In the event you don't want to replace the spring, you can try stretching it out a bit more. That works for some. I think bcarter started having the problem, and it worked for him. But the spring is a common problem, and that's why have a replacement spring.

BTW, what version of the Vamo do you have? I know some places are selling as far back as V 2.

I had to stretch my spring once on my V3 after a series of unfortunate events that led to 4 broken drip tips and the need to buy 4 KPT2 bases since the drops bent the 510 threading on the bottom of the base. Ironically nothing has hurt this Vamo although I have pretty much gone back to standard EGO batteries anywhere but at home. Every unit is different but mine has been rock solid for almost 8 months now and has been put through some rough times lol.
