He wants me to come in and talk to HR and fill out paper work and take a pee test...this Mon So I am hoping this pans out to be a good thing for this new year... Good luck bro!!!!!! Thanks I havent really worked for 7 months....actually 8.. I did some contractor work at a bingo parlor.. A very large one... They hired me as IT lead and gave me a great salary... I got that place up and going... I was to stay on full time and run the IT dept... So I worked from 14 to 18hrs a day 7 days a week... I ran over 55,000 feet of cat5e cable(more prolly I lost count) and I am not sure how much cat6 cable... I hooked up 3 T1 lines and 6 POTS....(plain old telephone service)... I install 12 servers and networked 5000 bingo machines to the network.. The whole time I had 3 of their employees helping me as I trained them to be my assistants(you can see where this is going now) Well I was updating computers in the offices when the owners boss called me on my cell and told me that a new vendor was putting in a server and he was in the server room waiting for me... Well I was walking across the gaming floor(still under construction) and I went to talk with vendor... then the General manager they just hired cam in and told me to follow him to his office... I did.... as soon as I got in he said "Do you know of the no cell phone policy on the gaming floor?" I told him yes once the center opened I heard that was the case.... He then said " Your services are no longer needed. Your Fired!" I told him of course I was talking to my and his boss and that that policy was not in effect yet ....he said he didn't care and had me escorted out....( now keep in mind it was still under construction and there had to be at least 30 people on Nextels and cell phones at the same time... So to sum that all up they used me to get their network up and to do the grunt work... And also train the guys to maintain it.. They were making $10hr.. I was making well over $25 )which is good in Alabama....probably min wage in CA) Sorry about the rant but it PO's me very badly... This job will not pay as much as that one but it will pay what I made when I was in IT @ Regions Bank...OOOOH.....I will save that rant for another post... Thanks for the support...But the down side is that I will be at work and wont be able to keep up with the forum during work hours.....Or can I? I think yer good to go ! You can fail drug tests from doing legal things too like eating poppy seeds for an example. Drug tests don't figure out how you got chemicals in you but what chemicals. I've heard that you can fail a drug test if your urine doesn't give normal results because people cheat by drinking things to flush the drugs out. To me it sounds like he is saying PG is used to flush out radioactive substances through your urine. What else could it be flushing out? If you get the kind of drug test that is more than just a cup that changes colors but done by a doctor in a lab I could see the possibility of that causing a problem because even if they find nothing illegal they may find things missing that should be there or things added that normally wouldn't and suspect that you tried to cheat the test. I had a drug test done in a lab and the doctor was able to tell me everything about my urine like my blood sugar for example. My point is that if PG effects your urine in a way that causes your urine to not be like everyone else's you could fail the test. Drug tests don't look for legal and illegal but normal and abnormal. The test isn't over until you fail to explain why you failed. Sometimes passing is just taking the test. I've known many people that know they failed but passed by just taking it. I took a test once and I passed just for taking it. I pissed in the cup, showed the cup to a lady in the office from far away, and then she said to go dump it out. She didn't even check it. Lots of things can show up--but they are looking for specific items (illegal drugs)--have to eat a whole lot of poppy seeds to trigger the test.
