I just ordered some new 510 atomizers, and they are wayyyy different inside. Instead of the metal mesh surrounding the parameter inside the atty, its what looks like a metal washer instead. The opening down there is now really small, and if I drip, the pressure from putting my tip on actually makes it squirt ( yes squirt ) the juice out the back of the atty. I have had to use cartridges for this reason. I dont like carts.
Has anyone else seen these attys. I just bought a crap ton of them and found them all to be this new "washer-style". Definitely unhappy with them.
I just adapted my Spade and 510 PT to 801 attys and they work great compared to the 510 carts. IMHO anyway.

I'm new at this....have had my dse801 for less than 24 hrs!! And I have a few questions about all of this. I am doing the "direct drip" and I have seen people say they put in 2-3 drops and others say they put in 18 drops....so, I am confused

If you are not using the little "filter" that comes inside the cartridges.....how many "drops" should you start out with? Also, is there some "formula" as to how many drops are equivalent to one cigarette?Welcome to the forum fellow Coloradoian(I have no idea how to say that
)I use 3-4 drops in my 801 atty and usually redrip after 5-8 pulls or when it starts tasting burnt.

Stirfry, I don't think I implied that "lights smokers have it easier" - you can read about how difficult it is for anyone to quit smoking on this forum all day. My theory - and I'm sticking to it - is that Lights smokers require less nicotine in their juice than heavy smokers do ... generally. There are exceptions, humans are a diverse bunch. But the correlation between 24 mg being the standard "extra high strength" juice and 62% of vapers having smoked Lights or Ultra Lights is undeniable. That said, I also think there's a big commitment component to a vaper's success; nicotine level is not the only ingredient.
I started this investigation because so many people freak out about me using 48mg juice. That made me curious. The fact is though, that's a big reduction in the amount of nicotine I was getting from smoking. I'm beginning to think I might start titrating down in the next few months and see how low I can get. It would sure be nice to be able to try some of that legendary Midnight or Dulcis...
And it would help stretch out the last of my juice when the FDA decides to regulate it and all anyone can get anymore is 24mg, because that's what most people find "strong."
Probably it would have been more effective to combine somehow the type of analogs vapers were using with their initial successful level of nicotine. I'm still working on a nic-level poll idea, just haven't convinced myself how to present it - whether I just want to know what people started out with, or what their nicotine use path has been. Those might be two studies. I welcome suggestions.
I think you have a great idea, but I don't think it's going to be easy. It seems to take a while to find your Zone. I'm still trying. Moved from a 510 atty to the 302/801 (24mg is different between the 2) and now want to try the 36mg in the 801. I want to feel like I've actually taken some nic when I put down the PV. You know what I mean??

Has anyone here tried the Facial Scrub Pads ---Buff Puffs--- for their cart stuffing yet? I understand it works better than Fluval (which I've tried, and only 1 of my attempts with it worked beautifully). I believe they're on the right track with this stuffing stuff, but I can't figure out the written instructions in order to give it a whirl. If you've tried it, can you make a video for folks like me? (I love using your time, sorry!). I think it was Kristen over at the ecig forum who discovered this techique. (hope it's okay to mention another forum).
I actually tried that Buff stuff and didn't have much luck.
But now that I know someone made it work, I'll try it again. Just gotta get the size right.
I'll let you know if I make it work.

I got a bunch of the gold band atty's when the VT store had them in stock, and a couple from dietsmokes when I got my VP2. I really like them. They don't seem to get as hot as the standard back 510. I think the gold band helps with heat dissipations, but that's just my theory.
That's why I'm switching to the 302/801 atty. Just ordered some adaptors from goodprophets @$3.29 each to fit my Spade and 510PT

I like the whole "a little different every time" approach. It's the same way I make chili or stew or tuna casserole. If I happen across "vaping nirvana" and can't recreate it, I'll just mess around until I accidentally create "nirvana 2.0"

After only vaping (and loving it)for 4 weeks it is obvious that my wife has smoked too long. The other night while driving home after work she took a few drags on her 510 then mindlessly threw it out the window. I hope she doesn't do that too often!!!!!!!!

My friend is thinking about buying a kit. She smokes marlboro lights and smokes 1 - 2 packs a day. Tho she says she lets them burn down half the time.
SO my question to you all is what nicotine level do you think she should get?

I'd recomend a 10ml each of 18mg,24mg and 36mg.
Then she can decide which is better. You don't want to start too low or you won't get the satisfaction.
And you don't want too much of the wrong strength.Of course you can always cut the too strong with a lower strength.
I started with 24, tried 18, now I want to try 36. Maybe even the 48 if the 36 doesn't get me where I want to be.

You got a 801 low bridge atty from RMV?
Yes, they don't seem to go into a lot of detail on their site or give good descriptions, but the atty's I got today have the low bridge.
The bridge is waaay down there compared to the 3 DOA's that had the real high bridge.
If you order from them, I would contact customer service to verify what you want before ordering. They're usually pretty good about getting back to you.

Just recieved my 3 801 atty's and they are the low bridge type. They rock!!
I had ordered 3 last week and recieved 3 DOA high bridge ones.
Contacted C/S at RMV and Dave replaced all 3, no questions nor do I need to return the deads.
Now I need to find the adaptor to put the 801 on my Spade.
Think I'm getting off topichere.

I am starting to look at the mod units and would like some opinions on which way to go.I In an ideal world I would simply buy them all at once. But, reality is, I can only start with 1. I am looking at the most current spade version or the VP/PT. I do 75% of my vaping whil on computer. Am currently using a usb 510 passthrough and love it. Would also be awesome to have the spade to take on the go with me and last all day with great vape. also some others look to be great mods as well: prodigee, screwdriver, vp1/vp2
If you could only afford to start with one, which one and for what reasons?am in the TMI overload and need your input. Thanks in advance, Jen

If the size is important, the eGo would probably make you very happy. Small, long battery life(longer than the Spade from what I've read about it) and great vapor. I'm going to get 1 eventually. Like you I want to try them all as soon as I hit the Powerball.
I use the 510 passthru and have an 801 passthru but I'm waiting on the 801 atomizers. The 801 holds a LARGE amount of juice, which is what I'm looking for. Hate having to refill all the time.
I use the Spade when I'm not near power.

So I was cruzn the net checking out pv products and came across a new "510 Mega XL Atomizer". Looks to be new to the new market. So I checked out the pictures they have, and it looks identical to the std atty except it has an extended sleeve on the atty body. At first I wondered, why the heck make it with a larger sleeve... So I got to thinking and my only guestimation is that perhaps they would run a little cooler, more like 801 atty's and provide a tastier vape. Other than that, i can't really figure out why they would make the body longer.

I found AC/DC USB charger at walmart made by the Energizer bunny with an output of 12v @.8A and it works great for my 510 pass thru with the inline
battery. I use inside and in my truck.
Model PL-9920V $20.00
The 5v adaptors are only about $10.00 but you can only use them in the car.
Not sure if VT store sells the power supply for their big PT alone.

Unless you really like pipes.
The cigars and pipes use thsame batteries as the PV's. so the hits would be the same, and the cigars I've seen are either black or wood grain. And pretty big from the looks of them.
I have a Spade and wouldn't want anything bigger, but I'm giving the 801 pass thru a try to see if it gives a bigger hit. That's the atty they seem to be using on the VT/PT. Huge carts hold lots of juice. I had 3 801 attys, but 2 were DOA and 1 lasted about 4 hours before dying,but the supplier is sending free replacements. While it was working, it produced huge amounts of vapor comapared to the 510 Spade.
