VW APV help

Hi, all!  I'm looking for a new APV, VW, as the button my Zmax broke (evidently this is caused by overtightening the telescopic battery tube, and while I was careful at the beginning, I became not so careful and it's difficult to deal with, if not impossible), and I'm temporarily using my husband's mini-Provari until I can get a new mod.  First off, what is the deal with everything being box mods and/or 50 watts anymore????  I had another neurological incident (turns out MS lesions in the frontal lobe cause this) and can barely get over 5 watts on the Provari or my Zmax (when the button works) before it tastes burnt to me in Protank 2.  What kind of tanks/coils do they need to use, and how expensive are they (and more importantly, can they be single coil?)?  My sister JUST started vaping, and she's using an arctic tank with an istick 50w I think, cranked all the way to 50 watts.  Then again, she's got the owners of a vape shop practically providing her with tanks, juices, coils, etc., at the most they charge her what it costs them, and she thinks the world rises and sets with them (I really don't, and I don't like their shop).

So what I'm looking for - VW, must be sturdy (frankly, the lanyard I got for the Zmax that the mini Provari fits in (although it's a bit short and the fabric of the pouch covers up the fire button, so I just push the button through the fabric) has been a lifesaver and kept me from dropping it all the time.  My concern with a box mod, and this is why I don't go back to my MVP is the strain on my hands - first off, I'd have to be able to look at it in a local B&M and figure out if I could even operate it comfortably, but the trigger can't be as hard as the MVP (well, okay, I can use the MVP some days if I turn it and use my finger to activate the trigger, but sometime in the year that I stopped using it, for some reason it's not always reading coil resistance right.  Having the same problem with my VTR, but I REALLY can't use the VTR because of the triggering and cramping in my hands.  Basically, I'm looking for recommendations for good, variable wattage mod that starts at 5 watts (preferably - the 5 watts thing just started in the last 5 weeks, but I don't know if I'll be able to climb back above that benchmark, thank you MS, (lesions in that area screw with smell and taste - so it wasn't the seizures that screwed me up before like I thought, but the MS - which pushed the seizures to be more difficult to control), since it started in a flare, I may be able to regain some of it, and I may not.  But I know new juices that I started in the middle of the flare I can't taste as well now (which is why I started the new juices in the first place, I could barely taste my other juices).

But I'm getting off topic.  Variable wattage mods.  Is the Vamo still reliable and sturdy?  I seem to recall seeing the Tesla was discontinued.  Any other suggestions?

Okay, two quick things.  First, I'm not opposed to a box mod as long as it's easy on the hands.  Secondly, I did manage to find Tesla on sale at Stormy's, I'm not sure where else, though.

Did you try your sister's iStick 50W? It doesn't have to be set at 50W, in fact I'd recommend against it, especially for you. You can use any tank on it. It has a native 510 connection but comes with an eGo adapter. I've got a KPT 3 mini on an eGo adapter using a single 1.8 ohm KPT coil on one of my iStick 50W right now and it works just fine.

No, in fact I haven't even seen her.  She's been busy with the death of her ex husband - her son's father - and dealing with all his possessions and helping her son deal with estate and make final arrangements (no funeral services were held, it's a long, complicated story), and she just now got a chance to breathe.  But now I have one of those "Have I got a story to tell you," about how horrid landlords can be.

I noticed in the pictures that it's a box mod, but it looks like it's a finger trigger, like the VTR.  Is it heavy like the VTR, is it, um, what's the phrasing I'm looking for - how is it on the hands?

I love the rounded edges and it's not even half as heavy as my VTR, it's extremely light for a 4400 mAh battery. My IPV mini and IPV mini 2 are heavier than this.

What do you mean by finger trigger? They all need a finger to trigger it on.  :D  The button is very smooth and easy to press -- for me. Even when my arthritis is acting up, this doesn't bother it. Of course, YMMV.

Well, like MVP the trigger was right in the middle of the front, you almost have to trigger it with your thumb.  Is there, I don't know, more airflow that allows it to go up to a higher wattage level?  And about how long does it take to charge.  That's one of the things I hated about the MVP was having to use something else while it charged (I've got an ego twist, or I guess I could beg my SO to let me use the mini Provari for that purpose.  That's one thing I like about the devices that have replaceable batteries....but I certainly don't have any 4400 mAh batteries.

The button is on the "end" right below where the tank goes. Because the battery is 4400 mAh, it does take quite a few hours to charge, that's why you buy two.  :)

The link I gave you is for the iStick 50W only, it doesn't come with the charging cable, the AC adapter or the eGo adapter. If you want those, then you'll pay a little more.

I do business regularly with these two places and have always had good luck with their products and customer service.

A warning for you: some people have had issues with these iStick 50W auto-firing or not working right. I have five of them and so far, they've all worked well for me with no problems. In any case you will want to keep the contacts clean and immediately wipe away any juice that spills on it.

Just to get a view on other products - what about any other products, or the Vamo or Tesla?  Although I saw that Sweet Vapes had a silicone case for the istick, which would help for drops as long as I don't hit the tank.  But you can find some kind of case for almost anything.

I don't know how you would handle the size/weight of this suggestion, but the button press is very light on the Cloupor Mini.  They use 18650 batteries, and can be charged with micro-USB if needed.  The battery door is magnetic, so easy to remove/replace, and the battery holder is "snug", but still easy to install/remove the battery.  They weigh a tiny bit more than the iSticks (but are very durable because of it), but not has heavy as the Vamo or Provari, and I think they fit very well in your hand because they are small.  Their lowest setting is 7W, though, which may be too high for you?  But maybe not if you use a higher Ohm coil (like 2.0-2.4)?
