  1. OMG, I am shocked! I cannot stand how corrupt these people are here in N.Y., more so than any other State, and to base it on lies, not uncommon for N.Y. They want us to pay their ridiculous taxes. What snakes! We need to give them a taste of their own medicine. As far as I can tell, the U.S. Court of Appeals reinstated the FDA authority merely to stop entering the Country March 2010. Here is one main dispute about how to regulate them: They cannot decide if they should be regulated as tobacco products, rather than drug or medical devices. Also the original case has NOT been exhausted from the lower Courts to the higher Courts over jurisdiction of the product. Please remember there is still time to fight this by directly calling or faxing your elected officials and to tell them how this device has helped you and to dispute them and what they claim are facts. This Bill still needs to pass the Senate and subsequently within a matter of so many days depending on the votes to be signed by the governor to become an active Law on the Books. See: HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW IN New York STATE http://www.bcnys.org.../sb/billlaw.htm "Many believe that the FDA was reluctant to take legal action as long as its jurisdiction over the product was being challenged in court, and especially after a lower court judge questioned the agency's authority. However, now that the Court of Appeals has issued an order reaffirming the agency's power over e-cigarettes -- at least until the current case in the higher court is concluded -- the agency may feel that they have to be more aggressive and crack down on the growing market." http://en.wikipedia....ronic_cigarette January 2010 In January 2010, federal judge Richard J. Leon ordered the FDA to stop blocking the importation of electronic cigarettes from China, and indicated that the devices should be regulated as tobacco products, rather than drug or medical devices: "[...] With the passage of landmark tobacco legislation last year, the FDA's new tobacco division will be able to regulate the contents and marketing claims of e-cigarettes, in the same way it is about to begin regulating traditional tobacco products. But the agency's drug division cannot ban the devices [...]". Richards mentioned in his reasoning that e-cigarettes were not marketed as medical devices to help smokers quit, as FDA had argued, but rather as safer substitutes to give users the "nicotine hit that smokers crave".[35] In February 2010, the FDA began an appeal of the ruling in a federal appeals court in Washington.[36] March 2010 However, as of March 2010, a US Court of Appeals reinstated the FDA's authority to stop e-cigarettes from entering the country. The agency said in its appeal that it has regulated nicotine products, including nicotine patches, for years under the drug and device provisions of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDCA). The agency argued that tobacco legislation enacted last year "expressly excludes from the definition of 'tobacco product' any article that is a drug, device or combination product under the FDCA, and provides that such articles shall be subject to regulation under the pre-existing FDCA provisions."[37] It was then up to states until the FDA regulated what these devices were at the Federal Level to take their own action as did California. It was only going to be time before other states make their own interpretation, or demands and control as far as I see things, while other areas are still disputing it. The only reason I believe the FDA's first attempt to control it was faltered and was appealed was because of a Law Suit by an ecig company here in the U.S. and the various agencies attempts to define these devices and which agency will control them did not seem to agree. You can read about the lawsuit here and interestingly why they cannot ban cigarettes as the Attorneys argued here link below, but can ban these! http://legaltimes.ty...e-embargo-.html From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "In California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill that would have banned sales, stating "[...] If adults want to purchase and consume these products with an understanding of the associated health risks, they should be able to do so [...]"[38]. In New Jersey, legislators have started work on a proposal to ban the use of electronic cigarettes in all "no smoking areas" of the state.[39] Please remember there is still time to fight this by directly calling or faxing your elected officials and to tell them how this device has helped you and to dispute them and what they claim are facts. This Bill still needs to pass the Senate and subsequently within a matter of so many days depending on the votes to be signed by the governor to become an active Law on the Books. See: HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW IN NEW YORK STATE http://www.bcnys.org.../sb/billlaw.htm Possible Debate Issues to Bring up with Facts: You may want to dispute that the various assemblymen that voiced their opinions that led to such votes against it taped on the Video Evidence were NOT BASED on any real conclusive facts and that they by rendering us to the alternatives will be causing all much more harm than good. I would suggest that they do their homework next time and I would counterclaim to them that the chemical they claim is in antifreeze is in fact approved by the FDA as a food additive and in fact already in many of our foods. Ironically the Honorable Titonce did not even name the chemical he was speaking of that he believed to be found in antifreeze and ecig devices. Here is what I found. I either buy ejuice in made with PG and VG, along with distilled water possibly some may have nicotine in it and maybe some sort of tobacco flavoring, and or candy flavors. I believe a sort of tobacco essence and flavorings are used. If there are any others than it is not to my knowledge. I currently am even making some of my own ejuice out of the same ingredients mentioned minus the tobacco flavor and nicotine. I would like to hear from those who actually make and sell the ejuice to properly be able to dispute their claims, if there are any from the U.S. here. But here is the info on the two main possibly 3 ingredients I know of aside from Nicotine. There was some argument that Diethylene glycol was found in only some of the cartridges, by only two venders. While this may be the case, and Diethylene glycol is listed as a dangerous substance, we need to dispute that it is common to these devices or the eliquids we buy for them or use. http://en.wikipedia....ethylene_glycol One possible tobacco essence: 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-pyrone http://www.chemicalb...N_CB5768714.htm PG: propylene glycol http://en.wikipedia....ropylene_glycol Quoted from therein: Applications Propylene glycol is used: As a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations. (Note: Infrequently propylene glycol may also use the acronym MEG, but as an abbreviation of methyl ethyl glycol- the industry standard acronym for propylene glycol is PG or MPG (monopropylene glycol)). The industrial norm is to replace ethylene glycol with propylene glycol when safer properties are desired. Hopefully democracy proves to be stronger then capitalism in this matter because there is 4,000,000 of 8,000,000 smokers whose lives will be saved in the next 20 years because of the electronic cigarette, according to a letter written to the FDA from the American Association of Public Health Physicians." FDA from the American Association of Public Health Physicians Writing on behalf of electronic cigarette users SEE LINK BELOW: http://www.e-cig.org...tor-of-the-fda/ Please tell them next time to get their facts straight. As far as the Honorable Titonce's story about a child being able to get these devices over the Internet that carries nicotine, please ask him what child he has given a creditcard to in order to buy such a thing, and what parent is not watching what their kids on doing online, as well as to show us just one ecig website that does not ask if you under or over 18 before entering? If they are so worried about children on the Internet than maybe they should do something about porn websites or either stop watching porn themselves on our dime instead of doing any real labor, while trying to control what we do as adults. We are not going to pay for their outright hypocritical views and actions any more while they pick our pockets. We have woken up to their thievery of our pockets as well as any types of ingenuity that save us from their taxes, their control and the various CORPS PAYING THEM to enact laws to KILL us, as well as and their attempts to make some logic out of the ridiculous. Example, if they are really so worried about our health, and we are in fact buying these devices because not only are they safer, and cheaper, but save ourselves from the thousands of carcinogens deliberately put into tobacco products, then why do they allow us to eat food that contains aspertain proven to shut down all of our organs and cause Cancer, beef with hormones that effect our biology in negative ways, or Monsanto with bioengineered seeds and grains with effects altering our very genes in such a way that we will never be able to reverse any adverse effects and all kinds of additives that are killing us! When should we ever trust such arrogant, corrupt and greedy people ever again to control our health much less their attempts to look or act sane anymore! (THIS PART, JUST MY ANGRY RANT, LOL!) PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO MENTION ALL THE FIRES THAT OCCUR AS A RESULT OF CIGARETTES AND LOSS OF LIFE AND HOW THESE DEVICES WILL PHYSICALLY SAVE LIVES AND PROPERTY UNLESS THEY FORCE US BACK TO CIGARETTES. ALSO MENTION THAT CIGARETTES HAVE OVER 4,000 chemical agents, including over 60 carcinogens AND 599 additives that are very dangerous and approved by the US Government for use in the manufacture of cigarettes is something every smoker should see, yet it is illegal to ban them! http://www.tricounty...ngredients.html http://quitsmoking.a...ingredients.htm http://whyquit.com/w...o_Additives.htm
  2. Hi There, So Greaaaaaaaaaat to chat and find you again! How are you doing? I wanted to contact you before but got pretty ill when it was still cold. then could not find my login, password, and even the "forgot password" on forum did not work at first for me. Turned out I was on the wrong forum. LOL!
  3. I remember those days. It does get much better, and they will make you laugh so hard. Innocence is a wonderful thing. There are so many stages. watch out for the stage when they can get their hands on things, you will be amazed the things they can do, and you will wonder where they got it from! LOL!
  4. Hi Brian, Good to hear from you too. How are you? Thanks to everyone here, I have not picked up a analog since the day after I got my kit. I even went to '0" nic. How are you doing with things?
  5. BTW, I cannot remember if it was you or Shawn, congrats on the new baby! I saw it somewhere on one of the store pages. I have a son named Shawn, and a step son named Chris, so it is hard for me to forget either of your names or differentiate! LOL!
  6. Hi Chris, Thank you for the info. You can make so many mistakes when starting out. Just the guy I wanted to talk to. I hope it is OK to ask you this here, but I wanted to go to a different passthrough. I had been using the 510 that I started with. But me and these Chinese made products with those tiny thin wires do not go well together. LOL! I already went through one, where I spent a week trying to figure out why it would work one minute and not the next. First, I thought it was a dead atomizer, then maybe a dead battery. These things can make you crazy. Turned out one day, I saw a tiny piece of rubber or maybe is is plastic around the wire just beneath the ecig right at the bottom of it starting to fray with the wire just about to break off. No more of these cheap thin wire products. I want to buy one of your VP Ecig USB Passthrough's, but it says "sold out". Do you know when you will have any more? I am waiting to buy it from you. Thank you so much for your reply.
  7. Hi Everyone, I started on this forum in January. Everyone was so helpful. I really wanted to do something to thank everyone, but I figured I did not know enough to help anyone else until now. It seemed like every time I thought I knew something, it turned out I didn't. LOL! Good to be back and have something to share. Recently I finally went through all my new atomizers. I had not purchased any more. I had washed most of them except for the last one I was using. The rest of them either had that burnt taste, chemical taste, burnt rubber taste, or just were not getting enough vapor. I tried everything I could find on the forums. Nothing seemed to work. One I had, still had that chemical taste and I realized this is what burns your throat when you first start. After everything I tried, I thought about someone trying to use a frying pan that was already burnt. Until you get the burnt stuff off, anything you try to cook with it will taste burnt or it will not cook your foods right. Even if you use a new cart, eventually that will taste burnt also. Then one day I realized everyday with these devices seemed different, at least many of them. I came to think of the atomizers like putting a frying pan on the stove. If you don't keep your atomizer moist with some eliquid it will burn and get that awful taste. Kind of like frying something without any juice or oil. I know many are going to laugh at this, but it worked for me. I took one of my atomizers and filled it with oven cleaner. I made sure I cleaned off the outside to make sure the finish did not get ruined. I then put it on a small plate with a paper towel like a glass standing up filled with water and let it stand overnight. The following day I rinsed it in hot water and let it soak in the hot water for a while to get the cleaner residue off. I took a wooden spoon and agitated the atomizer in a bowl filed with hot water. I did that 3 times. When done, I saw some tiny specs of black. I then put the atomizer on another clean paper towel and let it dry over night. The following day I put a few drops of eliquid in it, a clean filter with eliquid, and primed it. It works great now. No bad taste, and it vapes tons of vapor now. I now make sure not to burn them. If I start to smell or taste that burnt taste, I immediately drip a few drops of eliquid on the atomizer and fill my cart too. I have since done this with all of my atomizers that I could not get right any more, and they all work great now! Hope this method helps and might even restore some that people thought were gone. Very easy too!
  8. Again right about longevity. You would think the older you get the smarter. But we are always learning. Don't kid yourself I know so many people who are intellectuals in many areas. The one thing I notice is they do all the talking, and never think they can learn anything new. You are wiser than you think. Besides I like kidding around with you, but only when I am speaking the truth. LOL! Love the new cat. I am already tired of mine too!
  9. Hey FTJoe, do you realize that on this particular question part of the forum for people who answered or posted, so far you are the longest standing member, and longest quit time? You are so right and one of the best! Like I say, I am still learning, Always! And I like to learn from the best. Lol!
  10. Hey Brian, Good to hear from you too. I guess until I am more experienced, that is the only thing I can say to encourage others to overcome and not give up. (And pray for them too). I have tried to pass all the support I have received here to anyone I can find in my local area that I see smoking to try to help. I have even loaned out one of my e-cigs to convince some in my area to try this. My kit came with two e-cigs. I am pretty much surprised as I did not get much of a reaction from them. The girl at the garage giving up broke my heart, I could not stop thinking about her. I know I am going to see her again and try to convince her to maybe join this forum and try to find out more about why she did not care for it. Her boyfriend was in a hurry as he was closing up shop. LOL!
  11. Hey DAYVAPE, Nice to meet you. I am glad there are so many here that understand. Thank you so much for your post.
  12. The best People I have met in years. I get so overwhelmed by their willingness to help, it sometimes brings tears to my eyes and I feel almost like crying when I think of how blessed I have been since meeting them. That really cool forum member was even cooler than one could imagine. They told me to pay it forward! I have been trying to help anyone I know that smokes since. It is a great feeling to try to help someone else, and to try to hopefully save their life. Great advice for us all, to help someone else!
  13. Just an update and some thoughts. I happened to have to go to a car repair place where they had been working on my car. I thought it was done and inspected, so I took a cab there. Turned out, it was far from the needed repairs. I brought my ecig with me. As I was discussing it with the Mechanic of how I quit regular smokes, he pointed to his girlfriend sitting off in a corner and said, "she should quit". I showed her my ecig, and she said she had purchased one too, but still needed her regular smokes. She said it had not worked for her. I was stunned. I tried to encourage her not to give up on the ecig. As I had to go back home without my car and literally still stuck without means to get anywhere, I gave some thought to this girl and why her ecig did not work for her. The thought occurred to me that even after a week of using my e-cig, I am still learning new things about it. I have throughout my short journey so far asked many questions on this forum, and to many members. I had times I could not get vapor, and it hurt my throat so bad I could not vape much, and the eliquid I purchased was just too strong for me and made me ill. That alone could have caused me to give up on this device. My biggest mistake in ordering was to add a very high nicotine level eliquid with my first kit. I did not order any others to try because of the cost. I thought because I had been a heavy smoker that was where I should start. Wrong, made me very ill and dizzy. I had also thought I could save money and cut it down with VG if I needed to. Good thought, except I have not had my car since I received my e-cig product. I had seen that online Wal-Mart had VG, and that was my plan except I could not get there and did not want to order online and have to pay shipping. I had been trying to quit cold turkey before I ordered my kit. I could not make it past a couple of days and realized my local store was getting just too expensive. So one day I made the decision just to go to the reservation for just a carton of smokes until my kit came. I had lost my income some months ago, and when it was time to get my car inspected, not only did I not have the funds, but the garage and mechanic I had trusted no longer did inspections. I was in the process of trying to find a new mechanic that I thought maybe reasonable and trustworthy and was just starting to get a little of my income back to get on my feet. But this particular day on the way to the reservation, I had just told my son in the car with me that, "I felt this was the last trip we would probably make to the reservation". I felt confident that when I received my e-cig that we would never have to drive back there again. And I figured the money I would save by the next month from not buying smokes would help me take care of our car situation. I no sooner said that, and I heard sirens. I was pulled over and ticketed. I have not been able to drive my car since as I am still trying to resolve the problem. It was the members of this forum that were so kind and helpful, I could not believe how nice everyone was, that helped me not give up during these problems. I did not even have the money to order a lower nicotine eliquid and so a forum member was kind enough to send me some. After receiving and using the lower nicotine eliquid, I no longer felt ill using this device. If it had not been for that member I would have had to give up the e-cig just because of my own biggest mistake. That was buying my kit with the highest nicotine level that made me pretty sick. I believe now this could be why some people may not succeed with this product, or just give up. I think people need to learn all they can before they order one of these devices, including what to expect, what type maybe best for them to purchase, and join these forums for tips, and help as they go down this path. I also think it would be helpful for people to start with a few different strengths of eliquid and possibly flavors. I am still so new to this, I do not feel qualified to help anyone new with any problems, but I just wanted to post this encounter that left me surprised and made me think so much about this girl or why some people may not succeed even with this device. I felt so bad for her, and wanted to help her not give up. So while these thoughts are fresh in my mind as someone who has encountered various problems I had to learn and overcome with this device, I wanted to post this. For anyone who may come across any difficulties and may want to just give up on these devices, I hope to encourage them not to. Many of these things can be overcome with the help and tips from many of the wonderful forum members here.
  14. I am always happy when someone brings up new things. I think we should all do that to find better devices if possible to help save health and costs and share this information. I was worried it would be against rules. I am wondering how long these things have been out in the U.S. Maybe they are still quite new for us, even though I know they have been out in the U.K. for at least 4 years.
  15. Hi There , Tried to go to link and download guide, especially the revised one that had advice for beginners. It wanted me to login to get it. Maybe do that later. Would like to see the pix and models.
  16. Hi UMA, Nice to meet you. I did more of a search on other forums. I did find one review that referenced these claims. Yet the person still says it rocks. Unusual and sketchy review. Maybe they were using one that was defective. I wonder if you are referring to the same, by a "Spikey" from "My Juicebox". I did find more good reviews than this one bad. But still will be looking forward to further reviews as others waiting for their kits may review later, to see if they have these same problems. From what I can see of vid reviews, the newer version 2, does have an LED light, but may not work the same.
  17. Hey JeffB and Brian, I took a clean empty cart after watching the video from Brians link. Wow, I like the direct dripping so much better! This time, no drops on my lips or mouth, Good vapor and better taste. Thanks. Much better and much easier than always messing with drops and filter material.
  18. Hi Nana, Please let us know. It sounds like something that would makes things more cost effective and efficient. Will be nice to know. Must be hard on Carlos to make these by hand and time consuming.
  19. Hi There Jeff, Great to hear form you again. WOW! What a hit! It worked. Won't this ruin something? LOL!
  20. Hi All, I am still brand new to this Vaping and Device. Have been vaping only a four days. I received my first ecig kit Wednesday January 13th 2010. Started on that day, but have been Smoke-Free almost three days now. I have posted before and everyone helped me so much to figure out what type of kit to start with. I was frustrated doing more and more research and never getting to the point of ordering. OK, my question is, “How do I continue to get enough vapor through my device, (a 510 Joye, Manual Battery), after 4 or 5 hits?” I have cleaned and blew through both the cart and atty. That worked for about another 3-5 hits. I cleaned all parts at night, and let dry on paper towel, just to have the same battle today. What am I doing wrong, or is this normal? I do push the manual button, just before I take a vape and slowly draw for about 5 seconds. Each attempt never is the same or has reliable results it seems. I can see why people get a sore throat. If you take a vape for too many seconds, or hold the manual button for too long before trying to get some vapor, it hurts your throat and you may not get any vapor anyhow. Then you try to top the Cart off, it may work another couple of times, and then you’re back again trying to get vapor with your draw. I still think this is a good alternative. But I just kept thinking stop the merry go round, either I am doing something wrong, or there has to be a better way. I did a little research before posting this and wondered if anyone has ever tried what they call the "Juice Box Mod"? They say it is a Mod, but from what I can see it is the ENTIRE DEVICE and all you really need except for the ejuice and maybe a recharger and couple of batteries. They have allegedly corrected what they say has been problematic in the Chinese designs and the same problems I am asking about. These vids say and show something to the effect of, “No more replacing atty’s, no more cleaning the atty's or carts, no more having to refill every so many vapes”. It has a system that works until your entire ejuice bottle (10ml) is empty. The system is self cleaning for the atty. Not the prettiest looking device, but I would use it at home and save on all the items a normal device may require me to replace or waste and hopefully make vaping more simple and reliable. Note, the device is so new, they say the atty has lasted at least the 6 months so far, and still going. I do not sell these, I am a newbie. I would like to know if anyone has tried one of these to know if the really work well? I would like to know if the question I have listed above is normal, or if this item may solve these so called short falls of the normal designs? http://www.avejuice.com/tech/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=12
