  1. You do know the car pulling in to the pump on the other side, is actually burning something and is 1000000X the heat source of an E-cig.. Heck the old lady getting mad was a bigger heat source. Great story tho
  2. My 2 cents in the 401 has more throat hit than the 801. The 401 produces a warmer, harsher vapor, which to me = throat hit 801 is cool and smooth, still hit, but not the warm mouth, lung hit of the 401. I even switch to a fresh 801 atty since it was old and the 401 was new.. Nope still more hit from the 401.
  3. Most likely when you start your car the cig lighter will shut off, as with all the other accesories, such as the radio, heater/aircon.. You can plug something into the lighter with an LED and then start the car. Most likely it will turn off when the key is in the start position. You may get a voltage drop when you are starting your car, (causing whatever to run at lower voltage drawing more amps) but you will never get a voltage spike. The only way a car produces power is from the alternator, which is protected by a voltage regulator, to spin (after the car is running).
  4. Bingo on the short... You have a hollowed out pipe in some of these poorly though to mods, making the entire thing a ground. Positive come in contact with just about anywhere and you have a short. Somewhere the positive must be insulated from the ground. How much do you want to bet that the insulation has not been tested, such that it would be possible to run the PV for an extended length of time, causing the insulation to break down or melt or whatever, break down over time, or be damaged installing batts, causing a short in the pipe bomb. I'll take a guess on this one in regards to discarged batts exploding, might be worth looking into.. I'll bet that if you take a next to dead discharged unprotected cell, and try to charge it on an unprotected charger, I'll put money that it will explode.
  5. Looking at the site, the word is "totally mechanical". In their mind having a switch that makes a contact when you press it is "totally mechanical" and requires no wires. It would be a great idea if you really like running full power through a switch connection that you mechanical break, which is never the best idea, as it will cause arcing ect. However that sort of switch is best left to gradeschool kids and their science fair project. A better system would be a solenoid, Moffat sorta thing, where a small trigger/reference voltage, trips a solid state switch allow for full current to pass. On another note, it is yet another pipe bomb waiting to happy. CR123 batts again, that come unprotected and create explosions like in the other thread here. The fact that they refer to them as "flash batts", which are unprotected because the protection circuit is in the flash, leads me to believe they are not protected, or the makers just doesn't know the difference. I would wait until someone that knows what they are doing, beyond machining, offers one of these things.
  6. Already done, the Solio and a PT
  7. But is it really true nicotine "is not good for you". From everything I've read, its about on par with caffine.. This might make a great topic on its own.. Is there any need to quit vaping one day, or is it the same and enjoying a coffee...
  8. You can't "force a batty to do more than"... To get the 6V you need 2 batts in parallel wireing (positive bat 1 to negative batt 2). This doubles the voltage in the circut. Series wireing (pos bat one to pos bat 2) with the 2 batts keeps the volts the same but double the lifespan. The batts that come with kits, like the 510, 801 ect all have a circut that protects the batt and keeps them from exploding due to over charge or a short, or near to it circut. The are correctly engineered, so there is very little danger. A mod without any consideration or understanding of the parts, is a great danger. When someone plays around with a mod, not knowing what they are doing, this can happen. YOU MUST HAVE PROTECTED BATTS!!!! The only case, and the reason why they sell Lithium ion batts unprotected is to replace one, such as in a 510/whatever, where the protection circuit is external to the batt. Batt is unprotected, BUT it is inline with a protection circut.
  9. I think any medical professional risk losing their licence for recomending a product that has not been studied and approved.
  10. Is there a list anywhere with all the RY# flavors? Or are the RY# flavors old school now?
  11. Thats not true at all about Canada. In Canada the nicotine is restricted. Health Canada (our FDA) issued a strong warning to stop the sale of them, but they really don't have any authority to do so, other than in regards to to nicotine. There is nothing illegal about the act of vaping.
