for yourself. As far as aluminum is concerned I've been hard pressed to find anything that looks better than black anodize, especially "hardcoat" which is type III The type II doesn't look as good on "cast" parts though.
  13. It definitely wasn't anodized, I'm very familiar with what that looks like. Actually after doing a quick google search, I think it's Black Rhodium - there are some pics of a black rho nemesis and chi you.
  14. I went to a new B&M that opened up not to far yesterday and I was pretty impressed with the selection and quality of his stuff. He mixes his own liquids, and claims that he is about to sign a national contract to be sold in 3,000+ shops, he carries a large selection of tanks, mods, accessories and is very knowledgeable. When he realized I knew a little bit about vaping he brought out a black nemesis and chi you, to me they looked very similar to black chrome, but he claimed they were black iridium coated - I work in sheet metal manufacturing and I had never heard of that kind of chemical film before for metals. Has anyone ever heard of a black iridium coating for mods? He said they were custom manufactured for him, and he was selling them fast. Reason I'm curious is because the black chrome finish available on lots of mods seems to wear off very quickly, and I'm wondering if the same thing would happen with the nemesis and chi yous he has. I asked him to text me some pictures of the two mods and I will post them up on here in case anyone is interested in seeing them, or purchasing them. I walked away with my very first dripper (nimbus) and 15ml of Banana Nut Bread in 12mg mixed up fresh while I waited.
  15. I'm really kickin myself in the butt for not holding off before I bought a 2nd BCC - I wanted to have a replacement incase anything happened to my PT3 which I use all day while at work, so I ordered another one. It was days later when I started reading up on the Nautilus and if I would have waiting I definitely would have skipped out on the PT3 for the Nautilus.
