  1. I guess I missed the warnings on products I wasn't using... lol

Maybe there are warnings regarding the use of electronic cigarettes and analogs together... I guess I missed those too. I haven't really found anything specifically relating to the use of e cigs and analogs in conjunction with one another. Maybe becuase e cigs are so new, there are hardly any cases in this manner... So I guess you can just learn from me, the easy way... since I learned the hard way.

In my honest opinion, I felt I was ill-advised of any kind of toxious harm towrds the body in relation to Electronic Cigarettes. I really had to start digging stuff up on the web to get the anwers I was looking for. Seems like warnings should be blatantly displayed and easily accessable by the public. I felt this was not the case.

Also, when I purchased my first Electronic Cigarette from Smoking Everywhere at a kiosk in the mall, I talked with the vendor for at least a half hour about all kinds of e cig related stuff. Health issues was one of my main focal points of the conversation, and absolutely nothing was directed by him towards toxious bodily harm or the possibility of nicotine poisoning. Yes that guy was a shmuck and was also not very educated when it came to the Electronic Cigarette industry in general. Everything I have learned about Electronic Cigarettes have been self sought and with the help of you fellow vapers here at Vapor Talk.

Well to give the mall guy credit I've not seen a lot about that problem anywhere, including here where we often discuss all the health benefits and dangers. Most people I've talked to that did both during transition had no problems and certainly nothing like you've described.

You may be more sensitive to it than average. It's a good reminder to us all that nicotine is NOT completely harmless, just like a lot of things, too much can kill ya.

  2. You were totally right! Today was day 10 and I tried all my flavors over except blueberry and I can actually taste them now! They still suck but there's a real improvement here! Also, the smell of cigarettes is starting to bother me a lot lol but I don't want to be a **** to my friends so I just don't say anything... wasn't too long ago people were complaining about my odor :X

The "I have smell back" really hit me at Walmart. I was at least 50 feet away from a truck..windows open, and I could smell old pipe tobacco from 50 feet away. I was like, wow.

  3. Ok,I got it up there. Now there's another problem. Why isn't it showing dollar amount saved? Everyone else seems to be doing that.I'm just gonna sit here and sob maybe even wail.ya,wailing is good,I'll wail.

    Vari

Maybe you forgot to put a price per pack in? That's my big guess of the day

  4. Edit - I did seek medical attention (doctors office) after the 5-6th day of my first nicotine poisoning sickness.

Geez I really don't like how you can't edit your posts after a set amount of time... :X

Or edit the post title at all... Yes I spelled poisoning wrong... sigh...

I haven't had that problem, but then I don't smoke an analog until I've not vaped in at least a half hour...and then I only make it thru a few drags cuz then I remember it tastes awful.

For the dehydration though.... If you run into that again, I'd say get some pedialite. That stuff rocks. It's not as fast as an IV of course, but it WILL hydrate you much better than water will.

I get dizzy after a few drags of an analog, and if I vape too much.... If I do, that's a sure sign to stop, to me. I drink some water, maybe suck on a peppermint or butterscotch candy. If I really feel I gotta vape then I pull out the 0 nic and vape all I want.

Even without nicotine poisoning though, you need to keep drinking water.

  5. Once again I'd like to thank everyone for thier comments. This was a lot of fun. Here is an update. After many days of heavy rain the Taunton River has jumped its banks and took out all the first floor studios where we reherse. We saved all the equipment but had a bit of a falling out. They say "great minds think alike" but me and Jon can't seem to agree on certain things. Keeping a band together is as hard or harder than keeping a marriage together, which is a different story all together. It looks like I won't be playing bass for Nostragarlic but I will be breathing life into my old band. It will take a while but look for LOCAL ANESTHETIC to be the one who plays the vapor talk song. The actual title has not been decided and some parts of the song can change but it is already written. I will use my alien axe for that song. other songs we play will be covers and originals. I'd like to wish Nostragarlic the best of luck. Let it be written, Local Anesthetic has come out of hybernation.

Getting a band together you can work with in the first place is hard. To find 3 to 5 (or even more in some cases) people with the same goals, the same level of commitment and all isn't easy. I know.

Even when you think you have, there's always one who thinks rehearsal is a waste of time OR OR OR. We actually had one guy come to audition for the band that by the end of the day was trying to run it. It was hilarious.

KEEPING a group together IS harder than a marriage. For one thing, there's more personalities to meld together. Other relationships can interfere as time goes on too (wife /husband/ sig other doesn't like the band) .....and on and on.

So I know exactly what ya mean. Singing with tracks online is waaaaaay easier, but you miss out on some of the things as well... the comraderie, the after the gig wind down, etc etc. :)

  6. Thank you nana, does your ego produce some huge vapor clouds like mine?

Many people displaying videos of thier Electroinic Cigarettes fail massively when it comes to big vapor production...

some of that can be the lighting they are in as well tho. In a white room for example ...you see less of your vapor

  7. I'm impressed with the magnum attys in so far as throat hit, etc goes. Was looking at a 5V mod but these might do the trick. I'm using them on my spade, but was thinking of setting up the regular 510 (or mega batts I have) for my wife with the magnum attys. I understand I may shorten the battery life but she's a weekend smoker anyway. I'm good with the spade. I was also looking at perhaps getting a PCC for the megas, or one of the new ones for the regular batteries I see that have more space so I can constantly charge to make sure she has a fresh battery. Will research the place unless anyone has experience...

    http://www.vaporlites.com/shop/parts_pcc.shtml

    So questions are:

    1) Does anyone think the Magnum low resistance attys will really hurt a regular or mega 510 battery?

    2) Does fluvil refill easily? I tried the blue foam cap, not the entire piece as TeriJo uses and was disappointed to learn you had to remove to refill (yucky).

    3) What was the exact thing to get, 410, 420? Might just pick a box off Amazon.

    3) Does the full blue foam piece fill easily? I figure since I have the caps, I can try putting two together and simulate a big piece but haven't gotten to it yet.

    4) Any other thoughts?

By the way, coming off the PTB as I think it was jeff or brian who jinxed me and now my ptbs are leaking (pretty much right after they said they were surprised it didn't.) ;-)

The first fill on blue foam you have to jiggle the foam a little.. but after that it fills pretty smooth. (When using a full piece, that is dunno bout caps)

I went to a pet store and just got a foam sleeve. It wasn't the exact version that they show in the videos, but I made sure it had no chemical treatments. It's only used as a "particle catcher" before stuff hits the actual filter. :)

Before that I'd tried a green scrubby, wasn't terribly impressed with it.

  8. Someone said they got theirs at a feed store. :)

Do you have maybe a Walgreens you could check? EDIT yes you did.... I read too fast LOL

Online there are zillions but ya do gotta wait for shipping.

http://www.nextag.com/glycerine-usp/products-html lists a mess of them. I haven't looked real hard for local around me, I'm afraid.

  9. I was just about to post a question about hair loss. :iiam: Seems weird that your hair is growing back, but after about a week mine started falling out. I took a shower about 6-7 days into my vaping journey and while I was washing my hair, i pulled out about a handful. I freaked out because I thought maybe that cheap chinese cig I bought might have had lead in it or something :nuke: ... but it could also be a coincidence, since my mother's father was completely bald by the time he was my age :) (still, I'm not 25 yet, and not ready to go bald :no )

I dunno, I think it wud have to be a HELLUVA lotta lead to act that fast. I don't know bout lead and hair however, so I could be off in left field.

  10. Not to fly too far off topic or anything, but playing pool with spaghetti conjures all kinds of odd ideas; cooked or not. devil.gif

Me to smoker: "You can't play pool with spaghetti." Smoker: "unsure.gif ... Well I'm not buying one of those Chinese contraptions! Just a wasta money! How you know it's not gonna kill you? Is it FDA Approved? Looks like smoking to me, who you trying to kid? I whutn' born yesterday!"

Me whudn't borned yestiday neither .... nope... was at least a week ago!!

  11. Let me try to make this easy for you Dave------Hey Teri, ever try to shoot pool using a rope?

Well - that's using the rope as a pushing TOOL. So there. LOL. I was mostly just indicating that I'd not heard that saying before. I'm sure to steal it though, if only to make people make a confused face like I did LOL.

You also can't play pool with spaghetti, even if it is uncooked, though I don't know why you'd want to use a rope OR spaghetti. Kinda hard to chalk too.

  12. welcome to the forum. I know about the scotch-brite, we use it at work. You may however want to check the MSDS on it because I think it has a chemical process to it.

Don't quote me on that, but I would chk first. I too use the Fluval filler, works very well, you can get it and the blue foam at PetSmart.

I love the blue foam. :) Welcome!

  13. I figure I've done my part. Maybe someday they'll decide the really don't want to smoke and give a working alternative a try. You never heard of 'pushing a rope'? That's always been one of my favorite ways of saying, You can lead a horse to water...

Yeah the lead a horse to water I have heard. never heard about pushin a rope. You can push a rope all over the place, specially if it is hangin...just don't do nuttin lmao

  14. I received my Chinese E9 E minicig from e-cig.com about 8 days ago, and I haven't smoked any analogs so far. I ordered the deluxe starter kit and about 10 packs of cartomizers and a carrying case, bringing my total to about $111, which allowed for free shipping, which was nice.

The kit came with 2 batteries, 10 prefilled cartomizers and a usb adapter and power supply. The batteries came somewhat charged and had to be plugged in after about 2 cigarettes-worth of use. After breaking the batteries in for a couple days, I find them to last about 5-6 hours, so it's good to have both charged and with me (alternating batteries on the charger is very tedious). I only smoke about 3/4 pack a day, so this contributes to most of the battery life. I would say the battery would probably last about 1-2 hours of non-stop use, but the atomizer would surely burn out before that.

The prefilled cartomizers last a whole day, or about 15 cigarettes-worth. I have the Camel, blueberry, strawberry, apple, vanilla and red bull flavors. They are all horrible and all but the Camel make me gag or run for a glass of water. The Camel tastes nothing like a Camel cigarette, but it's sweet and has a decent similarity to throat hit and production of a Camel. The vanilla cart has the most production and has a very light vanilla aroma, but has no flavor. The other flavors are so poor they are not worth a mention.

    -=TBC if requested=-

You may find you taste the vanilla after you've been off analogs for a while. But sometimes yeah, they can be pretty tasteless

  15. That's the best reply to that criticism I've ever heard! thumbsup.gif

I've had this experience frequently, and I have a theory. Want to hear it? :D a) e-cigs are 'unknown'--analogs are known; B) e-cigs look like smoking, which suggests it's no difference anyway; c) it's expensive to get started on e-cigs (I know, price of a carton of analogs--but that's a lot upfront for an unknown); d) complexity--e-cigs are very complex to use compared to analogs (or NRTs) and the path of least resistance wins.

Like anything else that purports to help smokers quit, the first and most important part to quitting is wanting to. Absent that, there's no traction whatever. Most smokers only want to quit as kind of background, 'someday,' kind of concept. E-cigs are an in-your-face commitment. I figure I've done my part if I've introduced the fact they're available and that many people find success this way. Some day they're going to want to or need to quit and with any luck they'll remember there are e-cig forums out there to help guide the way.

I've even done a demonstration with the chick that cuts my hair, let her try my VP2 and sent her home with lots of info. As I was getting my hair cut this weekend she said something like, "So you're still using your e-cig thing huh? My boyfriend and I are trying to quit too, we're using the patch." I just shrugged and wished her the best. There's no pushing a rope.

Don't get that one "pushing a rope", but I get what you mean. LOL Maybe next haircut she'll say..hey I finally tried them ecigs

  16. i had a co-worker ask about e-cigs as he was smoking an analog. his last response was well they don't know the long term affects of e-cigs, i replied that they do know the long term affects of analog cigarettes which left him speechless LOL!!

Yeah I hear ya. And Chantrix, and Wellbutrin, and and and...

It's interesting how we put all this crap in our bodies and then worry about OTHER crap getting in. It's like drinking drano and then worrying if the milk is spoiled.

  17. Thats too funny. When I smoked and people harassed me I said "Well I gotta die of something" LOL. It was just my way of ending the convo, because I didn't want to talk about it. I knew I was stupid for smoking, I didn't need someone else to tell me.

Yup exactly, and they talk like they don't KNOW you know cigarettes are killing you. It's like they think you somehow MISSED the last ________ years of constant talk about it, not to mention the warnings on every pack of cigarettes.

I make jokes about how I now smoke a battery, and I can breathe. Sometimes I get asked for more info, and I give it. Whether they are scanning this site for info, I dunno, but this is where I send them. :)

I try not to be pushy, I crack my jokes and move on - but ya can't help braggin about being able to breathe and smell and taste LOL.

  18. So Hey Everyone,

I am loving my passthrough but can't always be connected so how can I get the same vape from a battery? Is there something that I can plug into that I could move to other areas with such as a wall plug? By the way I have only had one analog today. Very Proud! I do love my new 510 and I want to maximize my experience. I have been dripping into a blank cart but how long can you use the same one? I have been using the same one for the past 2 days without trouble. I drip a couple drops in every 4 or 5 hits. Is that right? O.K. Lets have all the pro's give me the skinny. Thanks Noner And how do I get that thing on the bottom that says analog free for such and suc? Very new to all this stuff. Even posting. Crazy, I know. But you can teach an old dog new tricks.

There are about a zillion different "MODS" out there that use stronger batteries. If you go lookin thru the site you'll hear a zillion of them mentioned. Smarter folks than me will be a long to explain better. :)

I have an EGO, uses the 510 atty, gives me 6-8 hours of battery life, and 3.7v. I'm not sure how that compares to joy Passthru because I only have a 901 passthru.

There are adapters out there that will allow you to plug your passthrough to a power supply that takes a usb connection..

Now I say WELCOME and let the experts take over :))
