  1. I just replaced a glass tank with a stainless one, and the stainless vs see through was a concern for me as well but honestly it didn't bother me. I usually have an idea of approximately what's in there and how long it will last. If its a really big concern for you, I was thinking you could experiment by covering the glass tank with something opaque and seeing if it was a deal breaker, of course it will seem worse than it would be once you adjust to it, but it will give you an overall idea if it can be overcome. Sweet-vapes seems to have the glass ones, you can double check with them if they're in stock. I ordered several things from them last week and they were fast packing and shipping my order and I received it quicker than i thought was possible. Like I ordered on a Monday afternoon and it was in the mailbox wednesday evening. That's an example, i know the time is right but the days might have been different, like Tuesday/Thursday etc. http://www.sweet-vapes.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=2959&category_id=98&vmcchk=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=84
  2. If you post a little more about your setup people might can give some more specific advice. I started building last night, I used silica wick and it was a pain and tasted funny, used organic cotton balls and it was sooooo much better, I mean WAY better. Also, the drill bit is a great idea, I had to build for pretty high ohms because I'm using an MVP 2.0 VV/VW. Something else I found helpful is when you wrap your coils, leave the drillbit or whatever you use through the middle while you place the wires in or around the posts, this helps keep the coil straight and tight while you "finagle" the wires into place, and if you're using cotton from cotton balls for the wicks its easy to pull out the drill bit and then put the cotton through the coil. With cotton make sure you thoroughly prime the wicks before firing it, because if it fires with a dry spot it goes "poof" Good really small needle nose pliars help, and blunt nose wire cutters or fingernail clippers.
  3. Fat Daddy's I think was the name of the place i ran across last night, I'll go check. It's the guy who carries vaping donuts ( I think they're fat daddys donuts but if i'm wrong about one, it will apply to both.) Harbor Freight sells boxes of assorted o-rings cheap, they're in those plastic compartmentalized cases that look kind of like tackle boxes, there's probably 10 or 12 different sizes in a box. The name of the site is FatDaddyVapes. Since I don't know the policy on posting links, you're going to have to google it.
  4. I actually just went through the same questioning/learning process. I got three of them actually, one was gifted to me by a friend and the other two I purchased and received yesterday. I bought a Patriot Clone and the Omega by Tobeco, and was gifted the Igo. As far as building goes, Right now the RDA's with posts that have holes in them are easier for me to build dual coil setups on. That's a minor difference, and I have shaky hands so that may be part of the reason. But it's easier for me to stick the wire through the hole in the post and clamp down the screw, than it is to wrap wire around a regular screw post good enough to get good contact and enough "bite." But the big difference for me wasn't in the actual "building", it's the fit and finish. One of my RDA's is so hard to take the top cap off and put it back on that I'm worried I'll damage a mod or ego battery trying to get it apart. That's the downside of clones, at least the ones I got, and on something with such tight tolerances it only takes a nano hair of difference to make or break how easy it is to use and rebuild and how it performs. So do your research on whichever one you're planning to buy, and see what people say about how it fits together and if it presses on easily but keeps a good seal, and if it's almost impossible to pull apart or not. A little side note, I bought silica wick thinking it would be easier and more "noob" friendly. Man was I wrong! I fought the silica and it tasted funny for me with the first few setups I built. I swapped to cotton, a $3 bag of organic cotton balls, and it made it sooooo much easier to build and also like tripled the performance over the silica I had, and I know part of that is because my silica wasn't tight enough inside the coil. But yeah do yourself a favor and regardless of which wick you use, have some cotton balls handy just in case.
  5. Note: The products you mentioned will work great for you i'm sure, I'm just adding some ideas to consider that I think may work well, but your first post above impresses me, you're going about things the right way. Wow your post sounds EXACTLY like my story. I spent WAAAAY too much money on a Blu startup kit a year ago. I tried some different cigalikes but never had much interest, and I waited about a year and a half to get a good ecig, because I had a career change, and was busy and I wanted to do my research so when I bought a real personal vaporizer. I actually recommend two options, either the VV3 mod battery and MVP 2.0 mod, which run about $40 each, or the MVP 2.0 mod and a Vision spinner or ego twist. The MVP is VERY noob friendly AND one beastly performer, along with a ton of battery life. I didn't think I would particularly like the "box mods" but the MVP is perfect, fits just right, feels just right, vapes just right etc. It's $40 right now on sale lots of places and if it was twice that it would be worth the money, but at that price I plan to buy more extras soon for spares. The Ego Twist, VV3, or Vision Spinner is a battery that will work with exactly the same tank, I recommend either the iclear 30S or the Aspire Clearomizer or Davide Mini that Tam suggested above. So all together if you got the MVP 2.0 for $40, which also comes with a pretty nice tank to get you started, it's nice enough to use all the time if you like the way it vapes. I would also get an Ego/Vision spinner battery or just a regular ego battery (Nice non varaible voltage batteries run about $10 brand new.) So for $50 you'd have one of the best variable voltage/variable wattage mods with a huge long lasting powerful battery, and you'd also have a very small pen size battery for when you need something tiny and discreet. Don't be fooled though my MVP 2.0 goes EVERYWHERE with me and fits in my pockets fine, but I know it's nice to have something small every now and then and also a backup in case of a dead battery or something. Your story sounds so much like mine and I know what the right e-juice and vaping device can do for you. I haven't smoked an analog cigarette in over a week and I wasn't even planning to quit when I got my first ego device but it just happened naturally. If I wasn't broke I'd send you an MVP or vision spinner just to try because of how much of a difference it made for me. Summary: MVP 2.0 https://www.completevape.com/innokin-itaste-mvp-20-silver Something like this in the $10 to $20 range http://www.vistavapors.com/vista-battery/#.U2JaoSjN5mY And an extra tank maybe http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&product_id=3333&category_id=98&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=3259&category_id=90
  6. I couldn't believe how fast vaping turned me off of cigarettes completely once I got the right juice and nic content. I didn't set a goal of quitting analogs completely, although I was planning to eventually for my girlfriend/future wife and the kiddos. Once the cravings weren't so strong, cigarettes tasted so nasty and made me feel so bad, so without the strong cravings there just wasn't a lot of motivations considering the pros vs cons. Has it surprised anyone how strong and awful the smell is when a smoking coworker comes into your office or you smell someone around you that is a smoker? Even hours later although the "whiff" when they walk by isn't as forceful it's still an awful, strong, "wow I can't believe I ever smelled that bad" type of smell for me.
  7. On the two grills I cook on enough to be able to answer this, both are a yes with plenty to spare. But grills are different, I've cooked on old rusty ones with old burners that drank fuel, and took a lot of fire to keep the temperature up because they weren't well insulated. If it's a somewhat modern gas grill, and regulates temperature well and isn't the size of a circus tent you should be fine.
  8. I wonder if he's had any offers to be unofficially "sponsored". I know he's probably under tight contracts on that due to marketing deals and partnerships by his employers but I'm not sure how it is with something being offered to him and casually used on the air.
  9. Is it bad I had to find the emails to remember what I bought late last night? Some atomizer stands EM Sweetener Drops Kanthal Wire 3 325 Stainless mesh squares 3 400 Stainless mesh squares Ekowool (I'm buying my cotton wick local this is backup) 4 each 510 atomizers and 510 bridgeless atomizers for dripping Aspire ET-S cartomizer for backup (Vaping One now waiting on two backordered tanks) Patriot clone dripping atomizer setup Omega Clone by Tobeco Misc Drip Tips And last week I made a nice juice order from Comp at Fadora That's what started last night's order, had to get stocked up so me and the Fadora juice can have a close relationship upon it's arrival. I'm typically not into clones but I wanted to try a few different drip setups before making a big investment, and I need one at home and one at work so I got my emails when I woke up this morning and thought "Oh crap, I really bought that much stuff last night?"
  10. Does one of your tanks or something have a longer center pin than the rest that's pushing the mod's pins down and the other tanks don't make a connection?
  11. For the surface area idea, I found that baby food jars are cheap and work well. I used the glass ones, only thing is the 48 cent (US $) babyfood jars I bought don't have real threads on the lids. The lids are metal but they have rubber plasticish threads and they're mostly airtight but if you fully submerge it, it bubbles. I was in a bind needing juice and got some of these, washed em and dried em, and then ultrasonic'd them in my harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner with hot water that stopped safely below the lid-line where water could get in. I'm looking for something VERY similar to the glass baby food jars but with real screw on lids. They provide a much larger surface area and allow more oxygen, and transferring back and fourth wastes almost no juice. I used a syringe with rubber hose, it was at the dollar store by the baby droppers (got one of them too).
  12. That's great to hear. I've got some Fadora on the way, and so far watermelon is by far the best juice I've tried, although I have about 10 new bottles, fruits and sweets, that haven't fully developed so I may like more once theyve steeped. So watermelon being my favorite in general, it should be REALLY my favorite once I get a taste of the Fador-a-fied Watermelon. I've got dripping supplies on the way too that I got just for my Fadora stuff, I've also got birthday cake and grape I believe on the way, and canned peaches. I cant wait to get a chest full of Fadora. Liability disclaimer: I was so excited about getting some good juice and seeing all those flavors, I was throwing so much in the cart I might have a few surprises as to what I ended up with, but I'm pretty sure on the watermelon and birthday cake. Whatever I didn't get will be in my next shipment which isn't far behind.
  13. It can be confusing sometimes because the lines are now more blurred than when the terms originally came about. I'm fairly new to "enthusiast" vaping as I call it. I've been following vaping on a year or two and tried some cig alikes, really I was just waiting to get a nice setup, and have the time to learn enough to order some nice stuff. The tanks, atomizers and drippers, and clearomizers used to be very distinct. Now the lines are blurred, it kind of depends on who you talk to or where you shop, etc. Most people consider clearomizers to be the inexpensive CE4/ego knockoff disposable type tanks. However now even the cheap plastic tanks can have their coil units and replaced to save on waste and maybe cost. Here's an example of a few "clearomizers" http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1156&category_id=39 When most people talk about "tanks" they're talking sometimes something like a Kanger Pro Tank or Aspire Nautilus type tank that has replaceable coils, or often they're referring to full rebuilable atomizers that have a tank attached, like the Kay Fun Lite. Here's the Aspire Nautilus which is a "tank" with oem made specific replaceable coils. They're designed where you can replace the coil unit with different resistance levels but it's not designed by the manufacturer to be easily rewicked and re-coiled. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/aspire-nautilus-bdcc/ Here's an "RBA" or rebuildable atomizer tank setup http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1828&category_id=61 Sorry I know I threw a ton of stuff at you at one time. I've been doing a ton of research to get caught up and build up my personal inventory, and build some nice setups. Tammy has been a HUGE asset as well as the rest of the community. Now for the last part of your question, dripping. Dripping will allow you to drip a few drops of e-juice down onto the wick and coils of an atomizer and vape those drops. There's not a reservoir, so it's easy to taste many different flavors without a lot of effort like emptying and washing out tanks or having 20 different clearomizers holding juice. It also allows for a really good vape, and you get the full flavor of the juice as its intended, and people say that nicotine is stronger when dripping, and often drip a lower level than they use in a tank because of the strong, direct hit. You can get started dripping with these disposable atomizers and a drip shield, I just ordered some for me. Dripping is great for when you're sitting around the house in your recliner or what have you just enjoying your vape or tasting different juice than your "all day vape" such as apple pie vape for dessert. But it's not as convenient as a tank or clearomizer for "fill it and forget it" use where you have a big reservoir that doesn't spill or leak and you don't have to worry about carrying a bottle and dripping for a few hits then repeating. http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=294&category_id=63 or a nice non-disposable rebuildable where you can tune the atomizer to your preferred vape, juice, and equipment for optimal performance and pennies in material to rebuild http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1831&category_id=61
  14. I'm rather new, but a person of faith and I'll have him in my prayers.
  15. I'm really sorry to hear about this. I went and checked out the site and on the product page they had a return policy. I copied it so you could use it, but realized after selecting it, that it seems to me they're doing things according to the terms. They're letting you shortcut the process by sending you another one without you sending yours back, if I understand the translations correctly. The policy states that the buyer would pay the freight cost to send the product to them. Once they receive it, they will ship the replacement to you and cover the freight back. To save time it sounds like they're offering to ship you another one without you sending the broken one back to them. The cost for a replacement is the same as what's stated on the site, but you don't have to wait on the item to be shipped to them first and them inspect it, then ship the new one. Of course some retailers would go out of their way to make you happy and send a new one immediately no cost to you, But they aren't obligated or contracted to do it, they are working hard to make the customer happy. This company has the return and refund policy stated in huge font in the product description and they seem to be sticking to what it says, except for not delaying the process by waiting on your bad one to arrive.
  16. Woo Hoo I just my MVP and the iClear it came with and an iClear 30s and Nautilus Aspire BDC Clearomizer Which carto/clearomizer should I go with first to learn my way around the VV/VW? The Pro Tank 3 and Nautilus are on backorder. Which carto/clearomizer should I go with first to learn my way around the VV/VW? I have the Vista Nova I've been using, iClear 30 (comes with MVP) and iClear 30S and Nautilus Clearomizer BDC to choose from.
  17. Hello Everyone, I'm CharliesTheMan, and I started looking into vaping about a year ago, but life got really busy and I wanted to do my research and get set up properly, so vaping went to the back burner while I started a new job (while still running my own business but scaled way down). So I got caught up, so that a coworker had an ego knock off, and went and bought myself a starter kit. Immediately after coming back to put the ego battery on charge I ordered about 8 bottles of juice, a Vista Nova tank/cartomizer, lanyard and ring, higher quality battery and a few other things. I planned to cut my analog use way back, or have an alternative for when I couldn't smoke for various reasons. Well two days into vaping and I had this huge realization that "Hey, I think I might just quit smoking. Come to think of it I've only had a few analogs since I've been vaping." Fast forward 6 days, I've been reading non stop and watching grimm green, reading and researching legislation, and I have an MVP 2 mod being delivered hopefully today, along with several tanks and and rebuildable atomizers and cartomizers and pro tank coils on the way along with a drip tip. Once I get the MVP 2 setup I'm quitting smoking all together and strictly vaping. I wanted a forum that I could participate in and be an active part of the community, a forum and vendors who focused on quality over quantity when it came to the community and forums, and a place I could proudly call home, and not be lost in the bazillions of cluttered threads, posts and users like some other forums. So after doing a lot of reading, here I am, a proud member of VaporTalk
