  1. 40A AWT 18650s. 3.7V 3000 mah I've only had them since December. I have two sets that I swap out, so they haven't been continuously used every day.

I use my Aspire Cleito with .4 ohm coils at 45 watts. Playboy tank with .5 coils between 50 and 70 watts. And my Velocity RDA at around a .2 between 70 and 100 watts.

  2. I love my Snow Wolf. But lately and more frequently I've been having a drop in voltage.

I'm not talking about the initial battery ramp up when you turn the mod on or let it sit for a while.

In Power Mode (Wattage), I will hold the fire button to take a drag. I will get full voltage, then midway through the inhale, the voltage will drop off as if I let go of the button, then it will come back up. Yes I'm holding the button down all the way.

I never use Temp Control. Only use it in wattage mode with my tanks and RDAs and it always does this.

Its really starting to annoy me. Any reason for this?

Awesome. I my issue just started and I didn't want to buy a whole new set up or new batteries if it was just the juice. So I have new juice with lower VG waiting on me at home. I'm gonna try a new coil with it too. It's been a hassle. I went through 2 packs of coils ( all .5 ohm) and still having trouble. Was gonna order new batteries next. But thank you!

Make sure and prime the juice holes a bit with the new coil and let it sit for about 5 minutes. With that 0.5 you will been fine between 30-40 watts.

Ever figure out the problem? Same thing is happening to me but I have a uwell crown tank and an eleaf istick 100w.

Yes it ended up being the VG in the juice. Especially with subtanks you have to be conscious of the PG and PG ratio because the juice holes can't keep up sometimes. Uwell crown could probably take a higher VG but don't crank up the wattage too much. It's all just experimentation

  5. have you tried adjusting your airflow to a tighter draw? The more open it is you lose that vacuum, the more closed off pulls it into your cotton better and you get a little bit better flavor.ive never run into this issue with the Atlantis so I'm kind of stumped on this one

The problem is that I love the open airflow for huge lung hits. The weird thing is, some of my other 50/50 mixes have a lot better viscosity and I don't get any dry hits.

  6. I have Aspire Atlantis, .5 ohm coils running 30 watts on a box mod.

I noticed my VG juice is so thick, it wont saturate the cotton in the coil. I can't even suck it up with the squeeze thing that comes with the bottle.

It's giving me bad dry hits. I'm not a noob with priming the coil or anything, I just noticed with some of my higher VG juices and even some 50/50 mixes (The Standard: Thumper). How can I counter this problem??

  7. That is pretty standard.  Mine does that. It doesn't seem to do it that long, but it does do it.

I am really not sure if subohming is the problem, but it does come with a few more challenges.  I think the Atlantis and the .5 ohm will work fine, many people like it.  I think a mod with more control, not necessarily bigger would help.  You could start at 20 watts or so and work up.  35+ like you have with the fresh battery could be part of your problem.

It is still really confusing me why it worked and now it doesn't.

Yeah I'm not sure whether to buy a new battery or a new tank or some new coils.

  8. I understand what you are saying.  I really enjoy the Hobby.  To date my favorite tank is the SubTank mini, but like everything in vaping it is subjective.  I switch between it and the SauceCode.  I am doing straight lung hits so lots of air, and lots of juice.  The result is quite a bit of cloud, but it isn't the objective.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but after a couple disgusting hits, vapor continues to seep out of the tip for a good 10 seconds. Then if you shake or move the pen, even more vapor comes out. This never used to happen.

Is the fact that this is sub ohming one of the reasons I'm having problems? Or could I continue to use my Atlantis/.5 ohm coil combo just on a bigger mod battery?

  9. How long have you been at it?

The Subtank Mini in my opinion is a better starter tank than an Atlantis, just because you have the choice of a 1.2/1.5 ohm coil, a .5 ohm coil, and a rebuildable section should you want to go into that.

To be honest, I know a fair amount about vaping and building only because I've just picked up the knowledge along the way. But all I really want is some good cloud (not a TON), good taste, and something that is durable and will last a while on a charge. I'm not that picky, I really only vape because I'm bored.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but after a couple disgusting hits, vapor continues to seep out of the tip for a good 10 seconds. Then if you shake or move the pen, even more vapor comes out. This never used to happen.

  10. At this point I don't know, do you have any backup batteries? most people have backups. I have 2 evics, 2 Kbox minis, and a half a dozen evods. A lot of people have backups for their backups. I can't see going without vaping, it would be like torture. Do you have any Vape stores near you?

Nearest store is 2 hours away. This might give me an excuse to shy away from sub ohming. I like the vapor output but I don't like how fast I burn through juice. I might go for the iTaste 134 and get a backup battery and tank.

  11. Did you ever use a tank on your battery that had more than a 1.0ohm coil? The reason I ask is your battery is supposed to run a coil between .3 and 1 ohm, and running a coil over 1.0 ohm might damage the circuit. Just a thought.

I've never bought anything separate than what came in the box since I've only had it 4 months. All of the coils are 0.5 ohms

I do wish you had something else to try it on.  A variable voltage or something to see if lower wattage would make a difference.  If the mod truly acts as a "protected" mechanical mod, and had no boost circuitry, I do not see how that could be your problem.  Remember energy is drawn from your battery, not pushed from your battery.  The only variable you have to change your watts on a mechanical mod is to change the ohms of the coil.  The higher the ohms the lower the wattage (at the same voltage).  This is why a lower ohm coil generally puts out more heat/vapor on a mechanical.  The most your battery can put out is 4.2 volts for a very short while it will soon drop with use.

If it worked fine before I can not imagine what has changed.  I have looked into the CF and can't find any information on it having any voltage/wattage control, except to limit for protection, which with your combination (battery/coil) you should not be close to.  Do you have a backup, or a buddy who would let you test your tank on his/her mod?  Another possible way to test is to take one of your ruined coils and burn it for a bit in steps to try to run your battery down a bit and see if you are overpowering it.  The nominal voltage for an 18650 is 3.7 volts which gets you down to 27 watts.  The initial 35 watts when the battery is fresh could be enough to  burn a fresh coil.

I'm sorry I am not more help, just grasping at straws here!

You are right it has no voltage or wattage control. Right after a fresh charge, it is easy to tell the voltage drops after about 5 hits and there's no way to change it. Since I cannot alter the wattage or voltage, wouldn't that mean the battery couldn't possibly be the issue? Or do they just simply go bad sometimes?

  12. Just a thought.  Have you dumped your tank, and cleaned it?  I would also look at the connections from the atomizer to the pin and make sure they are clean, and have no burned spots on the pin and the insulator in the bottom.  With a .5 ohm coil on a freshly charged 4.2 v battery assuming it has no sag and no major resistance problems you should be only drawing a hair over 35 watts.  The Atlantis coils should handle that fine if the juice can handle it.  You might try dumping, cleaning, then priming a new coil with a few drops into the cotton of the coil, fill the tank, let it sit for a few minutes, pull a few draws without hitting the button.  You should feel a bit of moisture from the unburned juice (without firing it) or possibly hear a bit of gurgling.  Now fire it while drawing through it.  Firing it while not drawing can cause you to burn a cotton as the air helps to cool it.

This is about all I can think of, unless you got a new batch of juice, and it is possibly mixed wrong...

I used a BRAND NEW Atlantis tank and got the same result. Atomizer/pin connection looks fine. I always do my coil ritual where I drip some juice on the cotton first. And this time I even let the coil saturate for 30 minutes. Then I do a few dry pulls before hitting the button. And I'm always cautious of hitting the button without drawing.

Seriously I'm doing nothing wrong here and I got the same awful burn taste on two different tanks. Do I need a new battery?

  13. I have the Aspire Atlantis tank with the CF Sub Ohm Battery. Straight out of the box, all stock.

I started getting this funny taste. A little burn but not too bad. I figured the coil needed replacement so I threw a new one in. I let it prime for about 30 minutes. Did a few air fires before hitting the coil. After about 2 hits, this awful burnt taste came in, twice as bad as before I replaced the coil.

I swapped out three more coils and got the same result. I cleaned out the air passageways in the pen and shook up the liquid real good.

Finally as a last resort, I changed the TANK. Put a new coil in the new tank and still an awful burnt taste. I even tried an old coil to see if maybe every single one of my coils was bad.

I know its not my liquid because I've been using Classified Indulge for a long time and its never given me issues.

    What could it be???
