Well its been over a week since any analogs and i am making great strides of progress. The greatest change i can see is a mental one. I knew that smoking and inhaling cigars was not healthy by any stretch, but i just could not quit. I think after my dad had passed in 07 they became a "crutch" of sorts to cope with my anxiety. They just made the anxiety worse. I was to the point that if i felt something strange i would go look it up on google to see what it could be. I guess my dad having a heart attack set my mind that way and I have no clue why. But since making the choice to vape to quit was the greatest choice i have ever made. The anxiety is mostly gone along with the little pains i used to get and be worried about. My smell and taste have mostly returned, and i find that i am pushing myself harder in training. I have not been coughing as much as i thought i would be. I figured i would be hacking things up, but im not. I recently had a check up and the doc found nothing wrong with my lungs so i guess that's a good thing. Last month my fire dept verified that we are doing a 5k run for a fund raiser. When the decision was made i was just going to work a booth or hand out water to the runners. Since quitting smoking i am starting to walk/jog on a daily basis. It is my goal to cross the finish line of that race no matter if i have to walk/jog the entire length. Quitting smoking and going to vaping has given me the inspiration to prove to myself that i can do more than i believe I can. I cant thank all the members here enough for the great advise that made me take the plunge to better health. I know this is one big rant for an update and im sorry about that, but my wife wants nothing to do with the vaping and told me that I am not allowed to spend any more money on it. I am a firm believer that it is easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. Besides what price can you put on someone to give them better health.

Ok. Thanks. I tried cleaning out the tank again and figured I was not going to waste good flavored juice on a burned coil I went back to the mt dew. Wouldnt you know it does not taste burned in the slightest. Tastes better than before. Now im confused.

Thanks for the info. I think I might get a bundle and see if I can get some wire from ebay and make my own replacements. Do i have to get white? Im electronics savvy so it should not be too hard. I already have the meters to test them. I think I can pull apart my novas wick portion. I just have to wait for new heads. Not going to destroy my only one.

I took it apart and the wicks are not too bad, but the coil is gunked up. I dont know if i can soak this in rubbing alcohol or something similar because i dont have any vodka. I have rum but i dont think that would work. Just to edit here. I looked at some videos about how to clean all the gunk off your coil and decided to do a dry burn run and risk it. Keep in mind I do not have anything extra yet, only ordered it today . I kinda scraped the coils with a toothpick to see what was going on and oh my god the black crud that came off the coil was unbelievable. I slowly started to heat the coil with 3 sec on, 3 sec off until it started glowing red. The smell that came off was as bad as the taste. I rinsed it with water and did it one more time just to make sure everything was gone. I refilled with cherry and let it sit for about 15 min to get the wicks taken care of. I think the wicks are a gonner because the taste is a ton better, but i still get the burned aftertaste. I guess I will just have to wait until my new stuff gets here to see what the cherry really tastes like. I ended up buying an mt3 from VT store. I hope it comes with all the parts to run with.

I figured I would ask. I changed the tank over to cherry from mt dew. I cleaned the wicks and such but everything tastes burnt. How can I correct this on a vivi nova 10?

Just arrived was my order from ec-blend. I ordered a 30ml bottle of cherry flavored. I hope that it does not make me sick because i accidentally ordered 12mg instead of 6mg. I am also used to the 80/20 mix of my mountain dew flavor and got a 50/50 this time to hopefully give me a little more vapor. they also sent me 2 little sample bottles of 0mg dragon flavors. Here is hoping i don't get sick from this. Just to edit. I cleaned out my nova and filled with the new cherry. this stuff is much much thicker juice than the 80/20. I think i will let the wicks soak this up a little before trying.

I originally got my equipment from govista to get the cheaper price to start with. I asked to try some flavors and he sent me those. Not sure about the sour though. I thought somewhere I read that the acid in the flavor will degrade the tank.

That is a huge order. I just got some samples of sour berry, watermelon, and green apple. So far the apple tastes pretty good.

Im just really confused between the difference of a cartomizer and a clearomizer. I was looking at a kranger protank but really have no clue what i am doing. I guess i am looking for something that will be cost effective to have spare parts because my wife is already getting on me that I stopped smoking cigars and started doing this and spending more money and asking why i just cant quit cold turkey like her friends did. Ugh

Thank you so much. I will probably change tanks one day but im happy with it right now. Im still trying to learn all the lingo and what part is what. The plac3 I got the tank said it is a nova v10 btw. Thats probably why I cant find parts.

The tank comes off the battery easily. It just seems the knurled part on the bottom of the tank is two pieces. Maybe I need a better tank.

This is the setup that i picked up. I know the tank is a vivi nova and its an ego type battery. I cant seem to find parts for it. What you see is all I have, no spares of anything. I tried cleaning it today and how the bottom pieces seem separated I just cannot get them apart. Anyone have any insight? Thanks

I have tried for a few days now to get the fbfree coupon to work on vape dudes website and it does not work for me. Anyone had this work for them?

Thanks LV and you are welcome. One thing i am throwing around in my mind is mixing my own juice. I know there are literally thousands of places to get the ingredients from, but where is reputable. It seems like it would be cheaper to mix them than to order them pre mixed. I can get a handful of ml syringes from the ambulance no problem , but getting the stuff to make it is the confusing part.

Well I am going on day 4 and have noticed a few things. Firstly my taste and sense of smell have gotten way better. My tongue no longer has that film on it from smoking. I visited my moms house and she still smokes. The smell from the analogs almost made me physically ill. I don't think i could ever have another analog again which is a good thing.

No problem to both of you. I didnt expect praise but it feels good to know that someone cares about what we do. One thing i thought of this morning. Is there a smaller compact version besides the cigarette looking ones that can take a beating? The reason I ask is i would like to see about getting one to keep in my gear at the station. Instead of me running around the house getting things together if i get a call and possibly forgetting stuff just have one there already. I know if it was in my pocket and I went into a fire its a gonner. I can see temps ranging from 90-550 in a matter of seconds.

I dont really get those "OMG i have to have a smoke or im gonna die" kind of cravings. I am not sure if the higher nic level would really do anything. I dont want to get the levels in my system higher because it would probably take longer to quit down to 0. Then again im just starting and really have no idea what im doing lol. My wife did not know that i smoked and i have no idea how she did not find out over the years. I was able to go a week being sick and not have one. The only times i would crave would be at parties or the bar. I will go to the vapor room and check out what they have.

Thank you Tameiki for the kind words. I am a volunteer and I dont get paid. I do it for the fact that I love helping people. It takes a certain kind of crazy to run into a burning building while everyone is running out. I have taken hundreds of classes in my career and training is never over. You have to take the new kids under your wing so they dont get themselves killed. Right now i purchased mountain dew flavor from govista. I plan on canceling the plan because its way too expensive for the juice, i mainly did it for the cheaper cost of the ego. The juice is currently 80/20 which does not really fit me. I think in the morning in going to order myself some cinnamon roll from vapordude with a 50/50 mix. The current nic level in it is 6mg. I think i may up it to either 10 or 11 because im finding that i am vaping a lot during the day. I went thru 2 mils all day. I know that is probably not a lot, but im not sure where i would put myself. By the way I was inhaling the cigars. It was a bad move and became habit.

I hope this thread does not bother anyone due to me being new here, and totally a newbie to vaping. I would put this on my facebook too, but nobody really cares or even knows what vaping is. I am have been a firefighter for the last 13 years and have noticed that smoking cigars has really had an impact on my performance and health. The very knowledgeable and kind members here gave me the courage and insight to drop them altogether and start vaping. I will post some milestones here to kind of keep a record for myself in a way and get feedback from the members here. The only thing im starting to notice after vaping for the first 24 or so hours is that i am starting to cough a little and have to clear my throat more. I am not sure if it is the vapor doing this to me or the fact that my throat may be irritated from the cigars and trying to clear something out.

I was wondering why i was not getting the amount of think vapor that i have seen on videos and such. The bottle i ordered was 80/20. I guess i should go and find something i like that is 50/50. I am finding myself closing one of the holes to get a better draw and vapor.

I am really thinking i enjoy vaping more than having a stinky black and mild in my hand. No smoke coming back and stinging your eyes plus i can vape around other people and not worry about the embarrassment of the smell. I just came back from a fire call and took it with me. I went in with a bottle on in the house and it felt like my lungs were lighter somehow. I know its just been over 24 hours since my last cigar. Maybe its all in my mind, or i just really want this to work. I know it will take time for my lungs to heal especially from inhaling non filtered cigars. I cant thank everyone enough for the awesome advise that I have been given. Maybe I will make a thread of my travels thru quitting and how i feel and perform weekly, who knows. I just know that this is not a step backwards from smoking, its a clean step forward to better health and well being. Thank you all again. Just to edit. It looks like i went thru about 2mil of fluid today. How much fluid does anyone else go thru. I just dont want to overdo it.

I must say that after using this a few times today I have no want to pick up a cigar. I probably could have gone with the 12mg bottle. I find im taking a few draws and shutting it off then wanting more about 30 min later. Im sure ill figure things out with the help of all the very wise members here. Thank you all for the advise. I know there are many vendors of the liquid, but who should I go with? Thanks

I figured I would only take a draw or two when a feeling hit me. I tried last night to count how many times i took a draw on a cigar and it was about 15 or so. I always drink a ton of water so that is not a problem. I think if i take the same amount of draws as normal with a lower nic level i should be ok. Is that true?

Just got my kit delivered. Had my last cigar last night. Lets get some progress done.
