I started just to save money, but have come to love everything else about vaping too.

New to vaping, got my first rig at their San Antonio store. Largely just want to reinforce whats been said. Staff is highly knowledgable, friendly and not high pressure. I guess if you vape all day at work you tend towards mellow.

The liquid selection is kind of nuts. 350+ flavors, 12-24 mg/ml nic mix on hand and can special order down to 0 or up to 36. Since their liquids are mixed here in TX they can get you spcial orders in just under a week.

Open space, tables and chairs to chill and vape, play with your rig or try different flavors. The space and the staff build an environment you just want to hang out in.

Even if I was to find an online retailer that sold hardware or liquid cheaper, I'd probably keep giving them my business. The prices are reasonable, and the staff has earned my trust already. Big props to a brick and mortar store doing it right and giving you something you just can't get online.

    A Noobie's Guide to Batteries

While in the chat room one night, someone was asking if there was a guide for batteries. He was hearing all these battery numbers in the conversation, and not familiar enough to follow along. I decided to write this guide to help familiarize the noobs to all the batteries we use for mods.

All of the batteries we use are either 3.7volts or 3.0volts. There is however a 5volt battery used in the Mako Maksi, but it's not one of the popular batteries you frequently hear about, so I'll just concentrate this discussion on the 3 and 3.7volt varieties.

The 3.0volt batteries are primarily used in pairs for a total of 6.0volts for 6volt vaping, and single battery mods are 3.7volts. The 3.7volt batteries are usually only paired if the mod has a voltage regulator (adjustable or fixed) for consistency in voltage throughout battery life and load conditions. Now that you have a little background on how the batteries are used, let's try to make sense out of the numbering system.

The first 2 digits of the battery number indicate the dimension measuring across the battery. So a 10440 measures 10mm across, a 14500 measures 14mm across, and so forth, and the last 3 digits make reference to the length. For example the last 3 digits in a 14500 battery would suggest that the length would be 50.0mm long, but that would be for the unprotected version of the battery. The overcharge/overdischarge protection circuit will add between 2 and 3 mm to the length of the battery, so a 14500 is really 52.5mm long.

Aside from the physical size of the battery, there is something referred to as mah (milliamp hour) rating. This is a capacity rating of the battery, and indicates the amount of energy the battery can store. In other words, how long it will last between charges (more mah, more charge life). Physical size will affect mah ratings, and therefore smaller size batteries will typically have lower mah ratings. Some batteries are available in more than 1 mah rating.

Below is a listing of the more commonly used batteries in e-cigarette mods.

**This is not meant to be a complete list, so please don't shoot me of you know of a battery I didn't list.**

About 6 weeks ago I bought a Fin menthol starter kit at my neighborhood WalMart. I was not looking to quit smoking, just save some money. As a guy that went through a carton every two weeks for 12 years, this was a heck of a deal. On my way home I thought "I think I may have just quit smoking... but that's crazy." I woke up the next morning wanting my coffee any my morning smoke... but not a smoke I wanted my Fin. I had quit smoking, more or less accidentally.

Two weeks later I went into a local specialty store (Vaporescence) not havng any idea what to expect, and walked out with an eGo starter kit.

Two weeks after that I was injecting eliquid into my dead Fin carts with a syringe because I'm clearly nuts. Yes, I realize this may have been a bad idea. I also already burned out one eGo T battery using the wrong charger. I can't help but experament with this stuff. I already want an eGo twist set up. The hobbyist side of vaping has clearly hooked me.

It's been six weeks since my last true tobacco-and-fire type cig. My last pack with my last six cigarettes and lighter is sitting on a bookshelf and unlikely to do anything other than collect dust.

So now I'm here. Looking to connect with other enthusiasts and learn more about what is apparently my new hobby. I guess you'll be seeing me around.

Awesome to hear! My husband and I weren't planning to quite either. It just sort of happened.

Congratulations for giving it a try!

Locations in Texas: Richardson, Ft Worth, Denton, San Antonio

Price: 16.95 per 30 ml bottles (+ tax, at least for in store pick up)

    Highlights:

    - huge selection of juice, all made in Texas. (I believe it's a 70/30 pg/vg mix, but they won't say anymore. My personal favorite: cherry 16 mg) also has PGA on tables to clean out atties when tasting from their selection, even has house atties for us tank users to try stuff out. Priced at 16.95 per 30 ml bottle, varying strengths but no alternative bottle sizes.

    - staff is highly knowledgeable. They'll spend a good half hour with you making sure you're set up and comfortable using hardware.

    - If you're looking for a bargain, look online. However, if you're a Newb then it's worth paying a couple extra bucks to have someone walk you through everything. They won't push a first timer into an expensive mod, either.

    - liquinator tank system. Highly reccomend. It is a bit more expensive, but I've had a great experience using this. No leaks, easy to fill.

Cons: wish they had some kind of referral program. I've sent them some good business, and just want some free juice! Lol.

Pro-tip: for anyone who wishes their job was "vape friendly" get your boss to start vaping. Best thing I ever did, and now nobody cares if I vape. Plus having your boss make vape store runs is great time saver!

I'm unsure how fast the shipping times are, but I'm told they usually ship orders out within 24 hours. But I have not personally ordered and had it shipped. YMMV.
