  1. That's cool! I guess I need to clarify. I am in my car 80 percent of the day at least. So the AC is going. When I get hung up in a customer's for a long while it can be hot. When I am at the house or office, I bring it in with me. What amazes me is how little heat it takes to discolor it. I also noticed that as my juice ages it turns darker, but also seems to taste better. My all day vape I buy 3 flavors 30ml each then mix them into a 120 ml container. I then put about 15 or so in a small bottle to carry. This only lasts for about 2 weeks.

  2. I have already rewicked it. I didn't take a picture. It was similar to the way that Rip Trippers did it in the video above. I just pushed the rayon through the coil until it touched the bottom below the coil, then looped it over the screw on top and into the other coil. It really didn't work as good as I have it now which is about a 16th of an inch sticking up through the coil and the tail in the drip well. I think the airflow is better with the vertical coil. I was going to try to do the quad coil, but I don't have the time tonight.

The pictures are deceptive. The front of the coil looks pretty good. There are gaps in the back. I can't get my larger tweezers in to compress them. The coil away from the camera doesn't look quite as good. I tend to run out of patience and want to try it.

  3. Are you using the macro setting on your digital camera?

Yes, but I think I am not patient, or steady enough. It has also turned out to be a kinda cheap camera. I loaned my good one to my daughter for their family vacation last year, and never got it back. I have learned with the kids, if they have something of yours over 24 hours, it is now theirs!

  4. I also carry mine in the car. It has been near 100 degrees outside. I only carry a small backup bottle plus what is in my tank. I don't know what is going on chemically, but when I get home the juice is a little darker in color than the bottle I originally poured it out of.

I have started using an insulated pouch from my wife's Humera it seems to help shield some of the heat.

  5. I like it so far. I wicked it over the top of the screws and left tails in the drip wells. I think it cut my airflow. I do like that i don't get any splatter off of it and it is not an extremely hot vape. I can't find my narrow tweezers so I can't get the coils as pretty as I would like. I am also going to rewick and run it just in the drip wells and see how it works.

I don't know why I can't seem to take a good picture either! I have tried my iphone4 and my bigger digital. Neither is doing a good job!

  6. @christov11 - I agree. So far it seems like no matter how many posts I read or videos I watch the only way I learn is to screw them up and try again! I have used quite a bit of Kanthal! I will try again this evening after work. It seems like the TOBH has a unique set of challenges, but I guess they all do!

@Compenstine - Thanks! I noticed that gap in the pictures. It was more visible in the pictures than in real life. I dry burned it after i took the picture and it tightened up a bit. I may recoil tonight and try to get it a little more uniform. When I rewicked I did use a tad less and it seemed to work good. PS - I can't wait until the new flavor is ready (the one from the renaming contest) I have been drooling from the description!

@Raptor Vaper - That explains a lot! I think I was getting quite a bit on my coils and getting hot juice in my mouth. The newest juice does not taste as bad as my normal juice when it gets in your mouth, but it is still not good.

Thanks for all of the help. I am sure I will have new questions tonight!

  7. Thanks. I will try that. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about. I am coiling it close to one side to avoid the tab in the center. I position the air hole right in front of the coil and there is no wick below it. I am not sure this is right. It is working pretty well, but I have nothing to go by.

Please don't make fun of my terrible pictures and poorly wrapped coils...lol

  8. I didn't want to hijack the other thread about coil diameter, because my questions are similar, but different.

I am building with 26ga Kanthal. I have been using a 3.1mm pin to wrap on. It is just under 1/8". Is this too big? I am using 6 wraps (dual coils/parallel) and compressing them. I am coming up with .45ohms or so. It heats fast and even.

My main concern is wicking. I have been using both organic cotton and rayon. Rayon seems to work the best for me up to this point. I am using just enough to cause pretty good resistance when sliding it through the coil. I am building on a tobh (the small one). I am cutting it very near the coil on the side near the top cap and leaving enough to fill the drip well on the opposite side. There is no wicking material under the coil itself. Is this correct? How do I know if I am swamping the coil or if it is wicking correctly? I have the air holes directly in front of the coils (well as close as you can get it on a TOBH)

  9. Welcome Marlena!

I have only been vaping a few months. I have quite a few partial bottles and I just vape mine when I get low. I also mix them to make different flavors. I have thought of Paying It Forward, but I don't know how a new vapor will feel about getting partial bottles. It does seem like a waste. I am looking next to me in my tray and I have close to 300ml of flavors I don't use. I guess if times get hard, I will always have it. I am sure there is a time when they will not be any good and I will have to throw them out.

  10. I use a nautilus which is supposed to be a 5ml tank. I usually use between 4 - 6 ml a day in it. I seem to have a little flooding if I let mine get below the 2ml mark. I am super lazy and I just top it off. I have never had any trouble. I do vape it down to near empty on the weekend. I dump the tank, change coils, and wash. I usually drop my coil in a cup of vodka and let it set overnight. The next morning I rinse it out and let it air dry until next weeks change. I vape the same flavor in the tank so I don't have to worry about changing flavors. I usually use the coils 2 times and toss them in a spares box (approxamately 2 weeks with 1 cleaning)

  11. Thanks everyone! I kinda ended up doing a little of everything y'all suggested. I came out with 90 ml. of my All Day Vape, and 5 new flavors. They are all 20PG/80VG 9mg. Out of the 5 I think 2 are going to work, possibly 3. I really can't describe them, but the ones I am enjoying on it are cream-ish flavors and one is a citrus/cream.

I think I have a favorite for now. It is called Easter Island. It is good enough I am enjoying it quite a bit. Now that I am enjoying the flavor, I can focus on the coils and wicking.

  12. I am getting ready to head to the vape shop. I have got to find a flavor for my dripper.

I built a .6ohm dual coil setup last night on my TOBH. I really like the amount of vapor, and the quality of the vapor. I just can not find anything I like the taste of. I normally do fruit flavors and even tried tobacco flavors but I made myself sick trying them all last night. Drip, Vape, Rewick, Repeat...

I have never done, the coffee, or cream flavors, so I am thinking about them. I can't do peanut butter flavors because it seems to stick in my sinuses and I taste it all day.

I don't know where to start. I am also going to pick up some VG to cut some of them and maybe that will help.

    My juices are all 50/50, 60/40,24mg & 18mg. I need something a little weaker.

I understand that taste is subjective, but I am getting desperate!

  13. Yes beer at Wal-Mart. It is a good thing! I am really not a big drinker anymore. I do enjoy it from time to time.

I understand on not wanting to fix things. I do enjoy tinkering, but hate when I have to do it. (Like fix the lawnmower) I totally am with you on the tank thing though. It is just so easy. I fill my nautilus in the morning jump in the car and go. I hated when all I had was a KPT2 mini and I had to fill it twice a day because if it got low it would leak. (I could flood a desert, some tanks I just can't make work)

I am an extremely nervous person, borderline ADD. I have to be busy, I can't turn off my brain. If I didn't have this stuff in the evenings to relax and take my mind off of life, i would be working. I have learned to turn it off a bit over the weekend, but not as well as I should.

Congratulations on nearly 500 days...that is epic!

  14. I guess it's a 44 year old thing. I turned 44. I still go to the bars for metal shows occasionally, but that's about it.

I work on the road 5 days a week, and my wife 3-5 days. We really cherish our "home time". Kids are grownish.

My vaping is mostly to keep from smoking, except in the evenings. Thats my time to relax with a drink and taste some juice. It reminds me of the the cigar in the evening.

Sorry for the total thread hijack and rant!

  15. I totally understand what you're saying.

I don't want to give the wrong impression. I really like the rebuildables. I have not found anything I like to vape in them. It is kind of like if I want a beer, I go to the liquor store and grab some (or Walmart), I don't go to the bar. I guess the social end of things is good, it just isn't my thing.

  16. To be honest, I am growing increasingly weary of the B&M's. I feel like most in my area are promoting the anti-social, rebellious aspects of the hobby. I am a long time headbanger so I am comfortable with the people, I just don't have time to wade through the masses of young cloud chasers to get the products that keep me from smoking analogs.

Sorry for the mini rant. I have no problem with cloud chasing, or young people. I know the local shops have to follow the money. I just want to get in and get out. That is why I want to find what I need from the internet. It is just easier for me.

I guess I am getting old and grouchy!

  17. That would be ideal. I will look into it. I have seen others in there with their setups, but never really paid attention. I have sat in there and vaped on the little iclear's until i was dizzy. I don't have a clue how many flavors they have but the endless trays of clero's they carry around is amazing.

I would be curious to know if I wicked it very short, would it make it easier to change flavors? I don't want to load it up and have to wade through too many overlapping flavors.

I drive so much, I don't think I will every get away from tanks and their convenience. (of course i have been wrong before) I do enjoy dripping at the house/hotel.

  18. I may run into the local shop Saturday. They keep all of the sample flavors in little Iclear16's. I like that about them, because it is a good little dual coil tank. I have never seen just bottles sitting around that you can drip whild you sit there. They just opened a new location and it may be different. I will have to check it out.

I think the kayfun's look great. I definately want one. I just wish I could find a flavor that will work in them.

It is so strange. I love my flavors in the Nautilus, both with the BDC and BVC coils. BVC has a little better flavor, but I can't keep them from flooding. I went back to the BDC for my daily setup. BVC in my backup.
