lithium batteries do not need to be discharged prior to charging. They do not get a battery memory like NiHi batteries do. it is actually better to not "fully discharge" lithium batteries because if their voltage goes too low they can be damaged beyond repair.

i've noticed things like this with lithium batteries before. Methinks the engineers (if it is engineers) writing these instructions need to take a battery materials class so they can learn the difference between different types of batteries.
