  1. Mr. Jaaxx had his last atty quit on him last night. So he got an old one that wasn't working, cleaned it, and it's puffing away now. He heated some Golden Grain (Everclear is another brand, 190 proof alcohol) for 20 seconds in the microwave till bubbling, then poured it over the atomizer, which was in a small glass container. He actually was doing several at a time, so he poured off the "dirty" alcohol and repeated the process a few times. He says he wouldn't have done that if he was just doing one, but with several, the alcohol was pretty funky. I don't think there is one right way, as many methods seem to work, but this is what works for us.
  2. (((((good vibes)))))) Keep us updated. I'll be wishing for a healthy & happy little guy.
  3. Not that I was ever a regular, but I haven't been posting much because of the holiday season.. kids were out of school, family gatherings, dinner with friends.. I bet that is the case with a lot of people. And I have a new hobby-- jewelry making-- which I tend to do during the time when I might normally post on a forum.
  4. One of my customers emailed asking if our 17g blunt needles will fit in the hole of an Ego XL cartomizer for refill purposes. I haven't the first clue, since we've never used or owned a carto. Anyone know about the compatibility of 17g needle and Ego XL hole?
  5. That must be the yummiest thing in the whole wide world. OMG. Quite literally makes me salivate to read it.
  6. I love food, just love it. And I like hearing about everybody's food plans! Pumpkin Cheesecake is my favorite food in the whole world. My birthday is in April, and it so happens that this past April, the U.S. was smack in the middle of a pumpkin shortage. Poor MrJaaxx went to 6 different grocery stores trying to find a can of pumpkin, and had to settle for sweet potato to make my birthday pie. Having someone from a different culture bring some food is ALWAYS fun! On the 4th of July I was in NC with my sister-in-law and her husband's family, and his family is from Puerto Rico. They all brought dishes and music. It was delicious and so much fun trying all the new things. Now I have to look up "pierogies." Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and my parents kinda messed up my routine this year. They are going to go somewhere fun, just a little overnight getaway thing. They are doing Christmas dinner though, so I suppose that is okay. We are going to my other sister-in-law's house this year, and we have been assigned corn on the cob. Mr. Jaaxx is actually really excited that we are only going to one house this year. Ooh, and also he is making a cake like his Mimi used to make. This will be the first year without Mimi (and without a big dinner at her house), so it will feel kind of special to have a Mimi cake around.
  7. I didn't witness you being grouchy, but know that we all have days like that and most of us probably get a bit grouchy then as well! I too work with the public, so I hear you loud and clear! The full moon had all our clients (at the law office) riled up. I am pretty sure every crazy person that we represent called us, as well as about a bazillion that we don't!
  8. I don't think so. To the best of my knowledge, they come in black, pink, titanium (which is sparkly gold, I didn't know that prior to getting one), and stainless steel, and white. Lanyard? Do tell!
  9. I received my 510 Riva on 9/29, and have used it daily (all day) every day since. I was thrilled when I initially tried it, and I am still absolutely loving this pretty little thing after a month of constant use. I switched to the LR atty that came with the unit pretty soon after I got it, simply because I had never tried one. I am still using the same LR atty, still getting beautiful plumes of vapor and excellent throat hit and flavor. No icky burning taste or anything like that. I do find that I have to refill/re-drip very often when using the LR atty, which is a fair trade-off for me for the slightly warmer vape. Besides, I constantly fiddle with any e-cig, so it very well may be that I mess with it more than is actually necessary. The only issue I have found is that liquid seems to condense on the outside of the atomizer/cart under the cone. It doesn't drip down the mouthpiece and into my mouth, and really doesn't cause any problem except that I am constantly removing the cone and wiping it in an OCD fashion. (Remember, I tend to fiddle.) In hopes of stopping this, I changed to an old-school mouthpiece that fits very tightly. I thought the liquid might be leaking from the seam where the atty and the mouthpiece meet. But it was still happening. I found that if I vape without the cone, this does not happen at all. My guess is that the cone covering the area allows for condensation. So while the cone does contribute to the unit's sleek look, I prefer to set it aside to avoid condensation on the outside of my atty/cart area and my obsessive need to wipe it clean. A battery is still lasting pretty much all day-- I have yet to see a decrease in vape-time per charge. Because of the way my schedule works, I always end up charging a totally discharged battery at night while I sleep, so I have not been able to see exactly how long it takes to fully charge. I'd like to time it, though, at least roughly, at some point, just to know. I do believe it takes more than 2 hours, but I'm not sure enough to pin it down to 3 or 4 at this point. Really this is a good thing-- it means that I haven't ever been too worried that one battery would conk out before the other was ready. It's been a worry-free little unit, actually. I am so impressed that when I saw a really good deal, I bought another for me (pink this time!) and one for MrJaaxx. I recommended one to my cousin who is interested in switching to vaping, and I feel confident about the recommendation.
  10. Everyone's different, and that's okay! I tend to use between 10-15ml per week. I notice that I use more liquid when vaping with an LR atty than with a standard one. (but I like it!)
  11. None in our liquids either. Right now there seems to be an all-out panic on another forum regarding this. But now is not the first time it has come to light-- Most of the suppliers that have been around for a while have been aware of this for a long time. There was kind of a panic on the big forum maybe around 2008 or so, maybe early 2009.. When we were choosing manufacturers, this was one of the things we made sure were NOT in the flavorings, as well as added sugars and oils. New liquid vendors spring up almost daily, though.. it certainly doesn't hurt to ask before buying. Frankly, I wouldn't want to vape the stuff when I can vape perfectly yummy liquid without it.
  12. Most of us probably were for the first few days! LOL
  13. I want to camp out with a bonfire and cows! I got a feeling Mr. Crab there was set up. There a bunch of these "you don't belong here" pictures, evidently it's the latest meme.
  14. This makes me laugh every time I see it..
