  1. Hey everyone, just discovered a pretty neat product. Pelican cases some pretty hard core cases in small packages. They are a pretty big name in cases so you shouldn't have a hard time finding them online. I'm a Canadian and found a few canadian sites that sell them, and many more American ones. I would suggest looking at the 1010, you can get do it yourself foam inserts with them so you can cut out the foam to fit any ecig you have, and I think they'll even fit a bottle of juice in them. I also found the 0900 series from them which is made for memory cards, but it automatically comes with a blank foam insert to custom make the inside. The only catch with these are they're to slim to fit a regular juice bottle, but will have no problems with carts. You can also just order some smaller dropper bottles to fit into the case and transfer your favorites into it. on a side note, thought I'd mention that www.batteryjunction.com has spade batteries on sale right now for 3.99, and they get cheaper if you order more.
  2. I just ordered one of these http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4312783&CatId=1028 think that's the cheapest and easiest solution, specially if you're using the passthroughs from wordup or electronicstix
  3. thanks for the tips. I have some vg bottles on their way from wordup, just hoping the glucose won't have any effect on my weight. I'm also in Canada and we don't have walgreens here, but I've been using a spray called Mouth Kote availabel here. The active ingredients are Yerba Santa and Xlitol, probably the same stuff as in the products at Walgreens. Bottom line is that I don't want to have to carry around and spend more money on something to overcome this dry throat and cough. And don't want to deal with weight issues from vg if there are any. And I can't drink any more water then I already am, having the habit of drinking water as often as I do even before ecigs. I've actually missed my smokers cough the past couple days compared to the vapor cough I've had, especially in the morning or fits that have come on while sleeping.
  4. I think I jinxed myself by making the post last night. About an hour after I fell asleep, had the worst coughing fit from vaping to date. Woke up coughing painfully after that first hour of sleep. Had to take cough medicine to get it to stop and so that I could go back to sleep. I'm interested about the PG comment above since I've seen VG based juices available. Would switching to VG possibly get rid of this dry throat issue?
  5. First off, Happy New Year to everyone and now, on to the post. I got my spade about 3 weeks ago, and haven't touched an analog from the moment my first battery was charged . I've already felt all the benefits everyone else talks about on the forums of vaping within the first week. The thing I was happiest to get rid of was the smokers cough. However, almost as soon as my smokers cough was gone, I started waking up with a new cough, and have been experiencing it throughout the day. It seems to almost get worse everyday. This is definitely not my lungs clearing out the mess I made with analogs. These coughs are straight from the dry, harsh tickling in my throat (feels like there's sandpaper), very different from the phlegm based smokers cough. I was blaming my sleep medication which has the possible side effect of dry mouth, but after getting my brother, and one of my friends into vaping, they both made the same comment to me on seperate occasions of how dry their throats were since starting vaping. This was the point where I decided it's not my medication, it's the act of vaping. This was also the point where I put 2 and 2 together and realized why pretty much every Grimm Green video review and some others I've seen have them with a water bottle on hand. I didn't need to change my habits when I realized this as I already drink a minimum of 2-3 liters of water a day and pretty much never without it. I'd like to know if this is a known side effect of vaping, if anyone on the forums is having the same experience, if it's the juice/spade I'm using (i'm smoking 16mg vapor talk Dulcis and Exotic Tobacco), and if anyone who has had the same problem has any resolutions to try beyond drinking water? I've taken to using a sore throat spray, but that only relieves my throat for an hour or so, and then it kicks back in, and I definitely don't want to have to start carrying the spray around with me or using it every day through out the day.
  6. The above pretty much describes my situation with my spade that I just got yesterday bang on, only difference being since this is my first ecig, I have nothing to compare it to or other models to swap parts with. I charged each battery for 8 hours. Super dissapointed. Got mine from Dietsmokes.
  7. Got my spade and some juices on Friday from Dietsmokes, and spoke to Jeff at wordup today for my second order, so definitely a go for Canadians. On a side note, the vaping is awesome and I'm done with analogs, but I'm only getting about an hour to an hour 15 of use on each of the batteries that came with my spade. Charged each one for 8 hours before using them.
  8. I've posted on this topic a few times in the "is it true" thread, another thread where a fellow Canadian was asking where to buy in Canada (a supplier posted there to saying he can deliver to Canada, in addition to me saying I've gotten confirmation from Parked that he delivers to Canada), and I think one other place to. I also included an email I got from a Canadian supplier when I asked him about the legality of this in Canada and Chris responded to it to saying the supplier reply I posted was pretty much bang on. Basically, it's definitely not illegal in Canada. Shipments are being seized that are coming into Canada if customs is familiar with the company importing them or catches them. There is a lawsuit happening as a result of the siezures as it's not illegal. Don't ever order anything from China. Order from suppliers in the states that know what they're doing in sending to Canada (as simple as using UPS instead of regular mail). Or do a google search for "e cigarretes Canada" and you'll get a pretty large list of suppliers, the only catch is that they don't sell juice with nicotine, but you can find suppliers in Canada that do have pre filled cartridges with nicotine.
  9. I was actually going to post about this today, but figured I should do a forum search before I asked an old question, couldnt' find anything in either of the review sections, but found this thread. wondering if anyone has any experience with these yet and if there are any reviews? I found one comment at http://www.happyvaper.com/DSE_601_E_Pipe_p/601kit.htm that is positive, but definitely not enough to base an opinion on. Was also wondering if there are any North American manufactures that have created one or if Chinese manufacturers are the only option for e pipes at the moment.
  10. I'm smoking analogs with only 6-8 mg of nicotine, so I'm hoping the 16 mg ones I ordered will do the trick. If not, I'll be sure to try out the 24mg ones. I have no idea what the pipe tobocco I smoke is at nicotine levels wise, but the main reason I smoke pipes is the pure pleasure of taste and the breathing process. I have severe anxiety and I find smoking pipes help me calm down, I mentioned it to one of my doctors and they said it's because of the big inhales and exhales you do with pipe smoking mimic deep breathing exercises except for the use of nasal inhalation. From the videos I've seen of people smoking e cigs, it looks like that feeling is going to be mimiced with the bigger draws you have to take. Possibly another big benefit of ecigs that haven't been mentioned/recognized yet.
  11. I ordered from dietsmokes.com and I'm in toronto ontario and they don't seem to have a problem with shipping to canada either.
  12. Hi all, I'm new to the world of ecigs and am really looking forward to getting my spade within a couple days. I've had experience with vaping, just not to replace my cigarette habit if you know what I mean. The hardest thing to get used to was the lack of what I guess is called the throat hit in the world of ecigs. I ordered a bottle of the caramel stuff and traditional tobacco of the vapor talk variety, and am hoping those are a good place to start. I'm a pipe smoker as well, and a caramel based blend is one of my favorites with pipes. What I'm curious about when it comes to ejuice is what makes one brand better then another? I'm not really concerned about flavours, but more about the throat hit, the quality of the juice, does one brand last longer then the other, and do certain brands have more negative ingredients (like the antifreeze chemical) then another? or anything else you can think of to point out to me would be greatly appreciated.
  13. oops, you are chris , I thought it was your partner in crime I saw in your videos that made that post since I saw you so blatantly shut down someone on another topic asking about where to get from if you're in Canada. At least my mistake gets me one step closer to getting out of noobie.
  14. glad you agree, might want to stop chris from posting on the main forums telling Canadians it's illegal and we should talk to our government. I feel bad for the fellow canadian who got that response from Chris and may have been turned off of your product or ecigs in general when one of the main guys makes a comment like that. I spoke to dietsmokes today about my order and they stated there should be no problem with me recieving my spade and juice in a few days.
  15. Here's the reply I got from a retailer in Canada regarding the legality. It is our belief that the e-cig does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Food and Drugs Act, as Health Canada would like the public to believe. Since Health Canada is tasked with the enforcement of said Act, and not with creating new laws, we don’t view the recommendation of Health Canada as an order under law. They can, working with Customs, stop imports of the devices (which has caused lawsuits in the United States and UK), but we believe that is where their influence ends. Regarding the safety of the devices – several privately funded studies have found strong evidence showing they are in fact healthier than traditional cigarettes. The FDA study in the States has been debunked by numerous educated individuals, including Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) in the UK, and has been said to hold no merit. This said, the end decision must lie with the consumer. You mentioned reading forums and doing research, so you must be aware of the countless individuals that have had incredible success in switching from analogs to e-cigs. Most news posts and health advisories are swarmed with comments from happy individuals that have long chosen to ignore the “advisory” of the governing bodies, and make the decision for themselves. It must rely on your own educated opinion. So I invite you to do as much research as possible before trying the product. In such an industry, there are several well-financed players that do not want this device to succeed, as you might have realized already. If you believe that this device is unsafe, please do not use it, but when you are smoking cigarettes that seem to be causing obvious harm, the only direction you can go is up.
