SES Posted May 15, 2014 Share Posted May 15, 2014 I'm almost 10 days quit using a vapor e cig. I've smoked cigarettes for almost 40 yrs so for me to go this long, it's wonderful! I've tried the Chantix, didn't work. I was hypnotized 11 years ago, worked for my husband but not for me. I had surgery 10 years ago and of course you couldn't smoke in the hospital, I was in 4 days, (and I was fine with that) but when I came home and could do what I wanted, I went back to smoking. I had such bad withdrawal when I was home. Headaches, nervousness, crying all the time, (like mourning a friend) and a lot of hostility! I didn't want to try the patch or gum, I am a little scared of them. My husband used to work with someone on the patch, that person smoked and died of a nicotine overdose. So no thanks to those 2! I've had my vapor e cig almost 1 year, but didn't use it until this past March, switching between that and reg cigarettes. Wasn't ready I guess. haha Then on May 6, 2014 I decided to try to do this, well IT WORKS! I do have the nicotine in my vapor, but I am going to lower the mg until I'm at zero. I have the hand to mouth thing which I guess is what gives me the feeling of smoking. I have had no withdrawals and if I am, they are very mild. I have heard that there are withdrawals with not smoking not just with nicotine, but with all the 4,000 and some chemicals inhaled in your lungs and of couse, no tar, and the tobacco itself. The vapor e cig is a lifesaver for me, if it wasn't for that, I'd still be puffing around 2 packs a day and spending $80 a week for them! So happy for the vapor e cig!! My husband and my son couldn't be more happier and proud of me for doing this and what's more I couldn't be more happier and proud of myself! I know about the haters out there saying you haven't quit yet, you're still getting nicotine blah, blah, blah. But everyone has to quit in their own way and this is my way and it's working!
