  1. I do love a good plan, but I don't think that one will work. Right about the time you run out you'll win a giveaway or someone from here will mail you some. Looks like your stuck with us
  2. I second (or fourth) the recommendations here. I bought a KR808 kit and am very happy with it. I would only add to purchase a bottle of juice if the vendor you order from sells it. I ordered a 6ml bottle with my kit, and ordered a sample package from another vendor. That package was hung up in the mail for 6 days. Trust me, purchase the extra juice in case you love it!. Welcome to VT.
  3. Wow, 15 minutes a day. huh. That's amazing. I was worried that I was vaping way more than I ever smoked. It seems like more, because I am not leaving the desk for it but, maybe it isn't that much after all. Congrats Nana! And to everyone else on their goals. I'm two weeks in and not bitchy. That's all I got. Rixter, Did you decide on a quit method? I agree with the others here that if you enjoy it and it isn't hurting you, you should continue.
  4. Dan, I've never seen one of the mall kiosks. Nearest mall is 100 miles from me so, I doubt I ever will. I do have a gas station near by but, the one e-cig box I saw in there was so dusty you couldn't really tell what was in it. lol I think I did see some "mall types" online and I hope that the Google Gods prevents new people from even seeing those sites. KgoATWG, I'm glad to hear the reseller next to you was willing to learn, and DID learn. I guess the misinformation part is so hard for me because I've literally spend the last 6 years telling people how/what/why they should do what they were searching for. Misinformation, or only giving people enough information to hang themselves with drives me up a wall. Mcquinn, I can honestly say that I did WAY more research to switch to e-cigs than I EVER did to smoking.(in my defense there wasn't any internet in those days) I may never be able to tell you what ohms/voltage/wattage to use, but I am going to try and commit it all to memory so I can recommend to others. Hubby and I are 1 week into e-cigs and already helped 4 other family members switch. Would have converted a 5th, but he'd just bought a 1 month supply of RYO and didn't see the need to waste it. Maybe next month.
  5. I've been thinking the same thing, nasty chemicals are the beasties, not the nicotine. Rixter, I wish I could give some advice about ways to quit, but I just started and its too painful to think about right now. I've heard a lot of people talk about the step down method. I've also heard of people vaping different mg juice at different times of day. I think that method also has merit. Maybe a mix? If I was seriously thinking about quitting, I think I'd start to retrain my brain to 0 nic during the times that vaping is routine. In the morning, after dinner, driving, etc. Maybe that really doesn't make much sense, but I am following the line of reasoning for committing something to habit..That's all I got. .
  6. Uma, Your post makes me wish we had a head shop nearby. I haven't seen one since I left Oklahoma. My experience kind of made me sad because people wanting more information on e-cigs in this area go to the smoke shop thinking they will get it. I live in the Ozark Mountains so internet is not the norm in peoples homes... People in my area can't jump online and do their research, you know? Snooty salespeople need a different job. I'd have suggested kicking puppies for a living, but she looked like she'd enjoy that a little too much. In the future I'll just send people here to the forum. And I agree snooty is much to nice a desciption for these types of people.
  7. Good Point McQuinn. I don't so much want to change the way they do business, but a change of attitude would be nice. Lol. Maybe that's a job for a customer service trainer. I have a friend that bought her e-cig from a truck stop. I think her set-up is pretty close to mine but, she was able to buy liquid and carts there also. Hope your friend makes the plunge. Not only because of the money he can save, but so he will stick with it. One shot batteries have to be frustrating.
  8. I'll admit that I haven't been vaping long enough to really have a gripe, But, I had an experience yesterday that left me a bit peeved. I went to my local smoke shop to see if I could source things locally. I vaugley remembered being in there and seeing a case of e-cig related products. I go in to look around and the case is missing. I ask the clerk if they have a case of accessories for e-cigs. She looks at me blankly. I say "You know starter kits, drip tips, batteries, etc." She says "All of our fake cigarettes are non refillable." ....OK... I guess she only honed in on "drip tip"? I asked to see them. She tells me they don't work well, but lifts the case onto the counter. None of the brands look familiar, so I pass. I'm talking to my husband really more than I am talking to her at that point. We'd probably need to get more parts online, cartomizers for filling etc.. She butts in and says "They aren't meant to be re-used." I tried to explain they were refillable. She shakes her head and says "No" LOL. What? I unscrewed the cartomizer from my battery, and held it up so she could take a look. I taped the end and said "This cap comes off." And, earned myself a dirty look.I shook my head and left. I'm so incredibly glad that I won't ever need to go in there again. So, after that rant and ramble here's my question: Is there a guide that goes out to smoke shops to educate sells-people on e-cig products? I mean, I'm not the smartest noob but, I've done my research. Maybe I only encountered this because I live in such a rural part of Missouri? It just seems like you could sell more products if your knowledge of them was at least on par with the person wanting to make the purchase? Arghh. I'm surprised this woman didn't give me the speech about nicotine causing cancer. In her defense I might have been more put off by "fake cigarette" than anything. So, what do you do? I thought about calling the manager and offering to email some links...??
  9. Joe13, I'm new here too. Welcome! I hope you find the juice that's right for you. I've only had the RY4 that came with my initial kit and the pearberry that I ordered with it. I'm not sure that I am tasting much of the "tobacco" flavor in the RY4 but its pleasant.(pearberry i <3 ) I second the tip for ordering samples. I've ordered from nearly every vendor that has them and they should start trickling in soon. Good luck in your search!
  10. Recieved our order Wednesday morning and started vaping, after the battery pre-charge of course. For some odd reason (Thursday evening, day 2) I stopped being able to taste the e-juice, or much of anything else really for a little bit. I went to bed, got up and tried an analog, which I could taste... and ick. ( I always said they should make them in chocolate) I don't anticipate that this will be a hard switch. In a fit of omg-do-I-have-enough-stuff I ordered from 5 more sites today. I'm not sure vaping will be cheaper, but the taste is a helluva lot better. Good luck to the other newbies!
  11. lol. Thanks Viper Ron. That should have read "Hello from MO" as in the Missouri sticks I'd look pretty funny as a Mo
  12. Thanks Mcquinn for suggesting the drip tips! I have a mini safe for the liquid. My order from elite vaoporworks is on the way. So for the next few days I will be stalking the mailman along with everyone else.
  13. Hi All! Very glad to find this forum and begin my/our vaping journey. Over last weekend I spent a hellish 3 days in a pact with a friend to quit smoking. Seems only fair since she got me started at 12 that we should quit together.. Right? So, on day 3 I'm dying and MISERABLE while She's feeling great. She finally tells me she's using an e-cig. I honestly didn't even know what it was. I picked the analogs back up and began my research. I don't know if the same is true for everyone but it is impossible for me to watch other people vape and not smoke. Dang near constantly. The same can be said for my DH, because we are both smoking well over our norm. We are ready to make the jump, but have 0 experience with vaping, we've not even seen it in person. lol We've looked at several "styles" of kr808 and also like the Volt v2. Thanks so much for being transparent in this forum! I would have never figured out which brands were the same thing without all the wisdom here. My goal is to be off analogs by my 31st birthday at the end of August. Can anyone tell me if e-juice comes with a child proof cap? I've seen bottles for purchase, but I'm wondering if any brand has them already. I'm a mom to seven and I read the thread about drinking nicotine...the thought of that kinda freaked me out. Also, if I buy blank cartos and fill them for future use (like once a week), do they leak? I want to fill them myself, but I'd like to have some filled and ready to go. Am I missing a plastic stopper or something? (I don't recall seeing them for sale) For parents: I know the FDA has thrown a fit over the fact that pv's may encourage kids to pick up the habit. Do you think this is a concern? Ours have definitely seen the videos and research and we've explained that we want to stop smoking etc, and they should never start. What do you tell your kids about vaping? On a bright note my mom would love to vape. She has COPD and quit smoking around 15 years ago. She wants to know why her nebulizer medicine isn't already in a pv. You know, because she "knows" how to smoke and it could be an effective delivery system. I've talked to much. Look forward to getting to know you. Thanks for making this a place where noobs like me can feel welcome.
