  1. $150.00, In my opinion, is too much to pay for a starter kit. The best starter kit on the market would be the Joye Ego, which you can get here at Vapor Talk Store for about $70.00. Here is the link: http://www.vaportalkstore.com/products/Joye-eGo.html

Great battery life (I can get 6-8 hours out of a charge but I am an extremely heavy vaper). The starter kit comes with two batteries, two atomizers, two cones, five pre-filled cartridges (standard tobacco flavor), a wall charger, and a USB charger and a couple of cone covers. If you want the ability to use the PV while charging, you could also order the pass-through battery, which hooks directly up to a USB port to charge. If you're not interested in dripping frequently, you could always purchase cartos (the atomizer and the cartridge in one unit) or the Ego Tank, which holds more liquid and feeds the atomizer, but I find direct dripping produces the best flavor and vaper.

This was the kit I ordered to begin with based off of recommendations from this forum and I had quit smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes within a week of receiving it. It's a bit of trial and error at first in finding the right juice and the right setup for you, but everything I have mentioned is available here at the Vapor Talk Store with the exception of the Ego Tank.

  2. My head is hanging in shame LOL. I was hanging with my friends back home on friday after a long nite of drinking and thought what the hell, I took 1 hit. Wow there is nothing redeeming anymore. My "sinbacco" mix is way better than the real thing. I guess I just had to do it once. Thank god once is enough.

Darn it, do I need to change my counter? I'd hate to be a cheater.

No way, leave the tracker as it is! If nothing else, you've been reminded of how great vaping tastes compared to smoking.

  3. I've had some flavors from different suppliers that I just didn't care for and was really disappointed with. I ended up mixing them with a few drops of some of the stuff that I knew I loved and it makes a big difference. Makes unusable juices usable again. It was especially good with some 30 ml 100% vg juices that didn't have much taste to begin with. Add a little VTS PG and voila: loads of vapor and great taste. There were a few trial and error disasters and a few tastes that I just couldn't remove from my atty's (and that embedded themselves on my brain stem), but for the most part, it worked out pretty good and I won't have to feel that I wasted my money on juice I didn't like.

  4. i also had one my third day into vapeing with my husband, my banner actually reflects that date and not the date i got my eGo and yes it was icky, but the worst part is sometimes my husband comes over to talk to me and i am totally sickened by how he smells, that smell lingering on his breath... yuck

Me too, me too (well, not your husband, but you know what I mean). I actually got my wife to promise to try and quit if I bought her a pink Ego. I can just imagine how that's going to go for me when one of my black Ego batteries dies and I'm vaping a pinky at work. ^_^

  5. If you're looking for a decent, two piece set that doesn't involve juices, I would recommend the Riva with pre-filled cartomizers. You can get them at Libertyflights.com The starter kit comes with two batteries and two atomizers, along with 5 pre-filled cartridges with standard tobacco flavor. You will need to find the flavor that works for you, but that should satisfy your parameters. The only thing you will ever need to do is ensure you have an adequate stock of pre-filled cartomizers and keep your spare battery charging (I would recommend purchasing a spare battery and charger with your intitial purchase also). It will probably be quite a bit more expensive than buying blank atomizers and juice for what it's worth, but if that's not an issue, there you go. The length of the cartomizer will vary greatly on your vaping habits. Some on the forums go through several per day. I personally don't use cartos because I prefer the taste of direct dripping, but many of my fellow vapers love them.

  6. def the ego tank system but for menthol flavor I would highly recommend getting cool rush I think its 18 mg and I am satisfied with it. it is my go to vape when im jonesing for a smoke and it fixes it. I still have not found a diff flavor that really does it for me I smoked marlboro milds for years and this comes close.. good luck..

Who makes cool rush? Always interested in finding a new menthol flavor.

  7. I got several flavors in pure VG from Liberty Flights, in 8mg and 14mg. Are the flavors just weaker because it's pure VG, or low nic? I would like a really strong flavor, but I'm not quite ready to start mixing my own yet. Also, I'm not sure how you order the PG/VG mixes. On LF they had pure VG and PG, but no mixes that I could see. I'm using an Ego Tank and I've seen alot of people say VG clogs the atty's faster, so I'd like a mix. Soo.. anybody know of a place that sells pg/vg mixes with really good, strong flavor? :unworthy:

Vapor Renu allows you to customize your flavors, your throat hit, and your VG/PG ratios. Jason is a good guy too.

  8. I agree with everyone else that the Ego is best value out there to start with. I love mine. I prefer LR atty's, but to each his own. I was also a menthol smoker and the Mentha (24mg) from the Vapor Talk Store is the best I've tried. It's currently out of stock, but when you get the chance, pick some up.
