555?

Why I never asked this here before now is beyond me...

Anyone have a good 555 recipe? Or any ideas what the likely components/proportions are?

I don't have any caramel yet but I think that is probably one part of it; I've tried toffee and butter rum as alternatives to caramel and they didn't quite cut it. Which nut flavor? I've tried pistachio and hazelnut, neither was quite right. Macadamia? Maybe. I wonder actually, how many component flavors there are in 555. It's a pretty complex vape.

Your ideas are most welcomed. Thanks!

I should also add that I'd be perfectly happy buying a bunch of just 555 flavoring; I'm not committed to mixing it myself; I just want to get the base nailed down and if I could buy it I'd be all over that...

Thanks Brian (still typing "Brain"), looks like DIY Flavorshack may be closed for a while but your suggestion got me googling. I found 555 flavoring at LiquidExpress, so I think I'll snag some of it there along with good ole Atomic Fireball and see how they are. Thanks for a good idea! Although I'm still going to try to recreate it as I get more flavors to try... Can't help myself; it's a sickness I think. :)

Yeah man, I think about that a lot. We're in the innovation stage, very immature industry. That's why so many attys and stuff give out too soon; just not fully developed yet. In a few years we'll be buying expensive but semi-permanent attys, small batts that last days, the works. It's gonna be great! Assuming we can still get juice... :)

I asked this question at ECF too (don't spank me!) and did get an interesting answer from user nicotime:

"I love 555 also. The mix I make for a 30ml bottle is as follows;

3ml of Lorann Peanut Butter

1ml of FlavorArts Virginia/Burley mix 50/50, or your favorite tobacco flavor

.1ml of Lorann Chocolate

.3ml of Lorann Caramel

1 drop of FlavorArts Peanut...which is RAW peanut flavor very potent...not required though.

Then add your PG/VG/PGA and unflavored Nicotine base mix to the top.

Mine is approx;

12.5ml of 60mg/ml unflavored Nicotine

10ml PG

2.5ml VG

.5ml PGA

Makes a nic level of 25%"

Further discussion centered around peanut butter being the nutty flavor for 555; that's something I'd never have thought of, and that's what I mean about mixing being more like baking than chemistry. To me anyway. :)

I'm going to give this a try as soon as I collect the additional flavors I need and will report back.

I don't have a good 555 recipie but I know who does........Vapor Kings

I have 3 of thier tobacco flavors and they are all excelent.

Sraight Virginia Flue Cure has the most realistic smoke taste I've tried yet, this would be a good flavor to add a drop of this and a drop of that to. The 555 tastes great to me but I don't know exactly what 555 should taste like.

I've been working on a HV version of the 555 recipe I posted from ECF here somewhere; it's getting there but still not 555. Totally vapable though, so I've been using it just fine. Brian also got me some 555 flavoring from Liquid Express that's pretty good. Unfortunately about the time all that was coming together I had to switch to fruit flavors for a while so I could taste the other again. I'm planning to try the 555 and Flue Cured this weekend, along with Brian's fave Mr Bean. I'll be glad to get back to some of the stuff I like the best. Fruit was good for a while but not really doing it for me these days. Vapor flavor is like an itch; once you start scratching it you chase it all over! :D

I hear ya ddave, on a few points. Fruit is nice once in a while but I'm chasing an itch too. I've bought assorted tobacco flavors from all over. The good thing is none will go to waste as they are all decent and can be mixed together in infinate combinations. I like the 555 I have now and I've had 555 from at least 2 other suppliers and I think there are differences. It's hard to tell because my taste buds are probably getting better and the second time around always seems to taste diffent even from the same store. Now that I have so many different ones I can notice subtle differences. I was wondering what store carries the 555 that you think tastes like 555? Or are they mostly all the same? I definately can tell the simularities of the 3 or 4 555's I went through but can't say for sure if they were alike cuz I never had all at the same time. My itch is somewhere around this flavor also.... and in other places. Now that I'm out of Midnight I feel like vaping strawberry champagne.

Hi Mike. My favorite 555 has come from My Freedom Smokes. I'm still trying to make some and it's slow going. I think I'll get there some day. The problem of course is that I have to make at least 3 ml of flavor just to balance proportions, and it would take a couple of weeks of vaping that one mix to use it up. So it's either throw it away (which I've done some) or just take my time. One thing about mixing only the flavor is it's not as expensive to throw away as if it had been mixed with nicotine, and that's become my practice. Sometimes I even vape the flavor with no nic, just for testing purposes, though nicotine does change it subtly when added.

Recently I made one I call 'peanut butter brownie' and it's been my all day vape for a while. Good stuff! Not quite perfect yet, but definitely one to work on.

Thanks for that info, Dave. I havn't had much time to play mixologist lately so I've been taking all of my store bought juices that I don't care much for and making them into something I do...or else chuck 'em. I did save a lot of juice by adding a little of this and that to better suit my taste. I broke down and bought a bunch of store bought juice and found some I really like. When I have the time I will try to create some of those flavors from scratch. Two flavors that compliment tobacco that I like are peanut and pecan and sometimes butterscotch. This is why I like 555 cuz of the peanuty taste. Work has really picked up around here and that's a good thing but can't wait to mix up some homemade again.

I have to say I agree with you on the Vapor Kings 555.

I have tried Stricklyejuice and vapornine and my first of course was Vapor Kings and is still my Favorite of all of them.

seemed to me the others were just not there. And YEAH for Me VK is like 2 hours from me and I get next day shipping ALWAYS!!!!

I have to say that is what I call PERFECT.

And have tried there regular Tobacco flavor and it is my favorite of any other I have tried as well...

Go Rob..his CS is great also.. :animier:

I have to say that the Cohiba from Sticklyejuice (24 nic) is growing on me. Might want to try it and see if you need it in your mix somehow.

Cheers

Nice cheerleading there thebat1! :) We can never have too many new vendors to try can we? I'll give VK a try myself; two good reviews in a row must be telling me something. I recently got resupplied of 555 from MFS, so it'll be a couple months, but they'll be my next try if they have it strong enough.
