Hiya gang,

So, I finally received in my supplies to start using my new GGTB(which, by the way is AWESOME!) and I have a quick question about the attys y'all are using at 6v

The GGTB takes several different battery combos, and my first run was with a 14500 and a 901lr atty. I must say, I am really pleased with the lr901, particularly the air flow and the flavor. Works really great.

For my second test, I went to run 2 tenergy LiFePO4 batteries to try at 6v vaping. This is my first run at 6 volts, so I'm not too familiar with it yet. Since I have read that standard 901's aren't too great in the vapor production, I opted to get some adapters so I could run a standard joye 510.

The combo actually works great. Nice kick, good vapor production, and flavor is what I was expecting at 6v. I have noticed that after about 3 drags, the atty heats up quite a bit, and I haven't experienced this with the exception of chain vaping at 5v.

My question is this...What do you use at 6v for an atty, and is it common for a relatively quick increase in tempature at 6 volts? I just don't want to stress the atty or batteries more than needed.

Thanks for the help!

Hey Schlitz,

I was popping 510 attys like crazy on my SB at 6V until I got the hang of using it. You are right it heats up quickly. I had to learn to keep the atty lubed and not to chain vape it so much. I had to let the atty cool down a little. I haven't been vaping at 6V to much anymore. I kinda settled in the 4.5 - 5V range.

I was using the same batteries you have (Tenergy LiFePO4s) for 6V in my BSB with a Joye 510 atty (you're actually getting 5.2 to 5.4 volts under load). I was averaging about two weeks on at atty, and would occasionally pop one on the first hit. I started using my Joker AV in September pretty much full time and set it to 4.9 or 5v. Since then I've been getting 4 to 6 weeks on my attys.

On the BSB at 6V I did try a few different attys (HV atty, SLB higher ohm attys, BE112s, etc), but didn't really notice much difference in life.
