  1. The email I have for him is a little different than the one on his website oldgoat20@hotmail.com Don't know why you are getting the bounce, but this might help.
  2. Fairly new vaper...only about 6 weeks with my eGo vs. the Smoke 51 piece of crap that I started with, and the ego-T is my current primary device. I do, however, use the LR atomizer on the tank which absolutely improves flavor. In the 'great atty debate', these might be worth a look.
  3. I have a love/hate relationship with my eGo T! It is consistently my primary juice delivery device, but sometimes it works much better than others. I do use an LR atomizer which certainly helps, but wicking too much or too little is a constant battle. There is a video on youtube from the folks at cignot that explains how the wick can/should be adjusted for best performance. I have watched it several times, but have yet to mess with my wick to see if I can improve overall performance. I hate to have to mess with stuff to get it to work properly...I prefer to open the box and use, but I am quickly learning that this is not always the case with vaping gear. I will eventually mess with the wicks because the current atty worked like a champ out of the box (smooth easy hit, no leaking, tons of flavor and vapor) but its performance has now diminished. In the video she talks about the potential that inserting and removing tanks can affect wick position, so I assume that is what happened with mine. I will mess with it soon and report. I am just nervous since I don't have a handy bone in my body and I fear messing it up even worse!
  4. Definitely a step in the right direction, but oh what a long and winding journey it will probably be. IMHO this will probably affect juice more than the hardware. If suppliers simply sell batteries, atomizers, and cartridges as separate pieces, couldn't that circumvent the e-cig designation? Juice I certainly see as becoming hugely regulated (and thus more expensive) but hopefully many suppliers can ride out the storm. I also forsee the day the 'juice underground' will arrive as an under the radar trading post for smaller suppliers. Just my thoughts, but at least we should be able to continue to get our vape on!
  5. Congratulations on picking up an Ego and dropping the analogs again! I am fairly new, but have been very satisfied with the performance of my Ego and Riva. I am currently using the T-tank system which is pretty nice with the LR atties, but still a little too labor intensive. I am considering either the new B type T-tank, or some type of a bottom feeder mod. I am looking for the whole 'fill it and forget it' type system where I don't have a lot of prep work for my daily vape. I have not had an analog since my slip the other week and vaping is definitely the way to go from here on out! Best of luck to you staying off for good this time as well.
  6. So I was doing some surfing today (should have been working but....) and came across two Youtube videos that I felt worth sharing. The first got me angry, upset, and concerned about the misinformation that continues to be published about ecigs. Shame on the BBC - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWizH6ZYvtA The second was a power point presentation (with no voice over) that found me pausing it quite regularly to read all the documents that the poster had dug up to share. Pretty convincing positive spin on ecig usage. I will be interested to see the comments all of you have on these two clips. I see by the 'friends' list that Dr. Vapor and Grimmgreen have already stumbled across this video as well....I guess they are on top of it!
  7. I have been watching and waiting for her website to come online so I could potentially order one of these tanks, since I have heard good things about them. She was hoping to have the site open over the weekend, but it appears it is not yet functional. I will keep watching stormysvaporcellar.com and hopefully it will be up soon.
  8. When you pick up a new tank atty, I would highly recomend the LR version. World of difference! I think Goodprophets has the LR tank atties on sale for $9.99 right now. I love my tank with the LR atty! Good luck.
  9. 5 Days and counting! Great job! Have you heard back from Liberty yet. I find that emails generally take a day or two to be returned, but a phone call will get you immediate satisfaction. I had the Riva kit and 13 days after purchase both batteries just died! (Luckily I had a friend with a spare battery) I called them up and two replacements were in the mail that day and when they arrived they had a pre-paid return postage label. Now that's service!!
  10. Does not matter to most folks, since their online store is still up and running strong, but no more retail storefront. Darn, just when I was about to make the 1 hour trip to check it out! Gotta give props to Rob though, apparently things were going very well with the retail store and demanding too much time away from his internet clients and his family. He needed to make a change. I guess this explains why he is so good at customer service...what a down to earth and centered guy! According to his recent post (elsewhere) "We are lowering our prices, putting on more sales, and going to become a Super GP" All the best to him and his family. Rumor has it that a new Central PA retail store will be opening in York soon (BlueMist) we shall see.

    P.s.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken, but since the 510 and the eGo have the same 510 connection, the charger would work for both BUT....if you order an eGo kit, it comes with a 'power charger' (or something like that) and it warns you not to charge your standard 510 batteries on it or they could get overloaded and fail. I would imagine that you could use your standard 510 charger to charge the eGo, but it would take longer. I went down the same road as you..bought the Smoke 51 duo kit ($80) and soon found not enough battery life or options. My next stop was here to learn more, then Liberty Flights where I bought a Riva starter kit. Very similiar to the eGo (IMHO a little better than the standard eGo) but only about $40 for the kit. I have since acquired an eGo T-tank system with two 1000mah batteries. I love the tanks, but still prefer the Riva batteries for performance, size, and the button. I now have 4 batteries and two chargers total. You will see a common theme on here of backups, backups, backups. I am not quite fully backed up for the most dire of emergencies, but on my way! I consider the initial investment in the Smoke 51 lost (now sits on a shelf) but just that; an investment in my health as it is the unit that originally got me to quit. Good Luck and welcome to Vapor Talk!
  12. Hi, my name is Dave and I fell off the wagon yesterday. I have been analog free for a little over 2 months and vaping 11mg - 16mg liquid. Yesterday was an extremely stressful day and I just couldn't get the needed 'calm' from my PV so I stopped and bought a pack of analogs Now that I have them, it is just so DAMN easy to smoke them...hmmm a lighter and a cig....no filling tanks, no dripping hassle, just whip it out and instant gratification (DEATH)! I will probably keep them around and finish up the darn pack (since I am inherently cheap) but the good news is that I have only smoked less than 1/2 the pack in 30+ hours (previously 1 1/2 packs a day). I have been vaping most of the day both days, but still whipping out an analog for convenience. But, I have vowed that I WILL NO LONGER BE A SMOKER! I have now acquired some 24mg pre-filled cartomizers from a friend for whom they were too strong just to have around when another such stress filled emergency arrives. I am now prepared for the bad days as well as the normal. Please don't tell me I have to reset my smoke free counter...I was so proud
  13. Not sure if this is the proper placement for this topic, but I am sure Chris will move it if it needs moved! Okay, so I am a fairly new vaper and I got started with one of the overpriced Smoke 51 products from my local tobacco store. (80 bucks for crappy battery life and is now not compatible with anything else out there!) I have now moved on to a Riva and an Ego T-tank kit that I won at Vapefest. Whew..now just gotta figure out my juice(s) of choice! Anyway...I have been talking to the owner of the local store about how much cheaper, more efficient, and interchangeable different brands are (as opposed to the Smoke 51 that he sells) and trying to talk him into branching out to a more complete range of product options. He seems interested, but is of the strong opinion that he cannot sell Eliquid in his store since it is 'not FDA approved' and he can't see selling the better models if folks can't buy the liquid there as well. While it is his business, and ultimately his decision, I was curious if there are any vendors on here that have retail locations that can address this question. I am in Pennsylvania, and I know there is one retail store about an hour from here (Goodprophets). I have not called them to check about this, but I am interested in any opinions that may come from folks on the forum. To come totally clean, I made some great wholesale contacts at Vapefest and I am trying to encourage him to branch out so that I can potentially help him on a wholesale level and make some extra cash (to support my new habit). Thanks in advance for the input.
  14. So I did go see my family doctor. He was very supportive of the fact that I have now found a way to kick the analog habit. He did not know anything about ecigs, but absolutely agrees that they are better than smoking. He did a basic checkup and said the lungs sounded good. He thought too that the morning hack might just be my body still trying to clean out the crap. He said that if it persisted for too long to come back and see him again. It's really weird, I actually voluntarily scheduled myself for a full physical next month just to 'see'. I have suddenly become more health conscious with my 43 year old body. I guess now that I am no longer resigned to killing myself slowly with cigarettes, I figured I should pay more attention!
  15. I will be a gentleman and not ask what those 'never tried' things are!
  16. If you do have the USB charger, look at a store like 'Five Below', they usually sell the car power adapters with a USB input.
  17. Plus one for being community minded! What a great group!
  18. So Funny! I get similar crap from my wife even though I am no longer smoking..."Don't use that thing in the house....You are always sucking on that thing!" (Kinda sucks since she is also my boss and won't let me vape at my desk at work...oh well I always liked my smoke breaks!) Also, almost every one of my posts is edited too...when I find that little typo I can't stand it!
  19. Okay... I have been using the tank as my primary vaping mechanism for about a week and 1/2 and here are my further observations. I agree that high PG concentration is a must. I have some vaporrenu 60/40 that won't even come out of the tank....too thick. My 80/20 seems to feed fine though....maybe too fine. As everyone seems to indicate, lots of juice getting to the atty. This led me to my earlier comment about vaping 1/2 tank, then removing the tank and vaping 20-30 hits with just a mouth piece and no tank. While yes, not lots of flavor this way, it keeps the atty from totally flooding and eventually leaking. I vape until it dries out (slight burnt taste) then snap the tank back on and complete the tank. Since I am pretty much a low maintenance guy, this seems to suit me better than having to constantly clean, blow out, or fuss with atties. By basically vaping the atty dry, it stays unclogged and burning well. (Again, I use the LR atty.) I also find that since lots of juice is fed to the atty then you lay the unit on its side (what...put it down...yes while I am working) that the juice tends to leech into the air slots and collect around the top of the mouthpiece. If your not paying attention, juice in the mouth! One question I do have is that based on previous advice I had seen, when I filled the tank the first time, I removed the little plastic circle that was popped in on first use. Is everyone else removing this, or is this perhaps part of my problem with too much juice?
  20. A GREAT customer service experience! I am a relatively new vaper and just changed from a crappy mall type Smoke 51 to a Riva 510. My new Riva arrived March 16th (within 3 days of my order from Liberty Flights). Late this Tuesday evening, both batteries crapped out! Different symptoms, but both stopped working. (luckily I had talked a friend into ordering one too and he hooked me up with his spare battery so I didn't have to buy analogs) I dropped a late night email off to them, and when I had not heard anything by their lunch time on Wednesday I gave them a call. I talked to Jacob and explained my plight. He was very helpful and professional and indicated he would ship out two new batteries right away. They arrived today (East Coast) and included was a pre-paid return sticker for sending the old ones back. BRAVO! And thanks for keeping me away from the analogs! (Now I know...backups, backups, backups!) Dave
  21. Okay, some frustration here. I am just hitting the 60 day mark and VERY happy that I am no longer sucking on analogs. Within the last week or so, however, I have found the morning hack returning. I have made no significant changes to my juice, frequency, or overall habits (with the exception of using a T-tank instead of direct dripping) and this is driving me nuts. It does not happen every morning, but when it does, it is just like I was still smoking...hack...choke...cough s**t up, etc. I think I remember reading somewhere in the past that this is just my body still trying to clear the crap, but it has me concerned. There are other times where I get a lung 'tightness' and semi-shortness of breath, but that seems to be random and pass rather quickly, but this issue is driving me nuts! I have set up an appointment with my family doctor to discuss the whole vaping issue and will be sure to bring this issue up (he is very forward thinking, so I am hoping it goes well) but I wanted to ask the community if anyone else has experienced something similar. All input, information, and suggestions are appreciated.
  22. Good Luck with finding your perfect vape! If you are like most of us, it will be a trial and error process...reading, trying new things, buying more supplies....reading more, buying more new toys, etc. I am now about 60 days in and have spend around $300 in equiptment and sample juices (luckily I won an Ego T-tank Kit at Vapefest so I didn't have to buy that) but things have settled down for me at the moment. Now that I have a system that I like and have found some favorite juices my hope is that my next $50 juice order should have me set for the next 3 months or so....unless I read about some new toy I just gotta try!
  23. As a relatively new vaper, I am also still trying to find my perfect vape. I was at Philly Vapefest last weekend and someone talked me into buying the Giantomizers (hmmm...just before the manufacturer acknowledged they 'sucked' and stopped making them) but I was also fortunate enough to win an Ego T-tank system in the raffle. While I agree it is not yet perfect, it is better than the Giantomizer (I have 3 unused ones...anyone interested?). After reading this thread, I am liking the tank a little better. Based on the advice here, I tend to vape about 1/2 a tank then put a blank cartridge on and vape for 20 - 30 hits just off the juice sitting in the atty. I then snap the tank back on, vape the other half (being careful not to try to vape the tank dry or that last hit pulls juice into my mouth) then repeat. While I agree this is not the perfect system, it seems to be working for now and produces a nice vapor and keeps the unit from leaking. I got TONS of juice samples at Vapefest and am still experimenting, but other than the fried apple from Top Vapor, I haven't found any that I like as much as my original ones I ordered from Vaporrenu. Could just be that I am used to them, but still my favorites. I am running a LR atomizer with the tank which I think makes a big difference. I generally fill 3 or 4 tanks each night and in combination with some occassional dripping in my reserve unit, this seems to get me most of the way through the day. This was my goal from the start; what can I prep the night before and be set for the following day? The one issue that I would appreciate some input on, however is this - once a tank is punctured for the first time, you now have an open hole in the tank and once you refill them, even if you put the condom back on tight, they have a tendency to leak once filled...not all the time, but what a bummer to open the case and find an empty tank and a sticky case!
  24. It is this Friday and Saturday. I am taking a 1/2 day on Friday and heading down, then heading home round noon on Saturday. I am already making my list of what I want to get and looking forward to seeing a hotel full of vapers and how other guests react. I understand they are expecting 300+ folks, so it should be lots of fun!
