  1. I'd just like to take issue with whoever said the DSE905 and the Screwdriver are the same thing - they are not. They are made by different people - the DSE905 is mass-produced clone of the original with the button in a different place. (that's fine and I think it is probably good value but I don't think people should exploit the Screwdriver name) The original Mk1 Screwdriver (with an improved mechnical button) is current buy-one-get-one-free from http://www.ecigscrewdriver.com/
  2. Today, I'm vaping Libery Flights (Dekang) RY3 with a 901 atty on my Screwdriver Mk2 and OK Smokey Drum Double Flavour (a roll-your-own tobacco flavour) with a 510 atty on my Screwdriver Mk1
  3. I use 901 carts almost exclusively and I've never had the end come out - do you bite down hard on them or something?
  4. In response t questions about my Screwdriver Mk1. Yes it's a bottom button device - I've grown to prefer that format (hence me also ordering a Super 6) - I used either my pinkie or middle finger to use it. They are much smaller than people think. I have a small leather case for mine (from trog - he is supplying them free with each new SD order at the moment - I had to buy mine!) Having said that - I carry it loose sometimes in my shirt or top jacket pocket and it doesn't go off - I think it could easily go off if carried loose in a trouser pocket or similar where it might get squished though... As people have expressed interest, I'm working on an "atomiser review" comparing lots of different atomisers (which will go into my blog on Vapersplace). As part of this, I've taken some pictures of my Screwdriver (my Mk 1 as it happens, but it could equally well have been my Mk2, or any other 901 based mod) with a number of atomisers fitted, mostly using the 901-to-???? adapters that are now so readily available. I though people might like to see them: First my standard 901 Screwdriver with a TW 901 atomiser: The same SD with a TW 801 atomiser: Now with a regular TW Titan atomiser: And now with a 4081 "double cartridge" atomiser: And lastly with a 401 atomiser:
  5. I can recommend the the original Mk1 Screwdriver with confidence. I have one I bought in April 2009 and it's been totally reliable. I bought the 901 model, but have adapters for 510, 801, 401 and 4081. The Mk1 Screwdriver is still made to the same quality as ever but has had some improvements and is also now much cheaper. See: http://www.cavecom.com/screwdriver/shop/shopindex.htm (I also have a Mk2 Screwdriver from TW, and a Super 6 from Super T on order, but I think the Mk 1 SD is now great value for money)
  6. If you are looking for high quality (and sadly a high price) you should give the Super Six from Super T Manufacturing a serious look - I doubt there is a more carefully designed and well made device available...
  7. I started out as a smoker of regular strength "premium" brand cigs (for 30 years). For the last 10 years or so I smoked a UK Brand of "light" cig called Silk Cut. When I first started vaping (nearly a year ago) I tried 11mg juice, but have, after trying everything from 11mg to 38mg, settled on 18mg-24mg as the range that suits (mostly 24mg).
  8. The Mk2 Screwdriver button can unscrew itself which results in the device turning on in your pocket (or wherever) - If you check the button is screwed tight whenever you change your battery you won't have the problem. (Some people have put locktight or similar on the button threads to stop this, but since I realised it could happen and check it when I change the battery I had no problems)
  9. Allow me, as an Englishman, to interpret this piece (reading "between the lines"): Man gets drunk in pub Man has e-cig - staff and customers haven't seen one before. Customers say"Oi! He's smoking" Staff say "stop doing that!" Drunk man gets arsy - along lines of "It's a ****ing e-cig you tw*t" Staff are pissed off Staff call police Drunk is arsy to police Drunk is arrested
  10. I've reviewed a lot of tobacco flavours from Liberty Flights and ecis (both Dekang) and from OK Smokey, VaporStation, and others here: http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=16.0 and here: http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=17.0
  11. I say go for the Spade - I've never used one, but buying a device which uses "generic" batteries rather than one which means you are at the mercy of the manufacturer seems sensible. I'd also suggest you have a look at other pvs in the 3.7v market - many are not that big and the market has become much more competitive. (For example the Mk1 Screwdriver used to be really expensive but is now much cheaper and comes with a 510 atty option, the Little Chuck must be worth a look too?)
  12. Totally Wicked do 510 (Titan as they call it) Mega Batteries and Mega Carts (you have to use the two together). The carts hold getting on for twice as much. See here: http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/cartridges-refillable/mega-510-titan-electronic-cigarette-2-product.html http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/e-cig-accessories-510-titan/mega-510-titan-electronic-cigarette-3-2-product.html
  13. Yes the Titan is TW's branding of the 510. TW are doing "Mega" Titan attys and carts (big capacity) which might be worth a look - I though I'd get just a couple to try out...
  14. Liberty Flights do a "Clove Black" (what Dekang call Djarum Black) which is the clove cig flavour... I've reviewed it here: http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=553.0
  15. I've compared the 901, 801 and 510 atomisers here: http://www.vapersplace.com/profiles/blogs/comparing-901801510-atomisers
  16. If was was you I'd post on the TW forum about this, they do need to sort this sort of problem.... BUT If TW can't help though you could contact trog on the SD forum. trog has changed the SD Mk1 to use the same switches as the Mk2 that TW sell - trog must have parts, I'm sure he would help: post here: http://www.cavecom.com/screwdriver/home.htm
  17. The brass mouthpiece is an extra for drippers. You use normal plastic carts like the GG as standard. The button at the end works really well one-handed - you hold the device between thumb and index finger and press the button with your ring finger or pinkie. (That's how is use my Screwdriver) "Mods" come as end-button or side button - it's just a matter of personal preference - I actually find end-button more comfortable myself. Also - the SuperSix is MUCH smaller than the GG
  18. I use a (3.7-4.2v) Screwdriver, but have ordered a SuperSix from Super T Manufacturing. The SuperSix looks really sleek and is very versatile. Give it a once over - not cheap but high quality.
  19. The only 7v + mod I'm aware of is the GG See: http://www.vaporkings.com/The_Golden_Greek_s/79.htm I think you need special atomisers at that voltage. Personally I'm iffy about the effect of that sort of voltage on the juice.
  20. I vape about 2-3ml a day
  21. I believe people have done under-load test on "mod batteries" and come up with 4.2+v figures, but I will check...
  22. Don't get too hung up on the "5v" thing. Remember that the batteries used in 3.7v mods actually charge to 4.2v or more - and provide that sort of voltage for hours... (In other words they provide "freshly charged" normal e-cig performance for hours) Also have you decided which atomiser you like - that will be a big influence on ant decision?
  23. Regardless of which e-cig you go for, buy some juice for topping up and get at least three batteries and three atomisers - having spares is a must. As regards model, I'd recommend either a 510 or a 901. Personally, I think the 901 is a better starter e-cig - in my view it gives the best compromise between hit/vapour/flavour. Also the batteries last a bit longer between charges (unless you buy 510 mega batteries) and the carts don't tend to dry out at the top as much. Nevertheless both the 510 and 901 are fine first e-cigs. I'd also recommend (regardless of which model you go for) getting a manual battery as one of your spare batteries - you need to find out if you prefer auto or manual.
  24. The last Dead show I saw was in 1981 at the Finsbury Park Odeon in London
  25. I live in the UK. In the UK and rest of Europe socialist and communist parties are part of normal political scene. Let me assure you - I know what a communist looks like and Obama isn't one. Belief in "big government" is not a sign of communism, it's a sign of authoritarianism - which can exist across the whole "left-right" political spectrum (Fascists like big government, old style "Soviet" communists like big government, but there are left-wing libertarians as well as right-wing ones). Collectivism is not the same as big government either - anarchists favour collectives and they are certainly not in favour of big government... (So as you know, I'm a left-wing libertarian)
