  1. Welcome to VT. I was wondering what the reason for not smoking with the medication. Just making sure it's not nicotine that the meds interact with. If so, e-cigs are not going to prevent you from intaking nicotine. I am medically inept, so forgive me if this is a silly thought. Either way, no harm in getting off the analogs. Lotsa great folks and good advise here. Best of luck.^^
  2. Just a thought... Get a carto and burn a lil' filler material purposefully. I know we all hate it, but it is as close to an analog as you will come with a pv. Then throw whatever tobacco flavor in and tell him to vape away. Best of luck.^^
  3. CE2's are only good for swapping in your tank mods.... My $0.02.
  4. I travel extensively for business, and have not noticed any adverse reaction to my vaping inside of domestic airport terminals. I will stealth vape in the lavatory during the flight (usually about halfway through it) if I cant't wait until we land, but really layovers and arriving early enough to make sure I get through security without missing my flight are the worst times for me. It is tough to fly anywhere in the US today direct that is more than a 3-4 hour flight anyways, so it is usually not much of an issue. I do not see these rules changing to accommodate vapers, and don't know that they should. Space is very tight on a commercial flight. I probably wouldn't vape in my seat even if I could. Also of interest, I flew on Turkish Air over the summer, and they were totally ok with me vaping, as long as I went into the bathroom to do it. It was business class though, and a 12 hour flight.
  5. Patriot Range used to make a Double Apple Shisha. I don't know if it is still around. I haven't tried it (the juice) so Ican't speak to how closely the flavor resembles the tobacco. I have smoked the tobacco though... Classic and great. Now that I think about it, I may order some for myself if I can find it.
  6. Welcome to the forum. And don't worry. Even the most tech savvy of us had that moment of dread when we first opened our first kit and thought, "What have I gotten myself into?" That feeling will pass quickly, and the folks around here can help you greatly.
  7. I have the Madvapes 5V, non VV... It was my first mod, and it has been going strong for almost 8 months on the the 2 sets of 14550s I ordered from them as well. Sorry you got the wrong box at first, but those guys are tip top in the customer service department, in my opinion, and everything I get from them has been excellent quality so far. (Though I do have to steep the TV juices before they are really good, imho.) 5V and the 3.2 ohm cartos are what I use, and I get a nice warm hit that keeps me coming back. Happy vaping.^^
  8. Heya Tim. Whereabouts in NC are you? Do you go to Madvapes? I have not been to their new retail place yet, but used to go to the werehouse all the time. Great bunch of folks. Anyways, I am always looking for a local supplier, but I get around quite a bit travelling for work. (This lets me visit all kinds of good spots...) Oh, and congratz on not having to drip & drive anymore. I know I will feel safer on the road now.^^
  9. Welcome to VT. And congratz on the decision to toss the analogs. This is the most helpful forum I have been on, so if you have any questions, just holler.
  10. Man I dunno what I am vaping then, cuz a can hardly choke down a good hit off of my latest procurement from VR without almost losing my lung... I ordered a bottle of Pumpkicinno (thanks for a great flavor combo juliery^^) and a Ruby Relaxer... Both 36 mg, 60/40, and aggressive TH... They are both great tasting, but the Ruby Relaxer, (while starting smooth and sweet,) usually ends up sending me into hacking fits... I have tried 100% PG and 100% VG (Boba's Bounty is still a fav, but let's face it... no TH...) I am beginning to become very leery of any juice reviews based on the simple fact that taste is SOOO subjective. And apparently, so is the tickle (or flamethrower) at the back of your throat... YMMV indeed.^^
  11. Man I am hearing horror stories about PTs in general lately (the 510s and the eGo)... Maybe it's just because I am looking into one for the house that I am noticing them more. Sorry bout your battery man.^^
  12. Oh my, what an auspicious occasion... Congratulations are truly in order. I remember after my first post, you were the first one who replied. You put so much out there for this community. We will have a hard time reciprocating. Folks like you are the reason that this group is as special as it is. Stay true to yourself and again, thank you and congratz.^^ Oh and give that lil' angel of yours a treat for me.
  13. My DDD = Wifey... She also doesn't vape and secretly resents me for asking her to drip for me. I tell her it's a safety issue, and she wouldn't want me jeopardizing the family's safety for something as silly as dripping some juice into my atty... She to told me to invest in some cartos. She's probably right.
  14. Hi Alexandria182002... Just wanted to chime in about the Riva. A starter kit from Liberty-Flights.com is $29.99. (The Riva Lite kit w/20% off coupon.) This includes two batteries two atomizers, a cone (cosmetic), a usb charger, and I believe 10 empty cartridges. Best price I have found so far. Make sure you click on the US site (and not the UK) and click fore your 20% off. They sell juice there as well, but sounds like vaporrenu.com has a bit better price. (Although you can probably get off almost as cheap with not paying an extra shipping fee.) Either way, congratulations on taking steps to live a more healthy lifestyle. And once the initial investment is out of the way, I believe you will find vaping to be less expensive than smoking. Good luck and let us know how it's going, and if you have any other questions, just ask.^^
  15. Ordered my Riva kit at the end of January and had great shipping and service from the San Diego facility. Received the items in two days (East Coast) and everything was well packaged and as advertised. Been vaping on the batteries for the past 3 weeks with no issues. Well yesterday as I was swapping batteries the dead battery would not charge. (Blue LED lit up but charger light remained green, instead of turning red as it normally does.) I tried to vape with it again, thinking I mixed up the batteries. No dice. The other battery was charged and so I used it for about half the day, then stuck it on the charger to make sure it wasn't the charger at fault. The other battery charged fine to full (tested with a meter.) So I figured I had a bad battery, and this morning e-mailed L-F for a RMA#. (I checked the site and found the batteries carried a 90 day warranty) but I got no response by this evening I was starting to get a little concerned. (I know there is always a chance when you get a great deal from a company you never used before.) Well I am a bit impatient and so decided to give them a ring. Talked to Justin who told me he was shipping a battery out to me immediately. The website states that you can only get pre-return if you have had the item for less than 14 days.(Which I exceeded.) He said that he'd send an RMA label with the package and I could just send the old battery back after I got the replacement. This was great news to me because I was not looking forward to only having one battery(well plus the 510s, but that would be an emergency.) I am looking forward to seeing how long this return takes, and the longevity of this other battery, and the replacement. I am not totally convinced that these units are of the same build standard I was expecting, as the cost was very low compared to some of the other sites I visited. So far, however, I have been very impressed with all of the customer srvice I received from L-F. (Including the 10 minutes Justin took to explain to me the difference between the old and new style 750mAh batteries.) It is clear to me that their customer service personnel aren't just punching a clock, and I hope I can continue to be impressed by them long into the future.
  16. Pure VG juices tend to go down a bit smoother to me. I only vape 24 mg, so I do not know if a higher/lower nic level affects TH or not. My pure PG juices are tough for me first thing in the morning. Individual taste and the actual flavor comes into play quite a bit as well. As caseace79 stated AVE has excellent TH for 100% VG. (And spectacular flavors to boot.^^)
  17. Yes the LR atties get pretty warm. (I don't use a PT and mine gets surprisingly warm, as does the liquid inside... mmmm ) I hear they are more finicky then a standard resistance, but I have been vaping away on mine for the past two weeks and no problems so far. I do make sure not to try to take ultra long draws (usually not more than 4-5 seconds.) I also haven't "cleaned" it yet. I just flip it upside down on a paper towel before bed. (And I vape on some pretty thick juices.) Did you order extras? They will eventually pop and I tried going back to a standard 510 (a buddy's to try a new juice) and ended up telling him to just drip me some on my atty because I could't get the "full" effect. Vaping has taken on a new dimension for me. Good luck.^^
  18. In my VERY limited experience, PG juices tend to have more throat hit, while total VG juices tend to be smoother and produce more vapor. (They are also thicker, and can gunk up your atomizers.) This is also not always true, and depend on the flavor and manufacturer. Taste in juice is so subjective, that I find it hard to make any recommendations without saying it's just good.... Vape it... And if you don't like it... Send me your leftovers. Best in my opinion to find a supplier or two who you know are reputable and then try different flavors till you come across several you enjoy. I have some VG the house for mixing, and am waiting on some nic and will soon try my hand at DIY liquid. But I don't know how that little science experiment will turn out. All that said, I like Dekang juices (don't hate... they are really good and cheap) and eliquidplant as well as Alien Vision.
  19. Not at all. My 510 came with a 100 mA usb charger that the Riva (750 mAh non-SE) screws into flawlessly. It does not charge as quickly as with the Riva usb charger, (at 420 mA) but it definitely does the trick. I do not have any experience with a Joye or Tornado battery, so I cannot speak to the extender issues. (I thought the two were the same, minus the button and a couple of other minor cosmetic differences though.) I am intrigued now.
  20. Well I am at 22 days analog free and as I sit here listening to Okkervil River croon the wee hours of the morning away, vaping on the decadence of Boba's Bounty from AVE (and may the good Lord in Heaven shine forever on Ben), I cannot imagine lighting up one of the over 200 nasty analogs currently in my house. I dunno if I am just lucky, or was just that ready to quit, but I have not had a single craving since the day I picked up my first 510. (Hopefully they won't ever come, 'cuz I don't miss them... And don't want to start.) That being said, everyone is different. And true, no one (at least no one here) is going to think any differently of you if you "break down" and smoke a cigarette. Best to be as true to yourself as you can be, and not worry about what everyone else thinks, anyways. Btw, chocolate goes great with Boba's.... Actually, pretty much everything does.^^
  21. I am confused now... I charge my Riva 750 mAh battery with my standard 510 (stick) charger all the time. The threads are the same size. (You are not supposed to charge a stick type 510 battery with the eGo charger due to the higher charge rate, but I was not aware that the reverse was true.) Elucidate, please.
  22. Man I have never heard of steeping e liquid before, and I am all sorts of turned off by the thought. If I pay good money for a juice, I would full on expect it to come ready to vape. If I wanted to "steep" or cure any of my flavors, I'd mix my own juice. Two thumbs down...
