Hi, That's a very excellent point especially for international mixes and higher production e-liquid manufacturing facilities I'm sure we could all rattle off a few that we know batch produce. You would be surprised though, how many vendors actually do still mix up orders on demand the old fashioned way. Once the recipes are formulated combining them only takes a few minutes for a properly organized lab setup its just math and good measuring techniques. The recipes on the other hand take a long time to perfect and often evolve over time tweaking it to meet a larger group of users because the tastes are so subjective. You can usually tell who the on demand suppliers are because they will give you greater options such as flavor percentages, PG/VG ratios, Sweetener/ no Sweetener or may offer only one or two sizes.

Hi a little more on steeping from a technical perspective.. Steeping is the process of allowing the concentrated flavors to mix or bind with the propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin carriers and other ingredients contained in e-liquid. There are many so called methods to this(could take a whole topic), but simple frequent shaking and letting is sit for few days is all that is really required. This seems to apply mostly, to mixes with a higher vegetable glycerin content. Since vegetable glycerin, which is super thick and is not the typical flavor carrier, can take a bit of time to blend with the flavor concentrates used in e-liquids. We are high VG users and we also can see (color changes) and taste a difference after a few days when it actually peaks. Propylene glycol is the more popular carrier used for flavor concentrates so these do not seem to need steeping as much since the flavors are already partially blended to begin with. If you are unsure I would ask the manufacturer of the e-liquid you are buying since they have a working knowledge of how it performs and when it peaks. If your a do it yourselfer your trial and error has already figured a lot of this stuff out. As a side note, I would not use high VG e-liquid mixes that are more then a few weeks old, most of the ingredients have a shelf life of six months or more so it should be ok technically. It just does not taste as good after a while because some e-liquids continue to steep and become too strong in my opinion.

You usually specify the VG to PG blend based on the throat hit, taste and other related factors but the blend should also be considered based on the device you are intending to use it with. Typically, higher VG concentrations are going to work better with Direct Dripping into atomizers, empty cartomizers and the eGo-c and eCab tanks seem to handle it ok too. As far as clearomizers or other wicking type devices you should stick with higher pg concentrations 50/50 70vg/30pg etc for the reasons Tameiki explained above with the wicking and burnt taste issues.

I agree with VIVI nova too. As a side note you should be aware there are different ones. Generally there is the Genuine Vision Brand and then all the knockoffs. I have used both and both work fine, but when buying replacement coils there is a difference and ussually they are not interchangeable

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
ECPMIKE replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
That seems to be a nice kit for the money the batteries alone are near $50 -
I kinda am liking the very simple Joyetech eGo-T battery mod. Get a spare head, several 18650 batteries and a Trustfire charger, also your eGo-C charger will work for this mod as well just will take longer. If you are still using the eGo-C cartridges, atomizers the whole eGo-C atomizer body works with it too. You can also use just about everything else vivi nova, clearomizers, cartomizers etc, etc. The best thing about it is the battery life which is excellent to the point its possible to get several days between charges. The price for the mod is about the same as the eGo Twist batteries with twice the battery life making it a good value.

I would agree they are very similar, the eGo, Vamo, Bamboo or what ever they are calling it this week is a pretty solid device, the buttons are a little different as is the display, but the function is about the same. I am kind partial to the vamo as its a more recent device and I own one. I am not sure but i believe only the Vamo breaks down to a smaller size using one battery which is a nice feature.

We use the Bauways for testing e-liquid they seem to hold up good and come with the empty cartridge so you don't need a drip tip if you don't want buy that. Cleaning them is a whole other topic but best method we found was just add a little DIY PG to them and blow it through several times. If your testing you'll find some flavors don't like to leave so you will be using several of them i.e. 1 for menthol, 1 for coffee's , chocolates etc, and so on so it can get a little expensive which makes cleaning them important.

This was happening with my wife and she wound up having to go with a higher VG mix nearly 100% and reduced the nicotine levels below 12mg. She pays the price in frequent ruined clearomisers and vivi novas so be warned. Since you can tolerate pg try to find a 70vg/30pg mix you like. Many folks feel that is a good balance for most devices. Reducing the nicotine helped her the most as she is down to 6mg with no sore throats any more at around 90vg/10pg mix.

Would anyone here recommend this set up?

You also have to watch with the coils not all coils work in all Vivi Novas if they are Vision make sure to use Vision Replacements -

Hello, I also recommend them , they are a lot like typical vision ce4 clearomizers which are very popular too except hold more liquid. Some say the vapor is a bit cooler but with more taste. However, I do recommend you use them only with minimum 70%/30%VG-PG or even better 50/50 mixes because it is a wicking type system and the VG tends to absorb too slow into the wicks and you wind up with a burnt taste when it dosen't get enough or your vaping too fast. Lower Ohms = Hotter coil , Hotter Vape, More throat Hit. Standard for 3.7 volts would be 2.4ohm but its personal preference. 2.8, 3.2 are good for the higher voltages -
Thank You, nice to meet you

Hello everyone just wanted to introduce myself My name is Mike and my wife is Lisa A Little History about us: We have been selling e-cigarettes and our own e-liquid brand locally for some time now in the NJ area. We only recently expanded to include a web site presence(ecigsplus.com) in the hopes of reaching all the awesome vapors out there across the country. Both my wife and I were 25+ year smokers and are no longer smokers thanks to ecigs. We saw the helpful potential of ecigs and thought like many others to give a go at it and help others too.. Our store is a little sparse but its new so its to be expected and will improve over time. If we can do anything to help this community in anyway let us know....
