  1. It takes a while to figure out all the bits and pieces involved with vaping. Some (like me)-enjoy mixing or changing flavors, others don't. For me, It was about the premixed liquids never having strong enough flavor.

I love tons of flavor !!!

  2. couple options for increasing the flavor:

    1. You can add flavor to you current liquid. using a 3 or 5ml bottle--add your premixed liquid and add a few drops at a time until you get the flavor you want.

Flavourart flavorings has a very wide selection of flavors. The tobacco flavors are very strong--a little goes a very long way.

    2. DIY Flavor Shack-- you can have Dawn mix up some flavors to your specifications. DIY flavorshack. Can also get just the tobacco flavorings to add to your existing flavors.

Finding the Right flavors is a big part of the challenge.

  3. if you can find it--the fluval 2 plus usually works well. There are many types of fluval. if you open the package you can tell which one is closest in consistency to the cart filler. I actually much prefer the blue foam from strictly ejuice. The aquarium blue filter isn't quite the same. the price from strictly ejuice is pretty good.

The blue foam is actually meant as a plug, the foam fills only about 1/3 of the cart. strictly ejuice site has a diagram and instructions.

  4. Unfortunately some people do need more than one surgery. back problems are difficult to treat at best. but you figure, you wouldn't be looking at this path if it wasn't already that bad !!

by being diligent with you back precautions you can slow the chances of needing more surgery. BLT--Bending, Lifting, Twisting. Low impact exercise--swimming, walking helps too.

Compliance with therapy and recovery is one of the main reasons spine surgeries fail or need to be repeated. Learn as much as you can about the recovery and tricks you can use (avoid the horror stories like the plague).

as far as the nicotine goes--I know all of our spine surgeons are adamant about no nicotine to help with recovery. As a nurse I can actually support this. The pathophysiology of bones supports this. the circulation to the bones is very, very sensitive--the bones don't use a lot of blood, so what blood they do get is very important.

Blaming every disease or problem on smoking or nicotine pisses me off--but occasionally, it may not be the cause, but it certainly doesn't help.

I haven't tried lower my nic yet--but I do find that using a bit of menthol in my flavors adds to the throat hit--this may help with lower the nic. FT Joe and Nana both use 0 nic and may be able to help with this.

    YOU CAN DO THIS !!!!!!

  5. first thing is to stop reading the horror stories. There are many, many reasons for spine failure or success. you just need to focus on those things that will make you a success.

Pain control is usually our hardest problem with spine patients due to the large volumes of pain meds they take daily-- by cutting that back (if you can) it will help after surgery. I see way more success with spine surgery than failure.

Those with a positive attitude definitely seem to get better faster.

The first thing I tell all my patients when they wake up--- Its going to hurt like a B**** to move, but moving is the only way you will get out of here. The more you move the quicker the pain gets better.

    You will do great !!!

Time to start experimenting with some 0 nic flavors !!!

  6. For the most part I do think they try to blame way too much on smoking......

However, this time I do think nicotine does affect the blood flow to the bones and really can delay healing. the blood supply to the bones is not like the blood supply to our heart or muscles. The bones are more sensitive to decreases in circulation--and it has been proven that nicotine affects circulation.

our spine surgeons don't even like to use nicotine patches, gum etc on their patients.

I am a spine nurse and see the good and the bad. Sometimes spine surgery is the only way to help chronic pain, when everything else has failed. If you follow all the directions before and after surgery you will have a great outcome.

One hint--the less pain medication you take a couple weeks before surgery--the better the pain medication works after surgery.

One of the advantages to vaping vs smoking--you can wean yourself to 0 nic and still be able to vape !!!

  7. Nicotine break down is per ML. If you vape 24MG and go through two ML per day, you're intake of Nicotine was 48MG(2ML x 24MG). There is 1MG of nicotine in a cigarette so if you smoked a pack a day you would be getting 20MG of nicotine essentially.

There are a lot of other variables as to why you would vape more besides need for nicotine...Convenience, indoor vaping, taste, etc.

    I did figure all this out once upon a time when I first started vaping. I figure I go through about 1 - 1.5 ml/day. I smoked 30 cigs a day=30mg(ish). based on 1mg nicotine/cigarette - a figure that I came across years ago.

I use 18mg liquid--so even at 1.5 mls I am getting less nicotine. much of the time i am using 12-16 mg/ml.

Nicotine is probably one of the least harmful chemicals in cigarettes - I figure not having the other deadly chemicals I used to smoke, more than balances the nicotine.

  8. I vary between 12mg and 18mg and unless I am at work--my ego is in my hand, pocket or on the table next to me. I vape all the time. You are not alone !!!

Next time you order liquid you can try some 18 mg and just alternate with the 24mg and see what you think.

at this point for me--its very much the pacifier effect baby.gif

I have no doubt that if it were not for vaping I would be smoking and I would much rather be vaping !!! (all the time)

  9. You will love it !!!!

Waiting is the hardest part. Just use the time to surf around the forum for the little tricks and tips. The more info you have the better. You Tube has tons of videos for getting started.

Very, very glad you have joined the vaping community !!!

  10. With the 510's the regular charger and the mega charger are the same (to the best of my knowledge). I know the ego charger says not to use with 510 batteries.

sounds like a very, very defective charger. Its probably not the suppliers fault (but should definitely replace it), sometimes duds do come through. I'm really sorry about the damage--and thank goodness it wasn't worse !!!

Its frustrating when you lose parts through no fault of your own.

  11. When I first started I actually preferred the 510 to the super.wordup/510. at word up you do get a couple color choices--black, white, chrome, platinum, copper. The 510 gives great vapor and throat hit. and is thin like a regular cigarette. All e-cigs are heavier than a regular cigarette.

If you decide to go with something like the 510--I highly recommend a PCC(personal charging case) for charging when you are out. PCC/Rockymountain. The battery life on the 510 is only a couple hours.

Since you are home alot a passthrough would be good passthrough/wordup.

Now, that being said---The best value, battery life, durability is the Ego/Tornado. And the pink is really great looking !!!!

I love my Ego. I used the 510 when I first started and it really did work great--but the Ego wins hands down. (The Ego wasn't around when I first started)

You have to pick the one you think will help you the most. No matter which way you go--I can promise you, it won't be the last model you get.

Extra atomizers or cartomizers and extra liquid !!!!

    Happy vaping
