  1. I totally get both of you on both things! I understand the certain flavors in certain mods. I kinda did it when I ran a bunch of different tanks and flavors. I finally got tired of it and just mixed my 3 favorite flavors and dumped it in one tank. As for the ink. I am totally obsessed. I follow many artists on twitter. I watch all of the shows. I can critique any tattoo done by anyone and can see influences, styles, etc. That being said I have none. My wife has a few but I don't. She really gives me a hard time about it. I don't have a fear/pain issue. (in fact I kinda enjoy it) It is more of a trust/commitment issue...lol
  2. All I can say is wow. I really like the looks of that! Here is a link to the original: http://www.grandv...sub-ohm-innovations.html I have too many things in front of it to buy right now, so even the clone is on the back burner. The video is impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11rSKTBLrdQ
  3. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 28 years. I was quickly approaching 3 packs a day. It took switching to a higher nicotine 12mg to 24 mg and changing flavor profiles from tobacco to fruit flavors, and drinking a lot of water! I weaned off analogs in about a month. I think I had actually not smoked in about a week when I smoked the last one. I agree with eL Cruz. As long as I had them around, I would smoke them. (no matter how bad they tasted!)
  4. It is a shame. I know that quality employees can be hard to find. I have been amazed at the employees that work at one of my local B&M's. I have had 2 in the last couple of months that have totally explained the "proper" way to use a VV/VW box, and their explanations were incorrect. Both were using mods, but had a total misunderstanding how ohms law works. Of course I don't go to them for proper use and build advice, but many do. I have mentioned this to the manager (who is very knowledgeable) but she said it just will not sink in.
  5. I have read quite a bit about this on some other boards, I really don't remember where. The ones I was reading about was talking about running batteries in marked pairs and rotating the position in the mod frequently, also discarding them after they reach a certain percentage of difference in voltage between the two batteries...and on and on.... I don't really understand it. I would lots rather run a box mod with electronics than to go through all of that trouble. It sounds very inconvenient.
  6. Welcome to Vapor Talk! I am not familiar with your mod, but from the pictures it appears the magnets are broke. There should be 2 magnets in the button that repel each other to keep the in the non-firing position unless you are pressing the button. There should be someone along soon with much more experience than I have that can help you.
  7. Great advice! This is what I tried to do. I did twist off and get an ohm meter, good batteries, some kanthal, a couple of TOBH clones, and a very cheap mod. I actually only paid $50 or so for all of it out of pocket because I had an amazon gift card. This stuff was more for the hobby end of things. I don't need the RDA to keep from smoking. I have my Nautilus and MPV for that. It is plenty. I do enjoy dripping, but it uses so much juice and it is not as easy as the tanks, so I use it more for a pleasure activity. The juice hunt can be much more expensive in my opinion. I am finding that juice varies, as much as peoples opinions. Some juice that I love, others hate, and vice versa!
  8. As with anything, tastes are so personal. I searched for a good Red flavor and never found one that suited me. On the suggestion of a great lady at the vape shop I totally got away from tobacco flavors. She jumped me up to 24mg/ml on some great fruit/drink flavors. It was just the kick I needed to stop tobacco. I accidentally ordered a juice the other day that has a hint of tobacco and it tasted terrible. This is such a strange thing since I loved my smokes! After smoking for 28 years at 2+ packs a day, I now can't stand the tobacco flavors! Like I said, this worked for me. It may not help you, but I just thought I would throw it out there! Good Luck with your journey!
  9. I only live there on the weekends...lol I'm a salesman (the term is used very loosely) and I spend most of my nights in Abilene, Borger, and Wichita Falls. I spend most of my days chasing oilfield/ag suppliers/manufacturers.
  10. Howdy neighbor, I live near Lubbock, TX, but I work the Panhandle of Texas, East to Gainsville, with the OK border as my boundry. Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  11. I have taken apart a few Nautilus (BDC) heads and they are so tiny. I may try one some day. I just don't have the patience for it right now. It is nearly worth the money to buy them even though I am sure it would be better if I made them. I may resurrect some one of my old Kanger's and try it out. I may just order both, they are not that expensive and I would only have to pay one shipping, that way I am ready for anything!
  12. I just started dripping, but I am definitely a tank guy! I think with the dependability of the newer (better) tanks, there is just so much less to go wrong. I don't have to ask nearly as many questions, I just fill 'er up and go! I run tanks all day in the car. I drive an average of 5000 miles a month. I can't do that and drip. There are already too many distractions with texts/emails/phone calls, and other stupid drivers out there! (I am including myself in that group)(I don't text/email and drive, but I get as many as 100 a day of each and I do read them, which is probably just as bad) I think the mechanicals, and drippers has just became more of a hobby for me, not really to keep me from smoking. I do enjoy the richer flavors and thick vapor from the dripper, it just to me is an evening habit that is much like a drink and a cigar.
  13. Welcome to Vapor Talk! Sounds like you have some good tools to start out with! Good Luck!
  14. I am planning to get a spool of 24gauge round. I saw where you posted that you use .9 ribbon (in the picture above) and .5 ribbon for Kanger coils. I don't rebuild my Kanger coils (i uses Nautilus now), I will only be using in RDAs What do you recommend to start out with? Dang memories! I used to love the cheap drugstore balsa wood airplanes! The kind that had the hook on back and the plastic piece that held the propeller on front. The main wing slid through the solid balsa wood fuselage. You would twist them forever for a 2 second flight (crash) I wonder if they even make them anymore?
  15. I have only tried the dual coil - parallel (2 strands) with the 28 and 30 gauge. I can't do much with the 30 gauge, it is just too thin. I do fine with the 28 though. I just cant make successful parallel coils. My go to is still the 6-7 wraps of 26g around a 3.4mm pin, dual, vertical coil. I have been working on part# nomenclature for our computer system all week (at night) and it has me thinking we need a shorthand for coils that would be easier to type... something like: 6/26/3.4mmDVC Sorry my brain is fried from excel! I have not tried twisted/tiger or anything too crazy yet. I did make a dual parallel vertical, but it was way too low of ohms, and I didn't like it.
  16. That twisted flat looks good. I have a spool of 28ga I really don't do anything with. I guess I need to order some flat. I have just about accepted the fact I can't build an untwisted (parallel) coil. It looks like it was built by a very unskilled 3rd grader. (No offense to third graders!) It seems like the Tiger would have much more surface area, but I don't know how it compares in ohms. How does it compare to my dual coil 7 wrap of 26 gauge on a 3.4 mm pin compare. In other words is is more or less ohms/ft than a 26 gauge. I would assume less ohms/per foot because it seems like there is much more conductor there. Am I looking at it right?
  17. That is a good deal. I used to use a ET-S as my backup. It is a good little tank! I just paid it forward last week with a 5 pack of coils.
  18. I have also seen this brand in convenience stores, and at some discount tobacco places. I will be at one next week and I will ask the owner if he has any details on it. I really don't buy any juice from this guy since most of his main line seems to be imported, but he has had some good deals on aspire products. I really just stop by and give him a little business because it is where I bought my first "real" vape setup. (It lasted 3 days before it broke) As for the safety. I guess we really don't know for sure that any of this is safe. I do know that I was smoking over 2 packs and sometimes 3 packs a day when I started. I don't smoke them any more. I feel better, I don't have as bad of allergy/respiratory problems, and I smell much better. So I feel it is a much better alternative!
