  1. So, I've tried to clean my batteries from time to time. Around and in the hole and the small holes, all not a problem, but the deep groove around the main thread is getting kind of black and gunky, and I don't seem to find anything that fits into that groove to clean inside. Anybody has an insider tip as to what tool to use? I think they don't charge quite right anymore because there is too much stuff in there. Thanks for any pointers!
  2. I just realised I forgot an s in my title..they are called vapesales (d'oh!)
  3. Neat design idea! 25 bucks? hmmm..valentines day is just around the corner *lol*
  4. Congrats! I gave my menthol cigs yesterday away to a Co-worker. I tried one analog on Superbowl evening in a drunk mood and had to put it out after two puffs, it was just too disgusting *lol*
  5. Yes, I have the boges and they've been the only consistent ones so far. Guess I have to stay with the stuff that works *lol* The Mega's from Ikenvape where just so good because with 70 drops holding I did not have to refill at all while at work.
  6. Ok...what is up with the recent problems with cartos? Can the chinese not keep working good anymore because the demand is on the rise? Out of the 5 kangers that came with my first kit two tasted burned though they were primed correctly, right off the bat. Out of the 10 Mega cartomizers I bought from Ikenvape, one box does not screw on my batteries. The whole box! 50 % bad of the whole order! What the heck! I don't have that kind of money to just throw it out the window. I mailed them and am curious if they will offer a solution for me. Are you recently having troubles, too?
  7. Their prices are really good even if you don't get the military discount. I have tried the Hurricane e-juice so far and the Chai ejuice...and I love the sweetness and the complex composition and undertones. What is very good for us is they deduct a dollar when you buy zero Nicotine liquid, and my husband just vapes for fun, like a hooka, and I am down to 6 mg, soon to be on 0.
  8. I like the Ice Cold Menthol from goodejuice . I tried their Emerald Square, the Dekang Nuport, and the menthol ice they sell as well, but in all those juices the tobacco taste was for me too dominant.
  9. Why they do that? Hoping for repeat business...a battery you can replace can be bought anywhere .
  10. If they find a way to tax e-juice I'm sure the whole topic would change. But for that they have to make us believe that e-juice is worse than nicotine gum or patches...
  11. And here is the update . The order came in today. On Saturday they emailed us if we really want the 808 D clearomizer or if that is the wrong type. We did not see the email for several hours and by the time we got around to reply the package was already sent out per the confirmation email we got from them. So...when I opened the package today, they had both thrown in the 808 D and the 510 Ego clearomizer, free of extra charge. All the e-juices came in and smell very good out of the bottle, I'll start to vape some a bit later. Additionally, they threw in another sample of 10 ml Georgia Peach e-juice, free of charge. And they also have a "referal" program, if you order with them and have a friend mention your name in the comments and they order for more than 25 dollars, you get a 10 dollar gift certificate. Might be interesting for some. Overall, I am super impressed with the customer service and how they went all out to make sure everything in my order was right, even if it would have been my fault for ordering the wrong part (but it was the right part for me, lol).
  12. I'm having severe acne problems since my primary care provider decided I'm getting "too old" for the combination pill and should just take progesterin only. Yeah. I told her that I had too much testoterone in me...Wouldn't believe me, and here I go again. Anyhow, my blemishes have gotten better over this last week. I have not used anything different but vaping instead of cigarettes, and I read somewhere that cigarettes actually promote the androgyn hormones, which makes sense to a degree. I just hope I can walk around again without looking worse than in puberty *lol* Sorry for the graphic description
  13. As my husband is active duty, we take advantage of military discounts if available. Vapesale gives you a whooping 50 % off their gold line juices if you can provide an id. So, I sent my husband on the mission to get a vapesale order in. The last 15 minutes they emailed back and forth as if it was live support going on and not email because the military discount did not work right. He had to get around the database and create a new order instead of providing a discount code because the shop did not take the discount code. They also offer free shipping, but with that way it hit us with 2 $ shipping. Paul mailed immediately back and said he will throw another bottle of juice in the order to make up for it. I will update this review once the order gets in, but I must say they were exceptional in their customer service and superfast to address any issues. If their juices taste anywhere as good as the description reads they have a returning customer .
  14. Yes, it's on my "to buy" list. Just have to wait for my next check to come through in a week..because all the shops pretty much charge shipping, I have to have a big enough order together to make it worthwhile.
  15. I've tried now three types of cartomizers over the last week, and wanted to give you a review of them. Kanger 808 Cartomizers (1.80 per piece) Pros: Cartomizer soft cap is super easy to remove, I need no needle or anything, can just pop it out with my fingers, which makes inbetween dripping a breeze. Cons: out of five that came with my set, two had a terrible burning undertone. Boge 808 Cartomizers (1.60 per piece) Pros: seem to be a little tighter filled than the Kanger's Cartomizers and seem to hold a few drops more.No dead ones so far in the 10 I ordered. Cons: I actually need some tool to remove the soft cap, which means I can't just easily redrip. I also have the feeling that I have to suck a bit stronger to get a nice hit, probably because its filled tighter. And the winner is: Ikenvape Mega Cartomizer (1.85 per piece) Pros: This is the Cartomizer for people who do not want to redrip all the time. This Cartomizer holds about 70 drops. I prepared it in the evening and used it the next morning to start vaping. Holy cow! This is my kind of cartomizer - set it and forget it. Cons: the soft cap is here also flush with the cartomizer so you need a tool to get in. However, as you don't have to refill as often, it does not matter as much. Edit: I smoke 50/50 juice, mainly clear, but also have one dark juice in the rotation, so the performance with other juice consistency might be different.
  16. I'm still a noob myself, but I researched the whole issue for about 4 weeks before diving in. You can always just buy the battery and prefilled cartomizers. Cartomizers are cartridges that have the heating coil built into them. Most of the commercial prefilled systems, like v2, or blue, work that way. Prefilled cartomizers, however, might sometimes come already half dry, because they might have been stocked for a while. And they only come in a limited selection of flavors. So, the next step is to buy an empty cartomizer, buy some e-juice, which is the liquid that goes inside there, and do it yourself. I was a bit hesitant first because I thought this will be quite a task to do. In my few days I have been doing this I must say its not at all a nuissance to me - it becomes more of a nice "ritual" that I do in happy anticipation of my next vape hit. The easiest way is to take out the mouthpiece and drip the liquid in the white filling material of the cartomizer. The advantage is: you are in control of the flavor, of the fill level (no dry cartomizer if you monitor how much you vape) and you save money, as a five pack of empty catomizers runs usually somewhere beteen 5.99-8.99$ and e-liquid for 30 ml about 10-15$ and 5 prefilled cartomizers run about 9.99-12.99$. Cartomizers, at some point, have to be tossed, though some people clean them and get more use out of them that way. I have been using one Cartomizer since I bought the system pretty much continually and it's still working fine. So, this is the 2-piece type of equipment, like the kr808. Then, there is the 3-piece type of equipment, where you have the battery, the atomizer, and then a cartridge/tank/clearomizer. That means the heating coil is outside of your tank. Again, from time to time you have to toss the part that holds the e-liquid, or "rebuild" it, that means some people put their own wick in the tank and reuse the tank - that's way too advanced for me though. And the atomizer needs to be replaced from time to time too. And even the battery is not forever, so at some point you have to buy a new one, just like your cellphone battery runs old, the e-cigarette battery does to. As to how long the batteries last, the indication for that is the mAh. Mine are 280, and they last me about a whole day, but I have only been a half a pack a day smoker before. The higher the Ampere-hour usually the bigger the battery gets as well. I am unfortunately not in Europe and have no idea what supplier could get you a decent starter kit, but maybe somebody else can chime in for that. I have the Kr-808D, but most people here prefer the 510 Ego, it seems. However, there are also adapter screws available, if you buy one system you are not "doomed" to stick to it forever .
  17. I bought my K-808 starter kit at Goodejuice.com for 35 bucks with two manual batteries, because I too wanted something that "feels" like a cigarette as far as it can. I augmented this set with the bloog automatic batteries, they have a sale right now ,20 bucks for four. I like the manual batteries because you can press the button and if you wait a second it produces more vapor than the automatic that only warm up when you suck on them. However, the automatic are much more convenient if you drive, for example. The also had a personal charger on sale at bloog, which is a good thing when you are not near a computer, so you don't run out of battery power. The V2 is also a 808, so its on the expensive side with 65 dollars. But you could use their cartos if you don't want to fill yourself - however, as has been said, prefilled ones are a bit hit and miss. I was a bit hesitant about filling myself, but I must say in the last 3 days I kind of figured it out (did everything from not enough juice to the juice dripping out of the carto, so it takes some fine tuning and some experience to estimate how much juice you vape out per personal use) and its super easy. I just have my little drip bottle with me, unhook the cap every couple of hours, put some ejuice in, and good to go again. And it will never taste dry. The batteries last me about a day of use before having to recharge - however, I was only a half a pack a day smoker before, so that might not be the typical use. They take about 4 hours to recharge. Hope this helps you a bit!
  18. bloog 4 auto batteries, personal charger, and some vanilla e-juice to try came in today. Woohoo...now I just need more empty cartos *lol*
  19. Thanks Mike, yes I knew about the topping off, the one carto I use currently I top off after every smoke break with a couple of drops. Those "burned ones" were two fresh cartos that I filled with 1 ml over the course of the morning, to take them to work with me, so I had them not on the battery before trying them when I went on break. With 1 ml they should have been "full" when I tried to smoke them at six on my "dinner break". I still have the burned smell in my nose...it's now 8:45 *lol*
  20. As a just new buyer of an 808 starter kit and having just found the Ikenvape mega cartomizer, I would highly appreciate if you could vote a sound "yes" http://polls.tw/ktb/r I hope this is allowed to post here...
  21. I just had the same problem with my horizontal coil cartomizers that came with my E-cig starter kit that were supposed to be from Kanger. 2 of the cartomizers were having no problem, those two though, although filled with 1 ml of ejuice each, both tasted just horrible burned, (not even getting any menthol flavor out). So I guess I'll just toss them? I'm just a bit miffed . Edit: second thought...had them in a carry case, where the cartomizers lay on the side, not with the coil down. Could that lead to burning? Do they have to sit "upright" for a while before using them?
  22. Yesterday my E-cigarette kit was finally here in the mail! I came home from work at 8:30 pm and went to work. 1. Unpack the goods. Realize that 3 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml of E-juice bottles are rather on the small side. 2. Unpack the E-cigarette set. Read the chinese-english manual. Realize that this manual ain't helping you. Decide to figure it out on your own. 3. Screw the battery into the charger. Wonder why the light is still blue though the battery should not be fully charged. Figure out after 10 minutes that you need to screw the battery tighter to actually get the red light and have it charging. 4. Realize you have two manual batteries. How did they work again? Watch 15 youtube videos about how to use manual batteries. 5. Decide to fill your first empty cartomizer. Get your blunt syringe ready for it, after having watched 3 youtube videos about syringe filling. Try to get the e-liquid to the 1 ml mark. Realize that you do something wrong because you can only pull up half a ml. Try to get that half ml in your cartomizer without punching holes in the filling. Get about half of the half ml in the cartomizer. Try to put the rest of the liquid back in the e-liquid bottle. Get a vacuum between the bottle and the needle, and when pulling the needle out, detach the needle and spray e-juice over your face, hands, and your cashmere pullover. Soak the pullover in cold water, wash hands and face, and decide to simply drip the rest of the liquid in. Clean cartomizer. 6. After the battery is fully charged, attach the cartomizer to the battery. Cartomizer has settled for about an hour and should be good without burning. Put e-cigarette to lips and realize you had some e-juice on the mouthpiece...eeew. Finally depress the manual button, and try to take a puff. Hm. small vapor. Play around a bit and realize pressing the button first, then waiting a second, and then puffing actually works better. Enjoy the taste of your first choice E-liquid, Nuport by Dekang. Realize it does not taste anything like Newports. 7. Have a fight with your husband because you are all cranky and in a weird mood but can't quite figure out why. Continue said moodswings throughout the day, though you vape as you would usually smoke. Realize late in the afternoon that the first e-liquid you chose had 0 nicotine in it....which explains the weird mood swings *facepalm*. 8. Fill a cartomizer with cool menthol e-liquid 12 mg and relax and enjoy .
  23. I was on the fence between this value ego-t and the 808. I went for the 808 because a) I like the look of cigarette, and I did not want to worry about buying three pieces, the two piece cigarette is for the moment what I will go for. But, I am reserving the right to upgrade to this kit at some time . The reason why it is cheap is because there is no big logo of any "brand" on it. All those egos get produced in China and some brands put their logo on and charge another 5-10 dollars just for that.
  24. Thanks! I scrutinized their website and simply could not find the "type" on there. So I guess I might just stock up on some...can't have enough batteries, right?
  25. I mean, four batteries for 20 bucks, that sounds like a steal. But, I have no idea what battery thread they are - 510s? 808s? Or something completely different? Does anybody know? Thanks, Sonja
