  1. Personally, I'm a fatty boombal atty. Probably from eating all those grammer crackers. (Sorry everyone, I'm still on painkillers.)
  2. I thought Spinal Tap taught us all that you don't put a cucumber in your pocket, you wrap it in foil an slide it right down your pant leg. I wonder how long before we have cuke flavored e-juice?
  3. Everclear doesn't just "clean out" atomizers! I think you should tell us a story about the day after, Travis.
  4. So, I love my Spade, and it's working great; but, I have a question. Does the led ever flash or anything? I finally realized, after dripping into what looked like pretty full carts, that I should change batteries. That got me back to "big vapor country," but also got me wondering.
  5. LMAO, but is it wrong that between these two videos, I was totally distracted buy this?
  6. She's beautiful! I'm sure she'll have you wrapped around her little finger for years and years! My daughter still does, and she's almost 18!
  7. Wow, you can afford vaping AND HBO? I'm impressed!
  8. Welcome to the VT forum, Deko! Congratulations on giving up the analogs! Sounds to me like you've done your research and have most of this stuff figured out. I don't have any answers for you, (I'm pretty new to vaping myself) but I'm sure you'll get some soon.
  9. Exactly. So, Newport, if you can afford a spade, you'll have a couple spare atty's right away, so the 510 purchace wont be a total waste. Just keep trying the 510. Like I said, mine acted a little weird for at least the 1st week. Now it's working perfectly. Don't forget everything you read about what a good choice the 510 is for nubes. BTW, where did you buy the 510? If it truly is a bad unit, hopefully you got it from someone who warranties their starter kits. Or, you could sell it in the VT classified section. I'd make an offer on it. If you were smoking just a half a pack of analogs a day, 18 mg should be a fine place for you to start. I was between 1 and two packs a day, and I switch between 18 and 26 depending on my mood.
  10. I've owned my 510 for a couple weeks. I did charge the batteries according to the instructions, but still had a few issues with them acting weird during the 1st week or so. Now they're working perfectly, and my atty's are broken in a bit, so the unit is vaping great! My advise is, give it some time. Don't feel like you have to take the batteries off the charger as soon as the light goes green; but, do make sure to charge for at least one hour when you do plug one in, no matter what the led says. That's what I've been doing, and everything's working out fine. Don't panic. There's a learning curve here, and no better teacher than experience. Good Luck.
  11. Amen, Brother. Don't cremate me when I die, my liver alone would burn for days!
  12. Here in Wisconsin, where drinking is more of a requirement than a choice, I try to do my share of the heavy lifting; but, drinking straight grain alcohol?.... that's hard core! I remember back in my college days (to be honest, I became a carpenter straight out of high school... I just moved in with friends who were going to UWM, and drank heavily.) we used to make a little party favor we called mouthwash. It was half Everclear, and half Rumplemintz. (100 proof peppermint schnapps) We kept it in a spray bottle in the freezer, and would occasionally take it out at parties and squirt it directly into guest's mouths. (Preferably under the tongue.) It would, almost immediately, numb your whole face! I wish I could remember the name of the guy who decided to grab the bottle one night, unscrew the top, and pound 3 or 4 ounces down. We found him outside later. He'd passed out on the front steps, with his face about 5 treads lower than his feet!
  13. Thanks for the info, guys! And BTW FTJoe, your avatar is freaking me out!
  14. stubear, If you wouldn't mind sharing your technique, I'd appreciate it. Do you put something in the water? How long do you let them "cook"? Do you use a dry rub or a marinade? etc. Or, if you've explained it before, please point me to that post, Thanks!
  15. So, last month I replaced my old, dying PC desktop with an awesome Mac Mini! Now the only piece of Microsoft junk I have left in the house it the laptop I'm typing this message on. The hardware is fine. It's a Compaq (so HP guts) with an AMD Turion 64 1.9 GHz chip, 2 gigs of RAM and a DVD drive. My Mac is mainly for my photography and music. I do almost all of my email and surfing on the laptop, but I think I'm done with Microsoft. I didn't mind XP, but this thing has Vista, and I've never liked it, I just got used to it. I was thinking of going back to XP, when Microsoft dangled their shiny new carrot in front of me. I thought about upgrading to 7 for a bit, and then realized that, 1) I've already given those bastards enough of my money, and, 2) 7 will have problems just like Vista, and XP, and ME, and 2000....... they never fix anything, they just come out with something new every few years, and ask for more of my cash. That being said, does anybody here use Linux? I'm pretty savvy, when it comes to computers. I'm not afraid of Linux, I guess I'm just looking for that last little push to get me over the edge. I'd be interested to hear some feedback from someone who's using it now. I'd go to a computer forum, but I don't want to be attacked by squadrons of geeks and nerdlingers, I just want to hang out in The Vapor Lounge and see what you all know. My apologies to all of you who love your Microsoft PC. It is not my intent to insult you or your choices. I have had generally good performance from my previous MS OS's, but I can't continue to support what I look at as an unfair monopoly. I would also like to apologize to all of the geeks and nerdlingers.
  16. Sorry, FTJoe, i feel like i stepped on your toes a little bit. I saw Brian's post and jumped to respond so he knew about the warranty before he ordered. I didn't see that you'd already warned him.
  17. They are the same, but I believe I read a post in VT about Totally Wicked not having a guarantee on "bulk" items. at least its not the same as their starter kits and other stuff. That person had the first two attys go bad, and no recourse. From everything I've read, people like TW for their juice. I'll still be buying my hardware from the VT store and ElectroNic Stix.
  18. Good Morning! Earlier today, I started doing some research on mixing my own flavors, and that led to a search for some strong nicotine e-liquid to use as a base. That led me to Totally Wicked where I found a 54 mg fluid meant to be cut down with your choice of PG or VG and a flavoring. (i.e. exactly what I was looking for.) I was happy to see that it was 30% off, and then I realized that everything there is 30% off through Dec 8. It seems to me that their prices are a bit high to begin with, but if this is how they want to celebrate their 1st anniversary in the U.S., I believe there are some deals to be found.
  19. Apparently, size does matter. That has to be what's making me so comfortable here. I'm already sharing more about myself here, because I feel so at ease. Maybe it's part of that "I'm in the smoking section" vibe. Everyone's relaxed and easy going... friendly and polite. Kick back, take a big drag, and vent your vapor, and your soul if you'd like. The people around you understand. There's not much stress here, because you've already got something in common. So, no, ddavelarsen, no slaps for you. You're certainly not off topic, because you love this forum.
  20. If he likes his 510, maybe he'd like some extra batteries (or Mega batteries) or a PCC. I just got my Spade today, but I don't think I'll be taking it out of the house much. I bought it more for the big vapor production, not the battery life. and it is awesome. I'd just rather stay under the radar when I'm out in public. I say find out why your dad likes his 510, and, maybe, what he doesn't like about it. I know that my father, no matter how old I got, never thought I needed to make any decisions for him
  21. I found the straw mod under the "Auto Drip Mod" topic, and thought I'd like to give it a try. I'm sure I'll try the ADM too. I have plenty of time on my hands since I'm still recovering from my foot surgery. (Plenty of time to sit around and vape!) Here's my question... If you've tried the straw mod, what did you use as the straw itself? It seems to me that a cocktail straw is a little flimsy. The guy in the video cut up a knock-off Q-tip that had a hollow plastic rod, so I looked for those at the drugstore this morning, but no luck. I don't have the ability to go out and search the hobby and hardware stores right now. So give me some ideas, please! BTW... After trying to find the proper kind of cotton swab this morning, I went to sit and wait for my prescriptions. My foot was getting sore. I was getting a little irritated, and I just wanted to go home, take some pain meds, and relax. I thought, "Well, If Keenan can vape in the hospital, I'm sure as heck gonna vape here." And I puffed away, and nobody said a word.
  22. I'm assuming that included a generator so that you can power your pass-through during outages.
  23. So, yesterday, I snuck out of the house to go support one of my favorite local taverns. I wasn't there for five minutes before I was approached by a lady who had heard of electronic cigarettes, but had never seen one. (It happens to me all the time.) I gave her a quick run down on how they work, and she was very interested in getting her own, so I told her about Vapor Talk, and ElectroNic Stix. She said she'd remember, but I'm assuming that she went home, and just googled "e-cigs" or something, and ended up God knows where. When I got home, I opened my new shipment from ElectroNic Stix. When I saw the business cards that Jason includes in the box, I realized that I should put them in my wallet, so that next time I can simply hand them out to whoever asks about my wonderful Joye 510. I hope Christopher included some cards with the Spade I ordered yesterday, because I would love to be able to promote the Vapor Talk store as well. My only fear, at this point, is that I'm going to run out of cards pretty fast. Jason and Christopher, If you'd like to throw a bunch in an envelope for me, PM for my address. An idea for suppliers - The next time you have business cards printed, include a promo code, or just be sure to cite any existing special you have. That way, I can point it out when I give somebody the card, and they'll be even more likely to remember to look you up. (Everybody likes a good promo!) John
  24. I'm totally inspired! I think I'll take my 510 to my next doctor's appointment. I'd like to hear his opinion on vaping, and there's no better way to start that conversation than to vape right in front of him!
