  1. Excellent point. I am of the opinion based on my personal research of exploding batteries and stories similar when I started vaping that it is very very risky to charge your batteries using anything except a wall adapter. Also you should never leave them unattended like you said too. When I am in a position to need to leave them charging when I am not in the house I have a dutch oven that has a chip in the rim the perfect size to fit 4-5 charging cords. With the heavy lid and cast iron build I am certain it would suffice. Thing is I haven't used it in forever since I have so many batteries in rotation now. I think I could go a week and a half to two weeks at this point and never run out of batteries without charging them lol.

Absolutely not true. I have about 50 years of electronics experience starting as a kid and 43 years in the electrical industry. Am currently the sole electrical safety guy for an industrial manufacturer with several remote sites nationwide in case you want to argue.

Avoid cheap knockoff products and the odds are in your favor. Even given that there will always be a chance of a catastrophic failure in electrical/electronic components of the highest quality. That risk is all around us every day.

  2. I am posting this so people will know what I went through because of my foolishness and what to watch out for. So I was working at my desk pretty intensivly and my e cig started to taste funny but I had to get this paper done before work. I dumped pretty much a full clearomizer out into a red solo cup I had by my desk and refilled then finished my paper. The issue was is that by the time I had finished my paper I had chugged my drink in the cup without noticing the liquid was in there and boy did I pay for that. Within about 20 minutes I got nauseous and my heart rate rose. The heart rate went down relatively quickly but the nausea stayed for about 4 hours, but once I got sick I felt much better and in retrospect I should have went to the hospital after I realized it but still. I did not really have any other symptoms from it and it was a horrible experience none the less. I am a hefty guy about 220lbs and ingested about 3ml of 36mg e-juice. So about 108mg of nicotine assuming I absorbed all of it before I threw up about 4-5 hours after ingestion.

    tl:dr

dont drink the liquid and PAY ATTENTION when handling it. Although it did not do any permanent damage (as far as I know) I got horrible sleep, burst a lot of blood vessels in my face and eyes from throwing up, and chest discomfort all because I was not paying attention. I also am hefty and that played a big part in this, if this had been a smaller guy, child, or woman it could have easily landed them in the hospital or much much worse.

Another contender for the 2014 Darwin Awards.

  3. I own a Provari, 2 Semovars, an eVic, Vamo, Sigelei Zmax and other stuff. To be honest I wouldn't lose a whole lot of sleep if I learned all I could use were the Vamo or Zmax for the rest of my life. The Semovars and Provari to me perform marginally better but not night and day better. For me their main advantages are not strict vape performance. I'm very pleased strictly with the performance of all of the above.

As with other products there's a lot of hype and people merely wanting to believe their device performs head and shoulders better than the rest. I have no doubt they have convinced themselves that they are right. By nature people always want to convince themselves they've made the better choice and seek justification. Reinforcement via other enthusiasts via internet forums seeking reinforcement themselves just build on it.

For me the belief that 33 mhz device vape performance is drastically inferior is flawed. Its power output may not be as pretty on an oscilloscope but I personally don't watch an oscilloscope while vaping.

I do often think about the old story of the emperor's new clothes...

  4. I've had a couple of 120V wall adapters without enough output to adequately supply an eGo usb charger. Same symptoms - the batteries would never come to full charge. When I charge an eGo batt now I just use a usb port on my ups or computer.

  5. Wait! NO!!!

Don't get the 2.2 ohm coils for your Pro Tank. You have a regular fixed voltage Ego battery so the 2.2 is going to be too high of a resistance to work well. Go with either the 1.5 or the 1.8 ohm coil instead. I'd go with the 1.8 but that's my preference. If you go with a higher resistance without the ability to increase the voltage of your battery, you can suck till the cows come home and get very little vapor. Your battery won't be able to heat the coil enough to do much else.

If you already ordered your replacement coils, contact the vendor and ask if you can make the switch.

Agreed. I still carry a fixed voltage eGo around at work because it fits nicely in my shirt pocket with a mini pt. 1.8Ω is just right for me.

  6. Prob will not notice the difference between 1.5 and 2.0. The ones I am using that are 2.0-2.1 are actually 1.8ohm KPT coils that are always a little higher than stated in resistance. At least that has been my experience. I go through some coils, I dont even try to conserve as cheap as they are. It tastes a little burned or there is black stuff floating around my tank off the coil and I toss the coil and clean the tank. I can count on one hand the number of 1.8ohm coils I have gotten that read under 2.0ohms lol.

Yeah I buy mostly 1.8Ω Kanger coils and they always read somewhere around 2Ω. No big deal as far as I'm concerned. I use vw exclusively in the 7-8 watt range so my pv's auto adjust to varying resistances.

  7. I'm the opposite. Almost every juice flavor I've gotten from mbv was very good. The ones I didn't like were almost all random sample flavors they tossed in free with my order. None of them were flavors I would have ordered anyway based on my tastes so I wasn't surprised.

  8. I've ordered more winners than losers from mbv based largely on reviews and knowing my own tastes. I have nothing at all negative to say about them. Ordering based on reviews is always a crapshoot as different people like different things. My luck with mbv though has been better than most vendors.

Again, I have never had anything but positive dealings with them. They are an excellent vendor imo.

  9. Kinda heavy on the vg% but not unheard of. Could cause wicking issues depending on what delivery device you're using. Personally I go with 80% pg and 20% vg. - just the opposite. Some people go with 100% vg but their delivery device has to be able to accomodate that without wicking issues, dry hits etc.
