  1. I don't believe I've ever known a true shopaholic. I know that my wife will occasionally come home from the stores with a sheepish grin on her face. I've never doubted her judgment, but we've had this conversation... John - "How'd it go?" Melissa - "Um... good, I guess" John - "What does 'I guess' mean?" Melissa - "I spent more than I wanted to." John - "So you at least found some stuff you liked." Melissa - "Yes, well, but, do you want to know what I spent?" John - "No. What the hell do I care? You make more money then I do." This is usually when Melissa will tell me how much she spent that day. I will point to my reef tank and say, "Wanna know how much I spent on that?" She'll say' "No." (Thank God!) I'll go back to my book or newspaper or laptop, and she'll open packages to display and sometimes model her purchases. My father was a buyaholic, but with normal household consumables. He, and my mother, lived through the depression, so if canned veggies, or cheese, bread, light bulbs, antifreeze, motor oil, just about anything he knew he would use eventually was on sale, he bought. It got stored in the basement or garage. My father died more than 15 years ago, and my mother has recently moved out of the old homestead to go into home hospice care at my sister's. I am know throwing out 30 year old cans of green beans and boxes of spark plugs that would fit a 1974 AMC Hornet. This is what worries me. I've always been a typical male consumer, I.E. need a pair of jeans, go buy a pair of jeans. But PV's and juice and spare parts... these I'm buying, need or not, at a record pace. I honestly don't think I can stop.
  2. I've always preferred singing cladograms. I think I'll go take an aspirin and lay down for a while.
  3. Congrats Hdryder! The Spade (right here in the VT store) is a very popular unit that I can personally recommend. Janty's eGo (also know as the Tornado at Totally Wicked) also uses 510 atomizers, has great battery life, and seems to be creating a really good reputation for itself.
  4. Yes, but Christopher and Jason and others have a lot of my numbers, the ones with the dollar signs in front of them.
  5. I'm not afraid to say that I don't know what's worse at this point... the schools or the parents. I do believe that the parents are ultimately to blame. Junior gets told his whole life that he's special, and he's smart, and as long as he does his best... well, that's all that really matters. Then he goes looking for a job and find's out that his best aint s#!t, and nobody will pay you to try real hard.
  6. You crack me up, TeriJo. We are definitely cut from the same cloth! I just have to ask... Can you talk and vape at the same time or do you run out of oxygen and pass out?
  7. I knew i was a vapaholic, I'm talking about my newly discovered Buyaholism.
  8. I know what you mean. Come on everybody... we can't help you over this hurdle until you admit you have a problem.
  9. I've always been really irritated by the whole "kill every germ" mentality we've gone off on. I get that you need to wash your hands regularly, but I also feel that a lot of this is marketing designed to sell products, especially to parents, to help ensure the "health" of their precious little spoiled, self-centered, over-stimulated, never punished ankle biters. Not that I have an opinion.
  10. Honestly, I think at this point I have enough quality equipment, spare parts, and liquid to vape for the next six months or so, if not a whole freakin' year! Why can I not stop buying stuff? I think I need a new counter for my signature, one that says, John hasn't purchased any vaping supplies for the last XXX days and can still vape comfortably for the next XXX weeks.
  11. Don't beat yourself up over it, Dave. I can't imagine the pressure you're under.
  12. How is it that I agree with Mark. And agree with Dave too? I found the video clip to be very fair. The doctor stressed the simple thing that I always say when the talk of bans comes up, If you're going to ban e-cigs, you have to ban tobacco cigs too! I just wish these interviews would start including people who use PV's so they could demonstrate and talk about their experiences.
  13. Ah, folks... Larry smokes, said so himself.
  14. I'm pretty sure you were in deep trouble as soon as you said that, JM. I'm just an instigator who won't be truly happy until all hell breaks loose. BTW, I honestly don't know anyone else who vapes on a regular basis, male or female, besides myself. I've had a few friends try vaping, but they've all gone back to analogs... and all my friends are sexy.
  15. Well now I'm really confused... I mean, I've never even met your wife.
  16. Hi Larry, Welcome to vapor talk. Wow, that's a pretty overwhelming first post, let me try to help. I don't think I've ever seen prefilled 0 nic. cartridges. If I'm wrong I's sure someone will be along quickly to correct me. Lots of suppliers have 0mg juice available in all kinds of flavors. You'll need to fill blank carts (carts that come with filler but no juice) or learn to direct drip. If you bought a real Joye 510, and it sounds like you did, be assured that you made a great decision. We just need to help you through the learning curve so you know how to use it. There's a certain failure rate in all products produced nowadays, and people have gotten bad parts occasionally, so make sure you buy from a supplier with a good reputation. Atomizers usually last about a month, depending on care and use. A battery will take hundreds of charges and last at least six months, again care and use factor in, before it's usefulness begins to degrade. Make sure to get manual (push-button) batteries, the automatics have a much higher failure rate. My 510 batteries took a few charging cycles before they really hit their stride. If you're going through them quickly, you're going to have to get a couple more and just keep cycling them through the charger. Also consider picking up a pass-through. That allows you to plug your 510 directly into a usb port... no battery needed. You do need a cartridge, but you can remove all of the filler from it (just yank it out with a tweezers) and drip juice directly in to the atomizer. If you havent been to the Noob FAQ Video Section go there and watch the "What is direct dripping" vid, and probably all of the others. Most of us have found that we're unhappy with how long cartridges last, and direct drip. You can vape straight Propylene Glycol (PG) or vegetable Glycerin (VG) but there will be no flavor and wont be very satisfying. You can not put water in your atomizer. Finally, if the first thing you think of when you think Vapor Talk is that it's, "dedicated to selling the products," you haven't explored nearly enough. Look around, read, watch the videos, and feel free to ask more questions. Good luck! .
  17. Hmmmm. Why do I feel like somebody just smacked me in the back of my head? Oh... right... I'm an idiot.
  18. I don't mean to be a jerk, it just comes to me naturally. Part of Sensay's problem is that she doesn't have the cash to order more stuff, like lower or zero strength juice in the same flavor, right now. I totally understand, because I don't like to place an order until I can afford to get enough stuff get free shipping. Sensay, if the flavor thing becomes a prob, and you happen to find a baker's supply near you, check and see if they have any LorAnn's flavorings. 1/2 dram bottles are like $1.25 and are what some of us use to flavor home made liquids. Just a couple drops can give you a little flavor boost.
  19. My advice is to lose the mod for now and go back to the cart while you get used to dripping. There is no need to keep the filler in the cart. It sounds to me like you're over dripping. Blow out the atty, into a paper towel, and carefully dab inside to soak up any extra juice. Start over and go slow. If the learning curve is kicking your butt, make sure you're really paying attention to what you're doing, and remove variables like mods. BTW, if your atty's leaking, more juice won't help! Good luck!
  20. Sensay, you can go to the drug store, or any place that sells a lot of baking and cake decorating supplies, and find yourself a bottle of vegetable glycerin. (VG) Look for a bottle that says something like "99+% Glycerin U.S.P." You can use that to cut your juice as much as you want. You will loose some favor if you add a lot, but you'll get lots of sweet tasting vapor! I will vape straight VG, especially late in the evening, so I don't get a nicotine rush before I try to sleep. I buy 2 oz. bottles at the local baker's supply shop for $2.25.
  21. It's a good thing you don't live in a cold climate, you'd be forming icicles in your crumb-brusher!
  22. Profbeard, there's been a lot of discussion here about the Super T brass and/or stainless "T-tip" mouthpieces. I have to ask if your decision to (apparently) not get one was based on the added cost, or that you didn't like the idea of the metal in your mouth?
  23. A good friend of mine, who's still smoking, always grabs my bottles of juice, asks what the flavors are, opens them up and smells them. Sometimes she's actually asked me to take a puff of one and blow the vapor in her face so she can get a better whiff. I've never been vaping near anyone who's turned to say, " What's that smell?"
  24. Holy crap! Does this guy sound depressed or what? I guess, by the end of that sad, sad story he says he still hopes to quit tobacco cigarettes, and implies that he'll make the switch to vaping. I think I'll go back, read the comments, and maybe encourage him to get a mod, some good juice, and start direct dripping.
  25. LOL! I've offended a defender of big red turds! I can hear it now, "Big red turds have feelings too!"
